This place is exceptional. I found it on Yelp and loved all the great reviews. I need new glasses since I had a brain meningioma removed and so I called. The doctor suggested I come right over. His staff were slightly confused when I arrived but the doctor came out and was so welcoming. They gave me a comprehensive examination and helped me select a beautiful pair of feather weight Italian frames. I stopped by 2 days later and they weren't ready yet but told me come back next week as the polycarbonate ultra light lenses takes more time to grind. They all remembered me and were so kind. The whole appointment and the ultra uber glasses are less than $450 us. read more

I am visiting PV and yesterday my frame was bent and needed to be corrected. I went here and they fixed it perfectly in less than 10 minutes. I guess a screw needed to be adjusted. Very friendly and accommodating and they did not charge me. Highly recommended! read more

I somehow lost the rubber tip on the end of one side of glasses, so the metal frame was exposed. I found Eye Metrics via Yelp and stopped by to see if they could help. The helpful optometrist said they may not find a perfect replacement, but something that would work. I stopped by an hour later and he had a great option. Ten minutes later I had my glasses fixed! Got some new glasses here. They were very professional didn't try and oversell me and I walked out with a nice pair that of Italian framed glasses. Actually I had to come back to pick them up after leaving the deposit and they beat their timeline. I had to leave town in a few days and they were able to accommodate me. I had read reviews of various opticians in Puerto Vallarta and chose Eye Metrics based on excellent reviews. I only have usable vision in one eye so you can imagine just how important proper eye care is to me. I met with Dr. David Regla and his staff who are all very professional yet very friendly and strive to give the best service. I speak very little spanish but it was no problem conversing with Dr.( David ) Regla in english. He reviewed my eye wear prescription and discussed his recommendations for lenses and frames also suggesting Transition Lenses to automatically adjust to light conditions. I placed my order on a Thursday and was notified the following Thursday that my new glasses were ready to be picked up. David has my years experience and checked for proper fit of my new glasses. He is a wonderful person to deal with and I'm very happy that I chose Eye Metrics. Also, the optic quality on my new lenses seemed much sharper then my old pair of glasses which had the same prescription specifications. read more

On a recent, and my first, trip to Puerta Vallarta, I tripped in my hotel suite and fell on top of my glasses, sending the right arm of them in an upright position. It was clear that if I tried to move the arm back I would likely break it off, possibly causing irreparable damage. Since they are prescription trifocals, I wear them all the time! I was very distraught as it was only day two of my trip and I wanted to see much more of this beautiful new place, not to mention be able to read the menu of all the fabulous places we intended to eat, including Nacho Daddy's, which is where I received the referral to this wonderful facility. The technician who repairs glasses was gone for the day but the doctor kindly stepped in and offered to repair my glasses and then would not accept payment! WOW and THANK YOU is all I can say. I cannot express how kind he was to help me. My stress level went back to beach status and my glasses are still perfect as I type this review. I knew I was going to seek out a place to get new eye glasses while in PV. My good fortune to discover this place. A small little shop easy to find & a pleasant walk at that. David, the owner was gracious & a true gentleman. Great humor & speaks both Spanish & English. FREE eye exam! He has a very nice selection of fashionable frames to choose from. I purchased TWO new pair of glasses. Unbelievable economic prices. As promised, I received an email when my glasses were ready to be picked up! Great service. I was given full itemized receipts to present at kiosk at airport to receive a credit on the tax charged !!!! Credit cards accepted. Lens popped out of my expensive prescription sunglasses. Owner was super nice and quick. Got the lens back in and didn't charge me; however we gave him a nice tip. Coincidentally, my friend had to have her sunglasses repaired the next day. The screw fell out. Same thing, no charge... but we tipped anyways. Walked me through all the process for transitions with actual darkening light so I could see how dark. Need to have for previous retina surgery. Broke my glasses in security - it was chaotic and I somehow snapped them off hefting my bag up and around someone else's bin - anyway, didn't notice I had no way to read or work until I was already on the plane. Decided to wander into an Optometrist, rather than picking up some more cheap readers. I was asked to come back 20 minutes later so that the Optometrist could properly examine my eyes. I haven't had an eye exam in a few years but this was more extensive and detailed than what I had in Vancouver. He arrived at his conclusion, helped me pick out some beautiful frames and then offered to replace the lenses in my Tiffany & Co sunglasses which he said were no longer protecting my eyes from the sun. ALL in, I'm looking at $250 Canadian for prescription any glare reading lenses in an Italian frame and new lenses custom cut to fit my sunglasses. Wear glasses? Go there. read more

I had problems with the anti glare coating on my glasses from home coming off while here in PV. I went and saw Dr David at Eye-metrics. He said they would try their best to remove the coating but "no guarantee ". I left them for a couple of hours and when I returned they were repaired and I could see clearly again. I tried to pay them but they insisted that there was no charge. Wow. I I'm returning home this week so it's too late this year but I'm going to get a new pair of glasses there next year when we come down. read more

We were at the beach when my frames just broke for no apparent reason. I searched for an optical place close to our hotel and found this place. They are very accommodating and very reasonable. We came in at around 530ish and they said to pick up the glasses the next day between 12-2pm. We called at 12 and they said that its ready. We paid 150 pesos which is about $7.91 usd. read more

We went with no appointment and the doctor saw me right away and provided me the best service I have ever received. I am from Canada, we have very good optometrists, but this man is the most caring person I have ever meet. This place is great. I left my glasses in the backseat of a taxi the other day. I went into Eye Metrics yesterday morning with my prescription from the states and came back that afternoon with nice frames and lenses. The last pair of eyeglasses I got was in Cancun 3 years ago and now they have paint on them and a couple of scratches. Before I left for Puerto Vallarta this year, I tried to make an eye appointment here in Canada but they were booking more than 30 days in advance. So I called Eye Metrics in Puerto Vallarta and booked an appointment for January 2. David is so funny and interesting. He said only my middle prescription changed but only miniscule amount and new eyeglasses would not be required. Since mine were damaged, I tried on frames until I found the right one. David tried to have them done before I left but because of the antiglare, it took an extra day (6 days total). They were delivered to me at home by courier as promised within the week after I returned. Definitely worth seeing David if you're in PV! Thank you, David!!!! read more

After the kind interaction I had with the owners, and finding out how affordable a new pair of glasses would be, I decided to just go ahead and get a brand new pair. My glasses were ready in 3 days.
