The frame broke, just a fluke and past warranty. I had no other choice but to pay out of pocket; after further review (Tiffany) she found the broken piece was actually a manufacture issue. Within 2 weeks I had a new pair of frames and lenses. They could have easily charged me full price, considering my vision insurance paid only months prior. I asked why I was still waiting and they said they didn't know where my paperwork was but would look for it. After 10 min waiting, I left. The manager Sarah called me and wanted to rebook my appt. I asked why? I'm never seen on time. She said it is Doctor Vrostos policy that all patients are seen based upon their scheduled appointment time even if they come in 25 to 30 minutes late. What that means is if you have a 10:10 am appt and you come in 30 min late, say at 10:40 am, they are seen immediately. Pushing everyone else behind. The staff stood around gossiping for 20 minutes waiting for all these late people to show up and when they did, they were behind. What a dumb way to run a business. Sara the manager explained to me the Dr stands firm on that policy and refused to let me talk to the Doctor. She went on to say Dr V Never calls patients for complaints or issues. She then agreed that they did not respect my time or me as a patient. It's basically a waste of the Doctors time to deal with patients. I was shocked and could not believe she told me that but she told me not to wait around waiting for a call back because she will never call you back. So the manager was 100% correct a week has gone by and I've heard nothing from the doctor. You know the doctor is great, and if you only go once a year, maybe it's OK to wait that long out for an appointment. But when you go many times a year, it is totally disrespectful to be treated like that. I've already found a new doctor already have an appointment.

I have been a long-time customer of Eyecare Associates and, until recently, had experienced no issues. However, my recent encounter has left me dissatisfied and compelled to share my experience. In September, my wife and I underwent our annual eye exams at Eyecare Associates, a routine covered by our vision insurance. In November, we received an unexpected medical bill totaling $165 from Eyecare Associates. Determined to address this unexpected charge promptly, I attempted to contact their billing department for a substantial 8 hours on a weekday, only to be met with constant frustration and an inability to connect with a representative. When I eventually reached someone the following day, to my dismay, I was informed that the bill was a result of an additional test that was not covered by our vision insurance, and consequently, it was charged to our medical insurance. Perplexed, as neither my wife nor I recalled consenting to any supplementary tests, we decided to visit the Prattville office to seek clarification. Upon speaking with the office manager, we were provided with a vague explanation. He suggested that the assistant "probably" observed something in my wife's record that led them to "maybe" believe she needed additional tests. Consequently, my wife underwent these tests without any forewarning about potential extra charges. While I understand that mistakes can occur, it is the manner in which they are addressed that truly matters. Eyecare Associates' lack of transparency and communication in this situation has left me disappointed and questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction. It is disheartening to see a previously reliable establishment handle such matters with uncertainty and a seemingly indifferent attitude. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Eyecare Associates to reassess their communication protocols and ensure that customers are kept well-informed about any potential additional charges. read more

I've been going to another optometrist and HATE having to get new glasses and contacts because it's so expensive. As soon as I walked up a guy in optical named Scott started talking to me about different frames and lens options and how they could help me. But for me, it came down to the price. Dr. Bizzle (GREAT Optometrist and the exam was less than my other doctor) got my exam done and then it was off to get the glasses. I learned a long time ago to pick out glasses before they put drops in your eyes. Trust me here. Anyway, I got a pair of glasses for driving called drive wear. (They turn dark like sunglasses when you're outside) and another pair for staring at the computer all day in the office. They really helped me to read the paper work and see the computer without getting that massive headache at 3pm. Apparently it was eye strain. I also bought contacts.
