Richard is the manager at location and he was wonderful. He called to make sure I had everything I needed to move in with no problems. They offer storage they offer packing supplies as well as locks and security. The elevators and lockers are clean and well maintained. I would recommend you store your items at this place. This review is for the location on Dallas Highway near McDonald's. I would not recommend this location or any other because they all run off of the same principle policy of raising the rent to margins that are outrageous and without cause. My family has only been with them right at 3 months now, and they've raised the rent over $60.00. I feel that this is nothing but all out bait and switch. If you are especially on a budget don't trust what they say because you'll definitely put yourself in a situation. We moved into the area and we've just begun settling down, only to find out they're raising the rent on the unit. This is the very thing we were trying to avoid and told their representative Richard this day one. Don't use this place. read more

I started out here at a rate of $129 or something close to that not even 2 years ago. Around the 1 year mark, it increased to $145. That was only 6 months ago. I was ok with that. I've had a good experience with the facility and the staff so far. So it came as a shock that the rent went from $145 to $225 with 3 weeks notice of such a huge increase. I won't be keeping my unit, I wouldn't recommend being at the mercy of this business making up prices whenever he wants, and I'll be moving my things to another storage place and giving them my money for a cheaper price. For two years, I was a happy customer of Extra Space Storage. I paid my rent on time every month. During those two years I did have two or three price increases of a few dollars. This past July I received a notice that my rent was going up from $68 per month to $136 per month. They wanted to double my monthly rent!!!! When I called to complain about this ridiculous increase, I was offered an $18 discount from the new rent level down to $120 a month. In other words they still wanted to raise my rent by $58 each month! This company does not understand the terms "customer" or "loyalty to a customer". So, if you want to be ripped off when you least expect it, go right ahead and rent space from Extra Space Storage. I, for one, will make sure everyone I know hears my story of how they decided to shaft me with impunity!!! read more

Prepare for surprise rent increases without warning. It may be $10-15 or it may be close to $100. Just depends. Like the workings of God, it's unknowable. It might come after a year, it might come on April 26th. Your guess is as good as mine. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything--is 42. It might also be how much your rent goes up. You never know. I didn't realize I was playing the GA Lottery. There's no way it's based on inflation unless by inflation you mean opportunistic profiteering. Inflation is not over 30%. On a positive side note, I've always enjoyed interacting with Richard. He does a great job. Not sure I want to pay $380/mo for that though. Unless they let me install a shower and I can stay there for part of the month. Place is very clean. Plan on the bathroom not being accessible. Pee at Publix. Also bring a flashlight or lantern. The motion lights are a trap. read more

Have been a customer since 2010 and after fighting the many rate increases will move out next month. The place is clean and customer service (Richard) is good. New customer's get a awesome rate, best to ask for a year lease. If you don't Extra Space will have rate increase every 4-6 months, between $6.00 to $12.00 increase. Oh your insurance rate is a flat $9.99 a month. I have changed units twice beating the rate increase and asking several times to please lower the increase......they will knock off $3.00. I will be moving to another storage company who is happy with a long term customer. Also Extra Space has helped me to down size too (moved to smaller unit). The clientele has changed, the parking spaces are filled with trailers, old beat up boats, lawn care equipment and old trucks. Go during the day. read more

Richard, the manager, is always friendly and helpful and is always on top of every task when I bump into him or need anything. I get that people here have given so many positive reviews because the facility is like they said, clean, well maintained, and well lit. Nobody ever seems to talk about their pricing practices? Maybe they did not get the same price increases I did. No matter how you slice it, a 40% increase over 2 1/2 years is excessive. I left because another increase was coming and that would have made it a 50% increase since I started renting! Enough! BTW, I found another local storage place (Acworth) that had 10'X10' climate-controlled spaces for $100 per month. Extra Space claims they are competitive, but my research showed this to not be true. read more

Richard was just as great in person as he was over the phone. I missed my move-in date. Richard called and allowed me rent at the same rate although the rate had increased for the same size unit.
