The mandatory follow-up felt disorganized and impersonal. All patients were scheduled at the same time, which made the process feel rushed and overcrowded rather than patient-focused. The "lifetime warranty" was emphasized in a way that felt more like pressure than a benefit. I was told the follow-up appointment would take 15-20 minutes, but it ended up taking closer to two hours. For comparison, the actual procedure only took about 40 minutes. There didn't seem to be much respect for patients' time, and I was not given the option to reschedule. Hearing explanations about staffing call-outs during an appointment related to my vision did not inspire confidence. Bottom line: great results from the procedure itself, but the customer service and follow-up experience need significant improvement.

Michelle Murray was incredible--she guided me through every step of the process, answered all of my questions with patience and compassion, and gave me hope when other doctors had turned me away or failed to show the same level of care and understanding. Her kindness, knowledge, and encouragement made all the difference for me. Dr. Michelle Diaz, who performed my LASIK procedure, was equally amazing. She was professional, reassuring, and highly skilled, making me feel completely confident and at ease on surgery day. The procedure itself was quick, smooth, and much easier than I expected. Because of the outstanding care I received from both Michelle Murray and Dr. Diaz, I will absolutely be recommending Atlantic Eye to my family--not only for LASIK, but also for regular eye care appointments as well. It is rare to find a team that combines expertise with genuine compassion, and Atlantic Eye has truly earned my trust and my family's future business.

I feel that because my appointment was made through the VA I wasn't as high of a priority as the others who arrived well after me. The front desk representatives were not rude, but they certainly were not friendly. The GPS location on Apple Maps brings you to the front parking lot of the building to where there isn't a sign telling you where to go for the office. I had to call the eye institute to ask where the place was and the person told me she didn't know because she worked for a third party call vendor. Also, check the waivers they ask you to sign regarding third party sharing - I would not recommend approving. All around efforts earned a 0. The silver lining is that I provided my feedback to the VA to ensure other veterans can receive community care at a vendor who does appreciate their business - not this location.

My eye was swollen, my vision started to become blurry, and it was uncomfortable. I called Atlantic Eye Institute to see if they could fit me in for a same day appointment. I was NOT holding out hope, but when I called I was pleasantly surprised they had something open that afternoon. When I arrived I filled out virtual paperwork, and then waited in the lobby until my name was called. I can't remember the nurse I had, but she was pleasant, asked a bunch of questions regarding the state of my eye, did some observations, and then walked me to an open room. Dr. Diaz came in happy as a clam. Greeted me with a nurse. I told her I was sorry that my eye looked disgusting and she smiled and said these are interesting to us. So that made me feel somewhat better. After looking at my eye, she decided to drain the stye, due to the size, the discomfort I was having. It didn't hurt, she prescribed me a steroid antibiotic cream, and made me a follow up appointment and I was on my way. I was happy and grateful they could fit me in on the same day, because I was miserable before I came in.

I came in for my procedure at 8:30, and I was done by 9:10AM. It was super duper fast and efficient. I met with Doctor Ireland, very professional and nice guy, he went over everything before we went in the operation room, and the machine pretty did all the work. Procedure: I took Valium to calm my nerves before I went in for my lasik procedure, because I knew I would freak out due to my fear of pain. But the actualy laser only took less than 2 minutes for one eye, and they used plenty of numbing gel and drops so I didnt feel any pain, just a bit of pressure. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. After I left the clinic, the numbing medication was still in my eye so I felt fine. But after an hour later, the burning and itching started coming in, I was not able to touch my eye so I took some Tylenol and forced myself to take a nap. Woke up 4 hours later, felt much much better. The next day, all the burning sensation went away, I woke up like a new person, I could see very clear now without glasses The optometrist followed up with me the day after surgery and then I went in on the 3rd day for my post-op appointment, the healing process is smooth and quick. So.. I would say this whole experience was worth it!! I highly recommend this Lasik institute because everyone at the clinic was very helpful, professional and friendly. Message me if you have any questions about the procedure or the healing process :)

Once I entered she greeted me, then offered hers assistance by discovering my needs. The other people waiting in the area with me seemed at ease awaiting those they've come to retrieve or accompany the subject. The flat screen was tuned into informational testimonials of real people, not actors (taking them at their word) excited about seeing without glasses or contacts for the first time while retrieving the morning paper, watching tv, or nature in all if it's vibrant seasonal beauty for the first time. Happy happy joy joy but I'm still happy wearing glasses for my seeing needs. As I waited, the receptionist made certain I was updated accordingly. She had a great sense of humor and bantered well with the doctors and persons waiting. Her humor was infectious and I was convinced she loved her job. She should take her show on the road. Every office needs a front end representative who sets the tone of the establishment and other back end doctors and assistants were just as engaging with her and the people. My friend who I was chauffeuring due to his procedure picked the best office to have this done. Again, I wasn't a patient nor in the market for this service. However, I can say I found this place worth Yelping it out.

My eyes were so bad that my optometrist would not give me a new glasses prescription. I was so blind I could no longer read street signs or see traffic lights well, especially if I had the sun in my face. I like Dr. Schnipper. He has a quirky personality. Some of his staff however, especially in the surgical center, could use some CS training. While I was laying on the gurney waiting my turn to go into surgery, there was a lot of in-house gossip going on around me. I found that to be rather unprofessional. I'm glad my first surgery on my right eye was a much more pleasant experience compared to my second visit for my left eye. The IV insertion was nothing the first time. I barely felt it go in and when it came out all I was left with was a tiny red dot. The second time, OMG, I walked out of there looking like my hand had been slammed in a car door. The person that tried to do this IV destroyed my hand. There was no hope of finding a vein so then she tried my arm. A week later and I still have a big bruise from that. Do NOT let the lady with blonde hair in bob style with bangs do your IV. Ask for somebody else. If she had been the one to do my first IV, I would have been terrified to go back for my second surgery. I felt like I was being stung by bees. I added pictures just to show I am NOT being overly dramatic. It's a week later now and my hand is still bruised up, just not as dark now.

They're shoveling bodies into the disorganized waiting room where the average wait time seems to be over an hour. My comment is towards whoever is mismanaging the appointment and patient intake process. Stop scheduling people 15 minutes apart when you know full well the average wait time is over an hour. Your staff and all of the patients will appreciate it.

Multiple locations are available in the greater Jacksonville area (see listing at the end of this review) with a branch office at St. Augustine, Florida. This is a brand new branch office setup at this location as of June 2021. All of the equipment appears as cutting edge and the latest technology available for this disciplinary area of medical work. The staff is a marvel of efficiency. The appointment, check-in, and eye examination staff are cheerful, accomodating, experienced and professional. We were lucky to get a supervisor during our office who has experience training other staff members and working a several locations with this business. My turn-around time for a visit? Less than two hours. Here's the breakdown. * About 45-minutes for a series of extensive tests; * About 15-minutes with the surgeon who will cite the diagnoses, recommend care/surgery, and lay out options and costs for care/surgery. Most importantly, he takes the time necessary to answer all questions. * About 20-minutes with the surgery scheduler/coordinator in my case to arrange options, payments, and the execution of legal documents * Miscellaneous time for checkout, the purchase of supplies needed for post-operative care * Two surgeries setup with 30-days of the initial visit. The surgeon during our visit was Dr. Amit Chokshi, a sharp, impressive, clear-minded practitioner and a pleasure with whom to interact. If you need surgery, all work of this nature occurs at the Southpoint Surgery Center, 7051 Southpoint Parkway, Jacksonville, Florida, tel: (904)-854-4854. If you need surgery, you'll need to visit a family doctor or other practitioner to get a pre-op clearance. This business requires this clearance within 30-days of the procedure.
