For me the feeling I get walking into a dentist office is akin to entering a room stacked high with tarantulas, and I fear spiders the way Indiana Jones feared snakes. But the excellent dedicated folks at Waverly Dental Care have managed to make going to the dentist something I no longer dread, bordering on a pleasant experience. Over the past four years or so I've had fillings put in, as well as numerous checkups, cleanings, etc. In all instances Dr. Salibian is what I would call a great dentist, and I know this for certain having in the past experienced some very bad dentists. One particular ordeal at a Gentle Dental in Brookline, where the man started drilling before the novocaine had set in, evoked all my worst Laurence Olivier in Marathon Man evil dentist nightmares. "Is it safe?" indeed. Dr. Salibian understands that on one level or another most everyone feels this way, and so the accent is on friendly and personable, with him as well as his Hygienist Toni (who is always upbeat, often hilarious and beautiful to boot) and Jen the pleasant and efficient coordinator at the desk up front . There is the palpable sense that these people really enjoy their jobs, are actually interested in the whole concept of dentistry and are completely dedicated to the well being of their patients. As for the hardware, the facilities are top notch all around. The offices are clean and the equipment is up to the highest industry standards. The magazines in the waiting room are even actually worth reading. But I've never gotten much chance to get into any of them in much depth, because I've never been kept waiting long. A 9:30 appt means you will be looked at by 9:45 at the latest, although there have been many times when I've gone directly in for care as soon as I arrive. I'm writing this glowing review because I really do appreciate what Dr. Salibian and his practice has done for me, the concern they have shown for my choppers, and the way they have managed to put my concerns about going to the dentist way down on my list of fears. I recently became a patient at Waverly Dental Care, after a very high recommendation from a colleague. One of the best decisions that I have made! I experienced a bad encounter years ago at another dental office, and had many reservations about going to the dentist from that point on. After several visits now to Dr. Salibian's office, I can freely say that I have found a dentist that I will go to on a regular basis for my dental care. From the first visit, I was put at ease. Toni, the hygenist does a tremendous job, not only of cleaning teeth, but of explaining each procedure before moving forward, she is very friendly and caring, a real professional. Jenny, who works at the front desk, is very outgoing and personable, and explained everything about my dental insurance coverage very thoroughly. Her welcoming attitude as you enter the office helps alleviate the usual anxiety of going into a dental visit. Dr. Salibian was kind and professional. I had no anxiety during my dental procedure, as he explained each step in detail before beginning. He is a master of his craft! Absolutely the best, most down-to-earth dentist and staff. I've been a patient for three years now and have only had positive experiences. Dr. Salibian does his work thoroughly and professionally, and always seems to look out for your best interests not only in terms of dental health, but also financially. He's smart, funny and makes it a very comfortable experience. Waverly's resident hygienist, Toni, is simply amazing. I've written reviews of this elsewhere for good reason: she does the best cleanings I've ever seen. Why? She's completely OCD about getting every stain and every bit of build-up she can. But she is gentle, kind, and has an infectious laugh (even when the patient's jokes aren't funny). Jenny, who manages the practice, is thorough and very friendly. Any time I've asked for help or special arrangements, she's been on top of it ASAP. These three make quite a team, and it's beginning to feel like a family. I am 90 years old and over the many years, and in several different parts of the country, have been under the care of about a dozen dentists prior to Dr Salibian. Several of my prior dentists were superior. I would, however, rank Dr. Salibian as the very best. Over the past ten years he has provided me with an array of dental treatments and services. Appointments are pleasant experiences, beginning with the professional courtesy of Dr. S and his staff and continuing through the surprisingly painless and extraordinarily efficient and proficient execution of the prescribed procedure - drilling, filling, extraction, root canal, denture construction etc. His clinical and operating skills, and fundamental understanding and implementation of the most advanced dental techniques and technologies (for example, laser systems) are impressive. I have been going to Waverley Dental for my dental care since 2001, when Dr. Salibian opened his practice. Since my early teens, I'd been going to the two dentists, brothers, whose practice he acquired; one was a teacher of his at Tufts School of Dental Medicine. I've seen the practice grow under his care. All along, I have found Dr. Salibian and his staff to be extremely attentive and and careful. He always explains the purposes of procedures and makes my options clear. Though Dr. Salibian will occasionally make a suggestion, I don't feel as if I've been sold unnecessary services. He takes me on time (though it probably helps that I usually schedule appointments for 9:00 AM). The practice has moved from an obscure office building to one that is clean, modern, and appears to me to be up to date. Dr. Salibian is always friendly, cordial, and professional. read more

Dr. Salibian has been my dentist since he opened his office in Belmont, I think for about 10 years or so. I've had only 4 dentists in my entire life, and he's one of the best! He runs a single-dentist practice with one hygienist and a receptionist. From crowns to tooth whitening to regular old fillings, I've received excellent care, and my teeth and gums are in great shape due to his preventative focus. instead of the larger assembly-line practices, this is a place where everyone knows your name, you get personalized care, and have access to the most up-to-date treatments. The BEST dentist ever. I came from another dentist who wasn't proactive in my care or taking good care of my teeth/gums. I had some bleeding and pockets and needed a new cap. Dr. Saliban fixed all my problems quickly and without my needing oral surgery. I have never seen better cap installations. I have a cap on my front tooth which no one now even knows is a cap... its so perfectly matched. I actually even enjoy going to the dentist now for my regular cleanings....which I should mention his staff is both helpful and efficient and have great personalities. I was so happy to find this dental practice. I have been here a few years now and very glad to be here. The whole team is very professional, prompt and thorough in their work. The dental hygienist Toni is especially nice and it's nice to be comfortable in a place where you have to go! They have some amazing equipment in their office and the water treatment used as part of the cleaning makes it much more relaxing. Honestly I feel like I could fall asleep during a dental cleaning..I never thought a cleaning could be so much easier.! Everybody is very nice at the Waverley Dental Care, not only do they provide excellent, top of the line care, but they are also great people who are very friendly and very welcoming. who likes dentists right?? I do have to say though, Dr. Salibian is fantastic. First off, he's always on time - never waiting for my appts. Secondly, the facilities are super clean. He has this ease of confidence and has always taken care of any oral issues I have had in the past three years. His hygienist is great as well, same energy and confidence! Great Dentist! State of the art high tech equipment. I have had 3 dentists in the past with extensive work, one retired, one died and the other wasn't so good. Dr Salibian is the best.
