7/11/25- When one has new lenses made and has them inserted in an older frame .. one feels great! Just my luck the arm breaks and there goes $$$ out the door.. However, I lucked out because my optometrist had a business card for repair- It's best to call and schedule an appt. Unfortunately, the frame could not be repaired-.. Luckily, he was able to insert in almost identical frame.. Be patient as this is a much needed service with lots of people needing repairs.. Thanks for saving my new lenses .. Michael at Eyeglass Repair was really friendly and helpful, and did an great job repairing my glasses. I came in on the Friday before Christmas to drop them off after an unfortunate event broke them at the base of one of the arms. When I came in, he looked them over, told me his plan to fix them, took down my information, and told me he was working through a backlog but would try to have them done by the Tuesday before Christmas. It was late Tuesday when he updated me that they were done, so I (understandably) wasn't able to pick them up until the Friday after Christmas. The repair is seamless and they fit perfectly. The price was also fair! If not for a bit of glue residue, you wouldn't even notice anything happened. He seems to really know his stuff, and I hope the repair holds for a while to come. My brother and I dropped off his sunglasses before going to Europe in August. The glasses needed a new nosepiece built. We prepaid and left.The plan was for me to pickup the glasses when they were finished and send them to my brother who lives in Alaska. After waiting 8 months, I went by the shop twice during business hours and no one was there. I called and left a message and when the owner returned my call, he told me that he hadn't done any work and the glasses would be done in 3 days. Unfortunately, I was sick and didn't make it in. The owner called 3 weeks later to say the glasses were done so I went right down there to pick them up. When I walked in, he was playing the guitar in a side room and was cussing. I told him why I was there. I gave him my brother's name and then realized that the glasses were actually under my name since my brother lives so far away. I asked the owner to confirm that the $50 was prepaid. He told me that I needed to pay the $50. I called my brother immediately and he confirmed that he paid in August. Then the owner told me he never has clients prepay. I told him that I wasn't a deceitful person. After going back and forth, he gave me the glasses and asked me to pay for them if I remembered that I owed him. Then he told me how hard the job was. As far as I'm concerned, he should have refunded the $50 after taking 8 months to complete a job that he said would take 3 days. In addition, I don't appreciate being accused of dishonesty when he clearly was very disorganized and uses sticky notes as records for confirmation of payment. To boot, the glasses were dirty and sticky. I'll never use this place again. After owning 2 businesses for over 20 years, I'd be destitute if I treated my customers like that. I dropped my glasses off last Thursday and was told they would be ready Monday or Tuesday. Well next Friday rolls around and had not heard back. It was Friday before Memorial Day and I really needed them back. So I tried calling several times during business hours, he finally answer the phone around 1030 and said he was up at Tahoe and they would be ready later. He called me about 1230 telling me they were ready so I drop everything at work to drive down. Well guess what, they were not ready, had to wait another 10 minutes. My 18 month old son decided to grab and subsequently rip off one of the ear pieces, breaking the hinge, right before we were going to go on vacation. I figured any larger glasses shop was going to have to send my glasses out for repair, which would end up taking two weeks, and probably cost me anywhere from $100 to $200. So after looking on Yelp, I found Eyeglass Repair, showed up first thing in the morning, and dropped my glasses off with Michael. He was super friendly, and even though the break on my glasses was pretty bad, he said he would try his hardest to get them fixed since I was going on vacation. Luckily he was indeed able to get them fixed before we left, they look great, and I was able to have them on my trip. Mike is definitely a craftsman, and can fix glasses when it seems like there is no way of salvaging them. His prices on lenses are also very competitive!!! Don't waste your money on lenses at the big retailers - go to Mike and I bet he'll save you a nice chunk of cash! This was our first time visiting Eyeglass Repair. After 2 mins of walking into this place we knew we were in the right place. There was a line of at least 5 in front of us. Mike talked to each customer with the same energy, enthusiasm, care, and respect to find out their problem. At first you're thinking, ok, let's move this along but after realizing what's happening you can't ignore the amazing customer service and attention to detail that he's absorbing and in return putting out. Mike was really nice, but doesn't communicate very well! After two weeks I finally decided to call and he said to call him back around 1pm. I did and he said he would call me back in 15 minutes. He called me back and said my glasses came out great! So he had my glasses for 2 weeks and could have repaired them in 15 minutes!!
