I've been renting a unit from them since August 2020 and "YES" they do have you sign a contract. The rate increases that I have had over the last 29 months has been a total ripoff. I am paying more now then a person would if he or she would come in and rent a new unit the same size as mind. When confronting the management concerning the outrageous rate increase over the 29 month period I was told to simply "move out the unit and go get a family members to sign for a new unit." The management will lie and say its every 8 to 14 months but the increases are computer generated every 5 to 6 months. They get you by advertising the low rental unit prices. Then you are hit with those outrageous rate increases. That's where they make their money.

As I was preparing to move-out, I communicated my intentions to the office staff and received some directives. My payment was due but I was told to go ahead and move-out then come to the office so that I did not have to pay a full month's rent. I was told that he did an over-ride in system so my code would not be blocked due to nonpayment. I drove an hour 10 minutes to finish moving out that evening but was unable to access the storage because my code had been taken out. I paid my movers for their troubles and contacted the office the next day and explained that I could not get the balance of my things and had to pay my movers. Apology was made to me and I was told to get the things that day and he would work with me regarding that day's prorated pay. After moving out, I followed instructions and called the office I got a guy that I had not dealt with before. He was a poor listener, pushy and unapologetic. Instead of listening carefully to what I was sharing about what had transpired and what I was told, he kept pushing me for the payment. I gave my card number then re-explained the situation before the payment went through. He replied, "Well, I just submitted the payment." This discussed me because in the end, not only did he charge me for the day that I came back due to the code not working, but he also charged me an extra day. He charged me for the day of my transaction which was the day after I actually got the remainder of my things. I left a message for the office manager as the poor listener told me that he would have to consider refunding me. I never got a call back. I called several times and receive no response. It feels intentional because I never was unable to contact them during the year that I stored with them. I'm all about fairness and customer service; in the end I didn't receive that although I had no complaints prior to the move-out. People work hard - don't take their money and Listen well/talk less!

I asked if the furniture would be reassembled as I had heavy bedroom sets as well as an electric couch & loveseat. I even called a week ahead of time to let them know I would be moving most of the boxes to the new house myself - the quote included 50 boxes -to cut some of my costs, and the new house was just across the street. So after the move I was told that several things were missing from the estimate that John visually saw . 3 area rugs that were already wrapped. a dresser, an end table - all in the garage when John came. a small gate (for my dog). and a few other things that were that were there when John gave the estimate. So now the movers also told me that they had to reassemble the furniture, put area rugs down and then move them til customer (me) was satisfied with their placement! i was told this work was all included in my quote. The boxes that had to be moved were a total of 10 as I moved the rest a head of time. So now they tell me it is the time they charge for and not the number of boxes. Needless to say I was very disappointed as the whole thing felt like a scam! They were fast (finished an hour early) and they were so pleasant. They were laughing with each other, having a great time even though the complex we moved into was kind of a headache to get around. They were so polite and careful with our items, ensuring everything was placed where we wanted it. This was our first move (out of 4 moves in 7 years) that we did not use a moving company that moved us start to finish (like packed the truck, drove it, and unloaded) and I was a little nervous about that, but all in all I'm very happy with our experience. Two moving crews in two states with a 16 ft truck FULL floor to ceiling, front to back was $1,400 (truck not included).

While the crew arrived within the scheduled window, the professionalism ended there. The team sat in their truck for 25 minutes upon arrival, and I was subsequently charged for that time. Furthermore, I detected the scent of marijuana on the crew. The internal team dynamic was volatile; two movers bickered until one eventually called an Uber and abandoned the job mid-move. Despite paying for a four-person crew, I was left with three. The remaining crew members lacked the physical capability to move items over 75 lbs, leading to significant delays. To make matters worse, they showed a total lack of regard for my home, rolling dollies directly over my new flooring and carpeting without protection. This was a catastrophic experience from start to finish.

They get you in the door for a "low intro rate of $89" (depending on the size of the unit). They tell you that it will increase to $105 (example, not exact). Here I am, six months later, and they have raised it to $170 for the same unit. I have canceled twice to start the whole process over and over, but I have to move all of my stuff from unit to unit so they can keep doing this same practice. It is exhausting and unscrupulous. I understand an increase that matches the cost of living increase, but this is not right. Find another place where the owners value your business. taking advantage of the fact that they know you want to store your stuff and not move it constantly to game their bad pricing strategy.
