I wouldn't have gotten any services done had I known henna was not a service even offered apparently. I do my own eyebrow threading on myself and threading in general. Left without the service I wanted in the first place.

I have been to this place many times and never been disappointed. I love going there because they will ask you how you want your eyebrows done before touching them. when I first went there I had very thin and patchy brows and they helped me grow out my brows thicker. My wife recently went to another threading salon in the area and she got her brows messed up. We then went to this salon after a few days. The brows were still a little messed up but they were able to fix most of it and make them look a lot better. I would really recommend this place and we will be coming here again. read more

I believe I was speaking with Shelilah. I let her know my past stylist had put my long bangs/face-framing layers on a side part and I wanted it fixed to be more in the middle plus a little bit shorter. I sent her pictures and she quoted me $20 and we set an appointment. The day/time of my appointment, I arrived and texted the business number to let them know I was there. I received a text back saying they had forgotten to put my appointment on the schedule and weren't able to help me that day. They asked to reschedule, which was a bummer since I was leaving that evening for my trip but not the end of the world. We rescheduled for when I got back a week later. The next week, 20min before my appointment, I texted the business number again to confirm I was still coming to my appointment. I got a text back saying the stylist scheduled to take care of me that day had called in sick and no one else was available to help me. It was unclear who I had been scheduled with since I thought I had booked with Shelilah from the beginning. Shelilah asked if i could come in tomorrow instead and she would help me. I was surprised that I wasn't notified that my appointment was canceled. What if I hadn't texted in advance to let them know I was still coming and just showed up?. But again, not the end of the world and Shelilah said the trim would be complimentary. The next day, I got a text a few hours before my appointment asking if i could come in 2 hours early. I said I could do that and I arrived for my service. I felt I was treated as a nuisance/chore during my visit. I spent maybe five minutes in the chair, and when I was unsure I was happy about how the trim looked, Shelilah let me know anything more would be considered a full hair cut. After that remark I got up and left. I would have tipped if I had felt happy with the service but I ended up feeling unwelcome. When I got home and looked at my bangs in the mirror, they looked choppy and uneven. I texted pictures of my hair to a friend of mine who is also a hair stylist and she ended up fixing them for me. If she lived closer I would have gone with her in the first place, because wow they look so much better now! I was hoping to have found a great salon in my area that I would return to for future appointments, but the lack of customer service and poor cut made me not want to go back. I'm sure other stylists there are good, but I will be looking elsewhere since Shelilah is the owner and I had a poor experience with her. I would have preferred they let me know they weren't wanting to do such a small service rather than taking me and making me feel like a bother. I feel no matter how small the service you should treat every customer like they are important.

I was not only taken by surprise as I have been a loyal long time customer (we're talking over 15 years) and have always tipped generously. This day, I became furious. The worker here (one in particular) acts if they are doing you a favor when you are paying them for a service. She does all but roll her eyes when you come in for treatment. I have explored other hair salons (upscale) in Walnut Creek, Marin county, and San Francisco, as just like for many, I am very particular and I don't mind paying a high cost as long as the service equates to the high cost. I always find myself booking an appointment with Angelina after I have spent some time with other hair salons because she has this unique ability to put my vision into reality. She listens to what I want while she is also honest with what may or may not be the outcome. Importantly, she makes sure you are happy with the end result. And if for any reason you are not happy, she is more than willing to fix the problem without an extra charge! I have also recommended my family and friends to Angelina and they have been so happy that they have kept her as well. Although she may not serve a glass of wine or champagne (like the other upscale hair salons do) she makes every penny spent worthwhile. I live a very busy life and work in healthcare --crazy hours. I walked-in one afternoon around 2pm on a Wednesday and I told her what I wanted. She told me it would take several hours and it would require me to stay very late if I was available and willing, provided I did not make an appointment to accommodate my time. She went above and beyond working her magic on my hair in-between her other customers. She has taken her time --no rush or short cuts. We stayed until around 10:30pm. The end result was more than I expected! She even told me to look at my hair very closely the next day under daylight. And if I'm unhappy with it, to return the following day. But I'm more than happy with the result. She has also mentioned that she is open Tuesday - Saturday from morning until very late at night to accommodate busy customers like myself.
