Based on several reviews that I read on Facebook groups of people moving to FL, I hired Big Man's to move my husband & I from NJ to FL. Planning the move was very easy & efficient. Themis & Richard who were the guys that moved us did a professional & excellent job in wrapping up the furniture in blankets & shrink wrap & were careful on our floors. Joshua, you can continue to hide behind waivers but everyone now knows that to you did not do the right thing but reimbursing at least part of the tv that was damaged. We were not asking for a lot but im glad this is not the way I deal with issues in my business or we wouldn't have any clients. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU!!! I WISH I NEVER USED THIS COMPANY! I paid a deposit which never went towards my move and then after i paid cash for my move they charged my card for additional amounts. They will charge you an extra 200 at the very end for the movers using dollys or the truck and this is on top of the actual cost of the hourly rate. Then when you ask them about this charge they go silent and never are heard from. They ran my card 2 times WITHOUT MY PERMISSION for additional amounts that were never part of the agreed on amount after i had already paid them. I had to report fraud on my cards cause of them. Initially when job was set up no time was given for arrival I was told i would be contacted the day prior to moving. I was contacted at 10:30 am and told they were wrapping up a job and he woukd get back to me at 1pm then that text stated they had to unload and they would get back to me...they finally arrived at 5:15 exhausted. They rushed wrapping my larger items up in blankets (that were covered in holes) and were letting the dolly drop down every step holding my 3 large bins. I expressed concerns about the rough handling of items which they brushed off. In a rush they stacked items on top of bins and a small plastic bin with my silverware in the holder fell off the top and silverware went everywhere and broke the bamboo containers holding the silverware. When they were finished, they still needed to set up the bed and 55' as well as the 70' tv...the king bed was set up wrong and needed to be turned as well as the bins needed to be on the floor not stacked they were trying to get me to pay I explain that these items need to be complete that I was to have shoulder surgery and unable to lift the tvs bed and bins. He became upset yelled at me that they were all tired, which in turn I said, not my problem. After they left I found chipped would on dinning table from exposed wood when packed and my new dresser drawer handle had been snapped off! And when moving the TV lost my roku ( the plug was present next to the TV set up but not the actual roku).I was unable to move the dresser to unplug either the TV or roku bc of my shoulder. When I reported what had happen during the mive and the damage to my furniture aa well as the lost roku, I waa told "I" could fix them myself and brushed off the roku as if I misplaced it. Terrible experience and very expensive moving company compared to others. I highly recommend getting another company who actually value their customers time and patronage! This is my 3rd time using the company- this time it was a gift to my daughter and son in law moving from NPR to Brooksville into their first home with a newborn. They had packed themselves but needed the truck and the muscle for moving the furniture and all the boxes. The crew: Antoine, Devon and Jerry were quick and efficient. They will put everything on the truck so if something is not going make sure to communicate this with all 3 or put a sign on the price otherwise it will show up at the new place. Billing: Overcharged me, claiming one of the guys did a 15-minute walk-through of a single-level, 2-bed, 2-bath, 1,600 sq. ft. house; while the other guy stood at my counter WAITING for the office to tally up my bill. 15 minutes does not sound like much, but at $150 an hour, it added up to $37.50. The crew (very young) worked hard. No one would talk to me about the overcharge with me - TEXT only. Josh is all lip service until you have a question, then he sends a text. Zach works at a storage unit somewhere, and he was not helpful. When talking with Josh about an early-morning move, he hemmed and hawed, stating they own 6 trucks and that he would try. Hardly this company deserves the best of Tamoa Bay! The crew is had i would use in a heart beat but NEVER the company. The Crew - OUTSTANDING! Gave 200% even being expected to complete 2 full moves in one day! I hope they got overtime! The company and Owner - I would NEVER do business with them again! They lack transparency and integrity. During the sale process, they were beyond responsive. I was NEVER told I would be the 2nd move of the day or that it was even a possibility at the time of the sale. The follow up to discuss scheduling of the move was basically nonexistent. Since I was a Monday morning move, I expected a call reference timing on Monday to be received on the Friday before. I heard nothing on Friday or Saturday and only receuved info on Sunday after I left 2 voicemails and sent emails requedting a call. It was only then it was communicated that I was the 2nd move on Monday and should expect the crew around lunchtime, about noon. The crew didn't show up until 2:30 pm - not their fault as the 1st move scheduled by the owner took MUCH LONGER than planned. So I was INCONVENIENCED as my move was not completed until 11:15 pm. NEVER was there an apology for the delay. Of course, I was expected to pay the full price without any compensation for my inconvenience. Oh, the owner felt he was being generous to not charge a 5% credit card fee on the portion I charged which amounted to about $90 max. We thought we finally found a good mover. We were wrong. They moved us across town. Our most valuable piece of furniture is our Amish dining room table. They removed the top from the pedestal to move it. Fine. Then they tried reassembling it at the destination. They misaligned the holes and tried screwing the screws into hard wood. We asked them repeatedly to please stop. "No. We got it." And they kept trying. Now we have a table in two parts in our house. We asked them to pay the $200 (or less) to repair it. They said, "No, we do not fix things that are that expensive." We would never use them again, and would not trust anyone who bases their service response on what it might cost to repair a mistake. read more

We had a two-truck interstate move from suburban Memphis TN to Lakewood Ranch FL. Themis, Nick, and Phillip arrived at 8am, filled both trucks in a day, and amazingly started the drive back to Florida that same day. They were so fast and efficient! Our furniture was carefully wrapped and all arrived safely. It was a huge job, and they did it quickly and with smiles. Now we just have to unpack all those boxes we packed. We had a horrible move 20 years ago with Allied, and have seen the bad. Would not hesitate to recommend Big Man's to anyone looking to move down to Tampa metro. 10/10! read more

Post script to my earlier review. I believe the damage to my table was preventable. The company has offered to pay a small sum, which I accept as resolution of the matter. Considering the effort put forth before, during, and after the move, I believe a rating of 4 stars is warranted. I am long overdue to write this review! Nick M and LJ were exceptional in helping us with our move from Florida out of state. Nick carefully packed all of our items so that everything fit into the moving truck, we had so much stuff and I was so impressed with how he took the time to make sure everything fit. They were so diligent in how they handled all of our boxes and items, and absolutely nothing was broken or damaged. We even had a few pieces of furniture that were previously damaged, and as Nick M and LJ moved each of those items, they made sure to check in with us so that we were aware the damage already existed. I was so appreciative of their kindness and diligence. They did an exceptional job and I hope they are acknowledged by the company and its owners. We had Big Man Moving, move our belongings to a storage unit in June and then to our permanent residence a few weeks ago. We couldn't tell the condition of everything in the storage unit, but once they moved it here we saw that 99% of our furniture was damaged as well as some of our fragile items. When we filed a claim with their insurance company, they came back that they would give us $50. We had thousands of dollars of furniture damaged. The owners wife posted on Facebook advertising their company and services. We consulted them via a comment on Facebook and later they inboxed me to fill out a comment card on their website. I obliged. Got a return e-mail later that evening requesting for me to fill out an inventory checklist. The next day got a phone call from them to consult with me about moving. I was asked for another over the phone inventory and photos via text message. After that, followed up with an e-mail. Originally I asked for an ALL IN QUOTE. Service for Moving and packing in total. I did not receive that... Here's what happened: I had to provide two different consultations with multiple people who did not communicate the conversations, text messages and emails I had with other members of this company. They urged me to reserve my moving and packing days by putting down deposits; TWO different deposits: One for a moving quote and the other for a packing Service quote. So, one quote deposit cost me $150 and the other $350!!! Here's what went wrong: I'm a military veteran and have moved around the world most of my adult life to include utilizing civilian moving companies in the past. There was too much miscommunication! One guy texts me for hours providing me different information and quotes not listed in the prior emails form the company. This happened for both quotes. Additionally, the tie breaker on the deal was they wanted different rates for time needed to move (there was NO exact number). THEY DO NOT DO IN HOME QUOTES LIKE OTHER LARGE MOVING COMPANIES SUCH AS COLEMAN AND ALLIED WORLDWIDE. You as a customer have to do all the work then foot the deposits. When I told them I wanted to hold off on additional deposits because I wanted to get quotes and proposals from other companies they simply told me it's best to cancel my move until I was ready or sure because I was blocking their other appointments. They make you feel very pressured into paying deposits to book a move... This is the worst part of it all: After I canceled my move due to going with a more professional company they kept $50 of my deposit money!!! SO I PAID THEM TO DO WORK FOR THEM FOR A PROPER PROPOSAL AND THEY STILL KEPT PART OF MY DEPOSITS! In the future I WILL Not hire them. I deeply regret this because I love to support fellow veteran business owners. Although everyone at this company I conversed and corresponded with was gracefully kind they just aren't organized in communication and have no true structure when quoting the scope of work for a move. read more

Three movers arrived on time and were efficient, hard-working, careful and had excellent attitudes during a difficult moving process. I came to google to read the reviews about this company and man was I duped. I had my movers show up at 9:25 and leave at 12:25. But since the GPS showed that they "showed up" at 9:13 I was charged an extra $200. Now, normally a company would speak to the employees to confirm my complaint since the gentlemen who came to pack admitted they parked at and went to the wrong house but no. He nicely took off 15 of the 30 minutes but continued to tell me he was doing me a favor. I tried to cancel my move 69 hours before the move date but since it's within the 72 hours I'm on the hook for $1,100. Instead of doing the right thing and saving face where I could've walked away happy they decided money was worth more than good customer service once again. Do not believe everything you read because I'm now concerned because I tried to to cancel that they will be adding on even more "fees" to my move. I will never use them again and I recommend you find a reputable company to anyone thinking of using them. On a positive note, the gentlemen that came to do the packing were friendly and professional and apologetic for their mistake. So there's that at least. Note: I received the bill at 12:27 and handed the cash over right then. But when I brought this up to another manager, I was told that since they didn't turn the truck in until 12:46, the time it took to speak to the person I was paying, that I should've been charged for that time too. they will nickel and dime you for every cent and tell you you're the problem. read more

This was the second time I've used this mover, and I'm completely satisfied with their service. It's important to remember that they work BY THE HOUR and not by the job. While they will provide an estimate, they emphasize it's ONLY an estimate and the cost may be more or less. In my case, I "guesstimated" the time required to perform the move, and I was pleasantly surprised that the movers Braulio, Drew and Richard were WAY faster than I thought they would be, so the resulting charge was substantially less than I had estimated. Additionally, the moving crew was friendly and personable! Extra points for smiles! Their communications leading up to the move (including a "here's how to prepare for your move" video) were helpful. We cannot recommend Big Man's Moving company to anyone! We hired Big Man's Moving company to move furniture from our rental house back to our renovated home due to hurricane Helene. Big Man's Moving company was chosen based on a video produced by Josh and Brooke Anderson, the company owners. In addition to the standard moving charges, they were contracted to move a large safe at an additional cost. We were assured, they possessed the technical ability and the necessary equipment to produce a favorable outcome. In reality, they had neither the equipment nor the knowledge on how to move the safe. They did not know how to load, unload and transport a large safe. The Big Man's Moving company attempted to push the safe across 20 feet of grass which resulted in an additional four hours added to the move and damage to the outside of the safe. The safe was finally loaded onto the truck and placed on its side. This caused all the shelves to come unhinged, and the contents of valuable collectibles to fall to the floor. Much of our watch collection was damaged as well as other valuable collectibles. Regarding the furniture, our new leather furniture, receive tears on all three pieces. We were prepared to pay up to $2000 even though the estimate was $1500. In the end we paid the $2000 and we're charged an additional $1039.50!! The safe was left in the middle of our driveway visible from the street. We had to hire another company to move the safe into our house. Our master bedroom furniture was left at the other house and never moved by them. In our attempt to negotiate the high charges, the damages, the safe not being moved into our house, and the left behind furniture, we were told they could not help us. They were only willing to send a leather repair man for the couches but only if we signed a document promising that we would never say anything derogatory about their company or service. I should have read the most recent reviews because this company is 0 stars!! I am so incredibly dissatisfied in these services - you are charged almost $300 an hour for sub par work. The crew was slow, lazy, sloppy inattentive. Sustained damage and was charged almost $3000 in fees over 2 days of packing and moving - when I tried to speak with management the owner Joshua snubbed my calls and the "manager" Dave was a joke at correcting the issue. They do not care about customer service /wants or needs and he continuously blamed me the customer that I "did not alert them sooner" of the issues.... When I have a newborn, toddler to take care of and a crew in my home I am worried will retaliate and/or damage my property if I say anything. This company is 10000% not worth the insane prices and does not live up to the reviews online. Do not make the same mistake as us. read more
