The creek paddle is full of wild life from frogs, turtles, ducks, geese, cranes, and even cows out in a pasture. The boaters pay attention to the rules of "no wake." As we left the dock and headed out into the SENECA River, Annette gave us a history of the Erie ( now called "Barge") canal. Our captain contributed a few stories to make it even more interesting. As we glided down the River on our pontoon boat, we saw sea birds both at the rivers edge and in flight. As we got ready to go through the Baldwinsville lock, the lock tender gave us some info on the equipment. This is the oldest operating lock in the system. After going through the lock, we stopped and picked up lunch from a man working for the Angry Smokehouse. We had a delicious lunch on the return trip. The crew couldn't be more gracious and we had a blast. There is a bar on board the boat, which made trip even better! Check out the website for the list of tours available.
