The result was a spider web look ("crazing cracks") and a pad not properly squared. So when it came to installing a 130 foot concrete driveway, I passed on this guy. I tried to get a price from an Allegan guy named Randy. He said he would come out and look at the Job but he no showed and no call to waive off the job. Two other guys came out but they were not licensed and their prices were too high. My neighbor suggested I call Valley Concrete owned by Matt Knight. I called and Matt came over that night. He gave me a price the same day. I verified that he was licensed as required by law. His price was fair and lower than the other guys. I hired Matt and he installed the new driveway within a few weeks. He chose Hamilton Ready Mix who supplied a quality mix. I had no fears that Matt would not pay his suppliers and employees. I would highly recommend Valley Concrete to other customers. He provided a very good product in a timely fashion at a fair and reasonable price.

All 3 leaked and flooded our basement after heavy rains. Gold Star dug out the wells, reserved & replaced the gravel, sand, soil, & bark, and used tar & rubber to waterproof the exterior. Unfortunately, the customer service experience overshadowed the quality of the work. Our original quote needed adjustment because the fence placement was off-center from the house. We reviewed a drawing and agreed to updates, but a revised invoice was never provided. When the crew arrived, they were unaware of the changes. After receiving the invoice, I reached out requesting a breakdown of the additional charges, as it wasn't clear--but never received a response. The company later claimed they had emailed multiple times, but there is no record of those messages--only unrelated marketing emails. The situation escalated when the owner showed up unannounced and repeatedly knocked on our door while we were both working from home on important calls. When we attempted to pay, every option included additional fees, including ACH. At this point, the fence itself looks great, but the communication, billing clarity, and overall customer service made the process far more stressful than it should have been. Unfortunately, not worth the effort or continued frustration.

Honestly one of the worst experience with a trade company I've had recently…read more My wife and I were in the process of buying a home and there was water issues in the crawl space that needed to be remedied before the sale went through, so we called this company to have them waterproof our foundation. After the $13000 bill and "finish" of the project we noticed water still in the crawl space and our back step mysteriously pitched towards the house. We didn't think much of it because we had bigger projects to tackle. Fast forward a few months and it's time to figure out what happened. We call and explain the situation, and somehow it doesn't fall under warranty. They offer to come look at what's going on and potentially have to finish the project, for another $1500 plus $1000 to take out the step. We consider this to be ridiculous and attempt to take the step out ourself (which we do after another week of back breaking work), only to discover that they dug under our step, likely the cause of the collapse and pitch towards the house and only placed 6 inches of barrier without even attaching it to the house. Now after about 5 calls with no contact back I'm for ed to leave this review warning other homeowners from working with this crooked company. PLEASE STAY AWAY.
