Terrible Experience - Rats, Dust, and Disrespectful Staff This place is a disaster. My storage unit had rats, thick layers of dust, and absolutely no help from management. When I brought up the rat problem, all they said was "if anything is damaged, you can file an insurance claim"--AFTER the fact. No offer to help prevent further damage or even check the unit. Same with the dust--no concern, no solution, just indifference. The assistant manager is incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Every interaction feels like a confrontation, not customer service. I eventually spoke with the local lead manager, hoping to resolve things, and got absolutely nothing--no support, no apology, no effort to make it right. What makes this worse is that white tenants have told me they complained about the same problems and were given months of free rent, lowered payments, and a big apology. But me, a Mexican customer, got nothing but cold shoulders and excuses. It's clear there's favoritism--or worse. I've stayed quiet for a long time, but enough is enough. I'm taking my business elsewhere. If you value your belongings and expect to be treated with respect, look elsewhere. read more

it started out great when I signed up with Daniel. I was not notified when they did a rent increase. I decided to empty my storage because I could not afford paying almost double. When I asked about a refund, I was told they don't do that. I was very disappointed because I was short on money because of the extra expense, if you choose to rent here, please make sure you check your statement every month so you're not surprised like I was I have an extra space storage up north and each time I have left I was always refunded a prorated amount. When we first signed up, we were asked if it would be long-term, we said yes. We were under the impression our rep (who was very nice!!) gave us the best program for long term. A couple months later, we noticed our bill went up about 10%. We contacted our local rep who told us that corporate changes the rates without them knowing. He gave us a credit for the difference then a month later it went back to the higher price. Just recently we got notice of another increase, which is an additional 20%. We've seen two increases within a year.... Almost a 40% rate increase total within one year. If there was a long term option, we were never offered it. We will consider looking for a locally owned storage versus a corporate franchise that seems to raise rates whenever they feel & at times without notice. read more

Only beef so far is that I wish I was told before hand about insurance on the unit, this is my first time renting a unit and it would have been nice to know that because I paid first month for it, then found out that its covered by my homeowners and of course no refund or credit can be issued. While this facility seems clean and well run, there is an issue that you need to be aware of. The key pad is behind two yellow post, obviously to protect it from truck mirrors, etc. The problem is the key pad is SO FAR behind I have to stretch as far as I can, reach between the posts, where I can just barely touch the keypad with my fingertips. BTW, I am 6 foot tall and drive a mid size car. Anyone shorter, or in a smaller car, cannot operate the keypad. I have seen and talked to many people who have to stop their car, get out, and walk over to use the keypad to open the "automatic" gate. Come on guys, hire an electrician and move the keypad forward 6 inches. It would still be well protected. I know, I could move, but all my stuff is packed away. If I had known about this beforehand, I would have chosen another place. If you are OK with getting out of your car every time you want access, go ahead and rent here. If you think poor or lazy management should not force you to get out of your car when you want to access your goods, find another place. I mean really? Do you want to get out of your car every time? read more

I spoke to H.A. and Annie, who explained all of the storage options and calculated the most economical and best fit for my needs. Annie gave me a tour of the facility, showing me my spaces, where to enter, how the locks worked and operation of the keypad with my personal code number. Annie was a whizz in explaining and completing the necessary paperwork and finalizing all of the details...so patient and professional. So far, so good. I recently moved out of a competitors storage facility once my unit had been broken into and 1/3 of my belongings were stolen or damaged. I looked at many storage companies before deciding on Extra Space Storage. Their facilities are clean, well lit and have a ton of security cameras. The fact that they require insurance from renters is a nice bonus as well, it helps ensure that the clientele is top notch. I don't anticipate any issues with Extra Space Storage. The staff were friendly and professional. Facility is clean and safe. I am renting the smallest unit (5x5) and am surprisingly able to fit a TON of stuff in it. The ceiling is 9 feet high, which allows for a lot of box stacking. It is easy to get in and out of the facility using the personalized code they provide. Highly recommend using this Extra Storage facility. read more
