Get it as clean as they can and try to strip away with pressure washer any unwanted marks/stains, and also in my case a previous seal coating that was done poorly or poor product (or both). Some stains you just won't get out and Jason was honest about what he would try to do. Happy with the results all the way around. They did it right. Waited for right weather conditions. Sometimes it pays to hire a professional that has the right tools - we all have the know-how....right?! You need the right tools for the best results. Money well spent. He personally checked over the job at every step to make sure things were right from one part of the process to the next and so on. He even got in there himself like any other "worker bee". He is very conscious about taking pride in his work and final product. That's how it should be. That's how you build a business and stay in business. Thank you Jason - and same to your crew. They cleaned up the area afterwards which is always a plus in my opinion. Before starting the work (James, the supervisor) explained what they would be doing. After completing the work (James) went into detail a second time on what they had done, what to expect, how long to wait before painting and gave me a great tip on what paint to use. I was even given a military discount on the cost, another plus in my opinion.

When he gets pressed for money, he ceases communication (and work). Ulitmately, he failed to complete the project having been paid 95% of the money and refused to return calls after telling me week after week (for months) that he would finish next week. Kitchen hood was not level, granite backsplash did not connect evenly at corner, failed to complete grout on floor (where he stagged kitchen equipment), incorrectly cut cabinet trim and installed crown molding meant for top of cabinet on bottom (read the instructions - now I have to reorder $1k worth of trim materials), electrical lighting boxes not level, etc etc. Had to pay another contractor to come finish the work and was delighted with what they did in a single day. The quality delta was staggering, and it was a handyman carpenter from Angie's list. And never cleaned up work. Cleaning the dust and debris after Mike's crew was finished was a daily task for my family. Still need to remove the knock down finish that he over-sprayed onto doorway trim.

I was looking to get under cabinet…read morelighting, a barn door installed, and a light switch to turn off kitchen lights on another side of the kitchen so I wouldn't have to walk across the house to turn on the kitchen lights. I made an appointment online, but did not hear from anyone, I waited a couple of days, and then phoned the number listed. I did speak to Mike and informed him of what I wanted. He indicated that they could do that and he'd get one of his guys out to check out what I wanted, and to get the work started for the light switch on the other side of the kitchen. The week came, and then went.... and I did not receive a call or hear anything about someone stopping by to do the work. One week later, I called again and touched base with Mike stating I must have been confused, as I thought he was going to send someone over sometime that first week to look at what I wanted. He apologized, and did end up coming that same day. We went over things, and the plane was hatched. They started work about 2 or 3 days later (cannot really remember). The under cabinet lighting is amazing, the plates are different than the original plates, but I love my under cabinet lighting so I will deal. I even asked how do I get the one plate to look like the original. The barn door was a normal sized door.... So when you rolled the door shut, you could peak through the sides to see inside the bedrooms. I remember asking how we can make it so that the door blocks the view of the bedrooms because that was the intention in the first place... and they came up with a plan to provide a piece of weather stripping (which costs me $75.00 that I found out about at the very end of the job for an additional 7 foot piece of rubber weather stripping. My original estimate was $1850.... I put half down $925 down and the remaining balance of $925 was due at completion of work. I will state that once the work started, there were some time discrepancies on the business end. I would be told they would be at my home at 9 a.m. but then get a text the following morning (way after 9) stating they will not be there until 2:00 (with an explanation) - and finally showing up at around 3:00 or later. This wasn't a one time occurrence, it was throughout the work. Once the work was completed (and this was weeks later because we had days where I was told they would be here working, but they never showed up), and Mike called to explain and then asked me if I was mad at him. There was an issue trying to get my kitchen lights set up on a dimmer, and finally, I just said forget about dimming them, I just want the switch on the other side of the kitchen so I don't have to walk across the entire house to turn the kitchen lights on and off.... The invoice was $75.00 more when I received my final invoice. This is due to that strip of weather stripping! When I saw the invoice, I told Mike I was a little taken aback by him charging me an additional $75.00 for the barn door, and this is where he informed me that since they couldn't get my light switch to work, and had to make additional trips to Lowe's to figure it out, he had to make up the money someplace! So did I just hear you tell me you charged me for trips to Lowes? I will have to say that I would not recommend My Uncle Mikes Quality Services to any other neighbors, and I will not be using them in the future. The lack of communication, the additional trip to Lowes that you will need to cover, and just saying that you will be here to work, and you don't' hear from them for a couple of days makes me say I would not recommend nor use them for future jobs. As I sit here and wait after being told by Mike that Shawn will reach out to me to finish up the door handle issue on my barn door, I have a feeling I will not hear from them again. Now I have a handle inside my door incomplete and I do not have the necessary tools to complete it.... Just beware...... On another note, his electrician was courteous, conscientious and a great worker, and was always trying to do the right thing.

Ocean Roofing is AWFUL. Do not use this company. They re-roofed my house prior to me purchasing it…read more I bought the home thinking I had a brand new roof and would be set for quite some time. I was completely wrong. I experienced a leak in the roof. Called Joe Western from Ocean Roofing to come out and fix the leak and he was impossible to get a hold of. I finally called another roofing company who promptly answered my call and came out and fixed the problem. This roofing company informed me that the work done on my roof by OCEAN Roofing was not up to code and they were shocked it passed inspection. Shingles were not laid out properly with the spacing needed to specification, the underlayment is visible at certain seams due to shingles not being laid out properly, and many other issues. I called Joe about this and he finally agreed to come out and look at my roof and told me that the other roofing company was lying and that shingles are supposed to sag because it is "hot" in Florida. I have now involved the county inspector who has come out and agreed that the roof should have never passed inspection. The county inspector was able to get ahold of Joe and the inspector and Joe met at my house to look at the roof. After this meeting, Joe agreed to make the fixes to my roof. It's been over a month since then and Joe continues to give myself and the county inspector the run around. He tells us he will come by on a certain date and never shows up. Absolutely awful company and person! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR CONTRACTOR THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER.
