Eyecare Center in Boulder & Dr. Eric Dupuis are outstanding! While traveling I had a contact lens emergency and needed replacements right away. After looking at reviews of optometrists in the area I contacted Eyecare Center and explained my situation, without hesitation or any attitude (I run into that more and more these days), the office had me come right over. I saw Dr. Dupuis, he was great.. professional yet personable, and witty without the use of tired, corny eye jokes my eye doc back home uses. I originally had just planned to just buy a pair of replacement contacts, but Dr. Eric took the time to check my contact lens prescription to ensure it was still accurate...it wasn't. He gave me an emergency pair of contacts with my updated prescription. Their pricing on lenses was less than what my eye doc back home charges so I ended up ordering more through Eyecare Center to have mailed back to my home. The only negative is the fact they're located in Boulder and not where I live, otherwise I'd be switching to Eyecare Center & Dr. Eric for my eyecare needs. Worst customer service ever. Bought two pair of glasses and received them roughly 2 weeks ago. One of the glasses gives me double vision unless I strain to focus. Went in to see what they can do about it, waited over half an hour and then was informed that they can't see me any time soon because they have to prioritize customers that just received an exam. I have to say, I highly recommend this eyecare center! My doctor has been Dr. Dupuis for awhile and he has taken EXTREMELY great care of my eyes. Very communicative when I have questions about certain eye situations. I have had eye problems for quite awhile before coming here and he has been very attentive and genuinely cares about the healing of my eyes. He has taken the steps to make sure my eyes became healthy again. Dr. Eric Dupuis was very helpful and knowledgeable on recommending new contacts for me to try out since I have not had successful experiences with them. However once I tried the ones he recommended on, I could see and they weren't uncomfortable like past contacts I had tried. Which he had also explained to me why he chose those contacts and how they were different from the last. I wore them successfully all day without any discomfort or anything. TL;DR - I feel like I'm a low priority relative to the doctor's plans after work. (Tip: Make your appointment at the beginning of the day.) - It seemed weird to me that the doctor suggested a different type of contacts even though (a) I had no complaints about my existing brand, and (b) no other doctor has ever mentioned trying contacts without astigmatism. Theory: Maybe he was trying to justify the additional cost of a contact lens appointment since I could see fine with my old prescription. - They did not update my records in a timely manner. - I highly, highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Holland and his staff at College Optical. ===== I had two appointments here, first for a glasses prescription and a couple of months after that for a contacts prescription. Both times were with Eric Dupuis (the younger Dupuis). I scheduled my appointments at the end of the day so I could come in near the end of my own work day, and both times, I felt rushed -- it seemed like I was Dr. Dupuis' last appointment of the day, and he just wanted to get out of there. (Note: They close at 6:00. My appointments were 4:30 and 5:00.) I asked him a question (about how/why the eye changes), to which he responded, "Well, I could explain it to you, but it would take awhile" (felt like he was condescending or he didn't want to spend the time). For the past 10 years, I've worn the same brand of contacts for astigmatism. Dr. Dupuis is the first optometrist I've seen (I have seen at least six) that suggested I try contacts without astigmatism because "they're better contacts" and my "prescription is close." So I tried the sample non-astigmatism contacts, but they didn't suit me (my vision was warped, and I had headaches). I went back in to get samples with astigmatism. One of them was expired, but the front desk guy said I didn't need to worry about it. Six months later, I stopped by to get printouts of my prescriptions -- to have for my records and in case I needed to order more contacts online (vendors require a prescription dated within 12 months). I received the wrong contact lens prescription -- it was for the contacts without astigmatism, so I had to go back in, tell them it was wrong, and wait for the doctor to update the prescription to the same one I had brought in when I came in the first time. read more

They were professional and helpful when I called to ask for my prescription to be emailed to me. They are in network with my insurance which is why I went there. I did feel rushed trough the exam, like the doctor just wanted to get back to something else. I ended up ordering my new glasses from Warby Parker and the prescription is a little too strong, I wonder if this could've been resolved if I didn't feel so rushed through the exam.
