    TL;DR: For the really important stuff, trust these guys…read more Longer version: Was in Ithaca for a family memorial service; thus the ceramics and pottery we were shipping back to California had a great deal of value to us. How do you ship several pounds of bowls, ceramic art and sculptures? Could have used the Post Office, UPS Store, etc...and probably end up with a box of fragments when it arrived. Found Uncle Marty's on Yelp, and was encouraged by the reviews, so we drove the rental with a trunk full of ceramics there. Staff was very understanding, kind, and friendly. At the same time, while they were gentle on the items and very mindful of how to pack them, they were also very conscious of the cost implications, and worked through several different options to find the right number of boxes (and the right sizes) to ship off the items to two different locations (daughter in Chicago, us back in California). While it didn't end up being inexpensive (not Uncle Marty's fault...FedEx ain't never been the cheapest), I am pleased that every single item arrived perfectly packed, safe, and undamaged. I'm not sure if I'll ever find myself again needing to ship things from upstate New York, but if I do I know where I'll go.

I have a DHL account I've used for charging the cost of shipments; however, the person I spoke with at the front desk of Uncle Marty's while trying to ship out my parcel said that they have a specific retail export account number that all shipments get assigned to when being scheduled for pick-up... so they can't use alternative DHL accounts for charging shipments. When I offered to pay for the shipment with my procurement card, that seemed to be fine... until I inquired further about whether or not duties/fees could be charged to that same procurement card upon their arrival at the destination processing facility (I was shipping to Tanzania, and this is an easy process when shipping via your own DHL account). I've typically ensured our office - as the sender - makes payment on duties/fees for a parcel, at least within the last couple years (it expedites the delivery, and many international institutions in the developing world don't have the easily accessible means to pay for duties/fees on an item that's being provided to them as a donation). Since I wasn't able to ensure that duties/fees would be paid by me/my procurement card as the sender - and I couldn't use my own DHL account - I ended up leaving, parcel in-hand, without being able to get it processed and sent out via Uncle Marty's. I was also able to leave with a single plastic waybill packet, as well as a paper waybill... after specifically requesting both items (more than once). While DHL has certainly preferred folks go through their electronic scheduling system in recent years, that has proven to sometimes be problematic when shipping to certain parts of the world (given the need for indicating villages / areas that aren't especially known)... so I like to have a couple paper waybills handy, and I *HAVE* been able to ship out with paper waybills (i.e. without DHL rejecting the parcel because of a paper waybill) without issue. In the beginning of working from home back in March, I had gone to the Pack & Ship store that used to be on the corner of the Commons to ship out an identical parcel. There? No issues whatsoever (and yes, I used a paper waybill for that parcel). But that store is closed now, so I opted to try Uncle Marty's. Unfortunately, the process isn't as easy here as it was at the store on the Commons (which was so much easier because I was just able to use my DHL account number for any / all charges). TL;DR The explanation above probably includes more complicating factors than most shipments being sent out via Uncle Marty's, but it was my experience. The guy I spoke with at the desk was certainly friendly and answered my questions helpfully (hence the rating), but it's important to know the complicating factors of trying to use your own DHL account, etc.

Maybe it's because I wasn't actually shipping something, but using their printing services. I had waited last minute (as always) to get some programs printed up for a show that I had on Thursday evening. Was a bit pressed for time, and wasn't looking forward to trekking out to Henrietta to us another well known printers services. Was pleasantly surprised to find that these guys do printing as well, and are right around the corner from my home. Even more surprising was their price per page was cheaper than the other place I was looking at, and the prices at that place were self serve! Placed my order online at about 10am and the site said that it would be done at about 3:30. Got a text at 12:30pm telling me that it was already done. Got to the shop, checked my order only to find that the pages hadn't printed longways, but vertical on the page. Freaking out because I thought it was something that I did, the employees were super helpful and explained that this happens often and it's something that you have to request in the notes section of your order. No questions asked, they reprinted my whole order for no charge. About 70% through the order I noticed that the pages, while printed in the right orientation, were printing upside down on one of the pages. Found out again that this was yet another thing that had to be special requested when placing the order. But, once again they restarted and reprinted the entire order for no charge. Not once did they make me feel dumb, or even balk at the fact that we had to go through this process 3 times before getting it right. I'll definitely be back.

Nothing was broken, no walls were scratch, they dissembled the furniture and put it back together without damaging it, but above and beyond the material things was the respect, kindness, well behaved, helpful, punctual and care shown by the four movers that were involved: Abhishek, Amrit, Pardeep, and Vishal. Thank you for treating myself, my old an new place and my belongings so politely. The move that lasted 11 hours, ran absolutely smoothly. I was really impressed with the professionalism of the movers! They also moved my piano without any damage. I fully recommend this company. I have had many moves in my life, but never one so care free and excellent!

After I pushed back, they sent a call recording where the representative mentioned it briefly -- in about10 seconds, buried in a longer conversation. It was never clearly emphasized, and had I truly understood I'd lose my money, I never would have agreed. I asked them to waive the deposit as a gesture of good faith. They refused. Customers deserve clear, upfront communication about non-refundable charges, not a passing mention. Very disappointed.

I had two storage units at this facility. The climate controlled ones are great. Clean and easy to use and get to. Also had two outdoor units and they were problem-free. After one year of having all my items in the units here, everything came out just as I had placed it in there. Zero issues. All items kept safe n' sound. If I ever need storage again, I will certainly go here! Hope to never need it again though. 5++++ stars!!

Put in a claim. almost Two weeks went by and no one had contacted me regarding the claim. after sending email with pictures. Over the week I called 4 times, never reaching a live person, having to leave voice message Each time. Was finally contacted to say claim was submitted and being processed. Two weeks later no contact again from anyone. Over the following two weeks 4 phone calls were not returned. Called a 5th time, only this time I went to the sales line, which is always manned by a live person. And as expected, call was immediately answered by a live agent in Customer Service, where again, I left a message requesting a callback from the Ajax location to call me. Message was delivered Thursday June 18 approx 2pm. Will update when I receive my callback.

From my conversations with Maribeth in the office, through the on-site walk-through of my home with Brian, and the move itself with driver Brad, they were both well organized and considerate. For instance, in addition to explaining the companies practices and policies in detail, Brian was able to provide me with an inventory and bound estimate for my move which was emailed to me before he left my house after the walk-through! Both he and Joanne in the office were responsive to email and phone calls before the actual move date answering questions about logistics and packing. I was able to pay by credit card and review/approve all documents online in advance of the move. Joanne also personally called me multiple times throughout the move, pickup, and delivery to confirm that things were moving along smoothly. Driver Brad and his crew arrived on time, worked quickly, and efficiently on both ends of the job. They were friendly and considerate of both my home and my family, which is a valuable asset during a stressful move. Having worked with other moving companies in the past, it was clear that Corrigan practices great communication between their customers and staff. The result in this instance at least, was both great customer service and smooth move overall.

That was a lie. When receiving my container most of my furniture was damaged and not wrapped. My couch cushions were just thrown on top of a pile and terribly stained. 80% of my wood and metal furniture had damage after my long distance move. Even a cherry table which I listed as a high value item. Had a major gouge on one of the leaf extensions and three of my chairs were stained and scratched. I would say that if you value your furniture and don't want to deal with insurance claims. Stay away from this company.
