I hired Central Florida Pavers Pros in April 2025 for a driveway project and paid $2,737.44 up front at the owner's request (deposit plus PayPal fee). The owner, Darvin Boseman, specifically asked me to send the deposit through PayPal's "Friends and Family" option, claiming it would speed up the process. What he didn't mention is that this payment method offers no buyer protection. Now that I'm trying to get my money back, PayPal won't allow me to file a dispute because of how he told me to send it. I believe this was intentional. For three months, I was strung along with excuses -- weather, supply chain issues, and "next week" promises -- but no work was ever started. After finally requesting a refund, he agreed, but continues to delay and tie repayment to his own vendor issues, which has nothing to do with our agreement. I still have not received my refund, and I have a signed contract, proof of payment, and months of messages showing delays, broken promises, and his acknowledgment that I'm owed a refund. UPDATE: After weeks of requesting a refund and him telling us that he is sending it to us (nothing received) we are over it. At this point we are moving forward with filing a police report for fraud/scamming and also filing a civil suit against him. We are not the only ones he has done this to. We have texts and emails to back everything up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We paid them a 50% deposit via a check on 2/7 for a patio to be done. Since then they have given us multiple dates that they would be out to complete the work but have never showed back up. Always a no show with no communication. Last message we received was on 5/29 saying they would be out 6/2 to complete the job. Again no show. Except now they have completely stopped responding to us. Mr. Darvin promised me he will give it back due to never started work two months into the contract, never started to work. Communication has been very non-to pour. He stopped taking my phone calls and stop answering my emails and text he has yet to give me my money back for the deposit he's promising. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. When I first contacted Darwin, he seemed like a diligent and trustworthy person. He told me he would handle the HOA permits and assured me there was nothing to worry about. I gave him $1,350 as a deposit. But he never submitted the HOA application, and I never received any proof of the purchase for the pavers. Instead, he kept lying, saying he was still waiting on HOA approval. Trying to get my deposit back has been another nightmare. He says he'll issue a refund, but only after countless phone calls and messages from my side. Darvin is not trustworthy. He has the gift of persuasion, but lacks morals. My husband and I paid him over $7000 to pave or driveway, steps, porch and walkway. No permit was pulled because no one from the county came out to inspect his work, the driveway is not leveled, therefore pavers are cracking and sinking after 1 week. I had to pay another company to finish my steps because they were incomplete and pavers began to lift immediately after being applied, porch and walkway was done poorly, uneven pavers, poor cuts, no leveling sand on the entire job. We also gave him a deposit of $450 to put up posts and wrap them with pavers, but he took our deposit, lied about coming out to install them and was never heard from again. We got in contact with the company in July. We had some issues that caused delays on our end due to a screen enclosure. Once the work got started in December, it took MONTHS to get them to complete the pavers, which didn't happen until March. We paid for a footer to be installed for a screen enclosure, but they couldn't do the job right and they only refunded a partial amount due to "work being done" even though another company had to fix the mess. We also paid for an additional 5 feet of pavers as well as to have them fix pipes they had to cut to install the pavers and we have been waiting weeks again to have that done. Every week they're too busy to come do the work. We spent over $2000 on work they didn't start or do correctly. The pavers they installed look nice, but they left wood and pipes and mounds of dirt everywhere. My grass is now dying because the irrigation is broken and they tried to claim that because they refunded me for the footer, that they didn't think they needed to do the other job that was already paid in full. STAY AWAY! We paid the Owner $1,350 to replace the pavers in our driveway at our townhome rental. He said he would handle approval from the HOA but never followed through, so we requested a refund. It was excuse after excuse until we finally received $1,000 back (in 2 separate $500 transactions because apparently "his bank will not allow more than $500 per day transactions") . Our job was bit complicated because of our backyard being on a hill. They did amazing! They were very professional and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. I had high hope for Dj and his uncle and crew. They came and started building my patio, pergola & fireplace. When they finished part of the fireplace and part of the pergola, they asked for payment of the work they had complete led. (We disscussed the items that still need to be polished up and complete. I've never heard from his again. I'm attempted 20 phone calls 20 text messages.. nothing. He left his equipment and just roll bounced. Don't trust this person and don't pay them unless they completely the job 100%. So shameful that a skilled personal with a son and family would scam people like this. We paid to have the back patio and front porch resanded and sealed in December. After 4 months, the sand is coming up in the back and stains are showing in the front - all showing the pavers were either not sealed and paid for and discussed or they just did a terrible job.
