We have had our furniture stored here for 2 years. This morning, March 6,2026, we stopped by to…read morepick up a few items and discover our climate controlled unit cover in mouse droppings. This was not a couple of droppings in the corner, the entire floor, the tops of boxes, inside containers were all covered in mouse droppings. I reported it to the office attendant. He said they would sweep it up and set out a couple of traps. He was very unsympathetic or caring about our situation. We have three king size mattresses and box springs, numerous items of bedding, towels and other fabrics in the unit. They obviously covered themselves in the contract, but at least give a damn about our situation. $300 a month for two years and they will do nothing for us. We purchased insurance, but everything will be prorated and we will get very little compensation. When we ask to speak to a supervisor, the kid on the phone says" I am the supervisor". With our unit being infested, I'm pretty sure there are multiple units also infested as well. If you have items stored at Meathead, I would suggest you go inspect it. We are extremely disappointed with Meatheads attitude toward this issue, their unwillingness to contact anyone higher up, and basically their "we are not responsible" attitude. I'm sure this can happen at any storage facility, but for Christ's sake, at least act like you care.

They claim because it's a digital entry facility your items are more protected. But what are you supposed to do when it's management you need protection from. It trued to pay for my unit they locked me out of the website to make the payment. After they took over I was unable to see who entered and exited my unit or the gate. Just all of a sudden I was unable to see any activity when it came to my unit. I bluffed them when they were auctioning my unit off because I knew they were crook's. The day of the auction I sent a receipt of payment that wasn't real in hope I could give myself more time to stop them from their illegal actions. I was on the phone with them miniturs before the auction was to take place they confirmed they got the receipt and told me my unit wasn't going to be auctioned off. I made them confirm this via Email they still auctioned my unit off as I knew they would. So when I called a few days later I got the response I knew I would get they auctioned off my unit. Then attacked me about the receipt. I then told them if they knew it was fraudulant when hadn't they contacted law enforcement about it. But we both already knew they had long before the auction taken my unit. I was unable to find my unit anywhere on any storage auction site. Knew exactly what happened like the thieves they are they stole my unit took what they wanted and auctioned off the rest. This is how they operate. Do not use this facility your unit will unlawfully be entered by these individuals and they have the power to manipulate their own security system so that you won't even know they entered your unit.

I've also been able to store things that I needed to store temporarily until I got back the use of my garage These spaces are clean and dry and well lit and well drained and also it's in a very nice area in San Luis up overlooking the airport that has a nice fresh breeze coming by I have had storage units in two of the other large complexes in San Luis, but Buckly Springs is just a cut above the others and the staff is always friendly always helpful and they very often have home baked cookies available in the office The other thing I really appreciate is that they beautifully decorate the outside of the storage space for Christmas so the colorful lights are a wonderful way to greet your storage unit

So, first night, we had to stay in a hotel in order to park our trailer somewhere. Spent most of Friday evening and Saturday morning calling places. Talked to Kathy at the front desk and she was able to find the last available spot that would work for our size trailer! And right here in SLO! We really thought we were going to have to drive an hour to store it. Anyway, Kathy was amazing-explained the contract throughly, I understood how my billing would be handled, showed me how to use my code to open the gate, and even shared where the bathroom was! What storage unit has a bathroom?! We even got interrupted by a customer moving their stuff out (moving away) and as they left, they mentioned to Kathy how well they've been treated and if they come back, they will definitely come back to Mission.
