It's not a walk in the park and the second time was more harsh than the second and yes there is aftercare -- lots of eye drops! The procedures were about a half hour each. The actual cutting was just a minute or two. It's far more strange than painful. Then it's over. It's only a day or so before you're able to do things again which really isn't bad considering the benefits. However, it's been 3 years now and it still is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Dr. Wasserman is INCREDIBLY kind, steady, patient, and knowledgeable. His staff is quick to remedy any issues that come up. I've been going back for eye checkups there ever since. Office is clean. Wait times are reasonable. Location is perfect. I've sent my friends there for checkups and Lasik consultations and they've had good experiences as well. HIGHLY, highly, highly recommend!

Then proceeded to wait for over an hour in the room for this arrogant dismissive know it all to show up and not even acknowledge how late he was. I went through my 2 biggest concerns one by one and without me even finishing my explanation he told me it was nothing and just wanted to examine my daughter. When she wasn't cooperating (because she's just over a year old and had been waiting for over an hour) he was getting more and more frustrated, stopped the exam, told me nothing was wrong and to try again in 3-4 months the when my daughter was a bit more cooperative. They did not offer any treatment or follow up help to alleviate these symptoms. She is unable to go to work now and sits in a dark room with sunglasses on at all times as she has severe photophobia as well and is unable to do many of her daily tasks due them straining her eyes and triggering migraines and severe eye pain. Firstly, I want to thank the staff whom are very professional and nice. The ladies that work there are very accommodating. I was given an appointment the next day for which I was very grateful. Dr. Polishchuk dilated my eyes And I've had them dilated before but he seems sort of rough in his manner, not gentle. His diagnosis was partially on point. I should really thank him because of my experience with him which was not all that great and hence I decided to go back to my original surgeon for a second opinion at Columbia Doctors. He did not even question me about driving after my eyes were dilated or wearing sunglasses, like not concerned. Sometimes it's the little things. But in a way it all worked out because I did have at least a provisional ICD 10 diagnosis to be seen more timely by my original surgeon who performed successful (cataract surgery in 2017) on both my eyes respectively. The point is, she actually assessed through more testing that the diagnosis was applicable to both eyes not just the one eye even though it was worse in the right eye. Danielle Trief, MD Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center did much more extensive testing by far. This was a week after I saw Dr. P on Clawson Avenue. At the same appointment she performed a laser procedure which cleared up my entire vision in the right eye which was worse than the left which was the "good eye" now the "bad eye". The procedure was painless and within a few hours I could miraculously see perfect in that right eye. In layman's terms the lens implant needed to be "polished" as this can commonly occur over time. I am going to have the left eye done in two weeks. My point is that unless it's an emergency which was fortunately not the case here, me personally, I would get a second opinion. Was it a major pain in the ass to go into Manhattan? Absolute torture yes, but hey you only have one pair of eyes.

What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.

My surgeon, Dr. Julian Procope, was amazing--his calming disposition immediately put me at ease, and I felt completely confident in his care. Dr. Stoltz took extra time to walk me through my options, especially helping me decide between corrective vision and monovision. What stood out most was that he allowed me to experience what my vision would be like ahead of time, so I could make a truly informed decision without pressure. I met her the day of the procedure. She wasn't rude but she surely wasn't friendly. During the procedure, I felt some pressure and slight lifting in my right eye. I figured it must be apart of the process and didn't think anything of it. 3-4 months post op, my right eye was still blurry. I went back for a visit in which I was told it's just dry eyes and to apply drops. That didn't help. I went to my eye doctor who put me on steroid eye drops and nothing. Still blurry. I go back again to LasikPlus and they refer me to a dry eye specialist. The dry eye specialist, informed me my right eye is slight dry nothing exciting. He explained dry eye typically occurs in both eyes not just one. He recommended, I follow back up with LASIK plus because I would benefit from an enhancement. I contacted LasikPlus with this information and informed there is a process. If they feel like you qualify, you'll get the enhancement and if they don't well you're SOL. If I would've known the process with LasikPlus would be like this, I would have gone somewhere else.

6-7-21 Had cataract surgery - different doctor and location…read more After 3 weeks of treatment to fix a problem with the surgery, Dr. Reisman identified my problem quickly, notified and arranged for the surgeon that did the original surgery to immediately, correct the problem. I could have lost sight in that eye except for Dr Reisman seeing me right away without an appointment. Dr Reisman is an outstanding, competent, capable and trustworthy physician. Those who wait for a time past their appointment may experience that because Dr. Reisman is helping someone like myself. If I must wait past my appointment time I will remember whenI needed and received emergency help. Also, the office is clean, bright, well organized and all people there are friendly.
