My husband recently had a stroke. I was told that I should get his vision retested. It had been a couple years since I had mine tested and I thought perhaps I should go in too. I called in the morning and they got us in the same day. Blake was the optician/receptionist and couldn't have been nicer. Dr. Mikala Porter did the eye testing for me. We talked about some questions I had and she assured me that what I had was normal. Suggested some solutions for allergies. My husband has some problems from the stroke. This wasn't any problem for Dr. Porter. She was very confident and encouraging while testing him. We thought that we might retest on him before we bought new glasses, just to make sure. Blake was very nice and explained the pricing structure with my insurance plan. I went a little more on the special lenses that I wanted, but I got exactly what I wanted. 2 pair of SHADES! The young lady that assisted me was quite rude. My husband and I have been clients for many years... but my last visit ruined that, unfortunately. Whoever was "in charge" could not be bothered to speak to me. The lady that "helped" me had absolutely no warmth or kindness AT ALL and even insinuated that I was lying about my insurance... found out I was NOT lying and didn't even attempt to be copacetic or decent. I received terrible service and unusable glasses. I had an appointment and arrived at the store. No one greeted me, and several employees were scrolling on their phones. I finally was told by someone to "go back there and the receptionist will help you." I asked about the location of "back there." There was no receptionist present. After calling out loudly for assistance, someone came. The virtual exam was dodgy, I had to watch repeated video clips to wait for an examiner, no one asked about my needs for glasses (e.g. reading), and when I got my glasses, my near vision was blurry. They remade them. When I came in for the remade eyeglasses, no employee greeted me despite employees being present. The remade pair was still worse than my current 2-year-old glasses. read more

I went here last year to get my eyes checked and the staff was incredibly friendly and warm. I missed my meeting (forgot they moved places and my insurance card), and the workers were still really nice and even reschedule for me! Everyone is very polite and I felt like I could ask them anything. The most notable was Christian who was the most helpful to me in picking out two of my most favorite glasses from them and some contacts as well. They're extremely personable and was very patient with me and answered all of my question in useful details. I felt extra welcomed because I came in and they even remembered me! I went for the two pairs of glasses for $78 deal and was very pleased that they got the lens prescriptions right. Unfortunately one of the frames was crooked on me, and the fellow tried multiple times to get it straight, and he was really manhandling the frames, trying to get it straight on me, and I was afraid he was going to break the frame, so after the third try I just decided to live with the frames being crooked as I didn't want to risk damaging the frames. About a week later, I went to put the glasses on and one of the stems had broken off. It wasn't just a loose screw. The metal was actually broken where the stem attached to the frame. I went back and they told me since I hadn't purchased the optional 'insurance' there was nothing they could do. The cost of a new frame? $80. I paid $78 for both pairs in the first place. I concluded: the frame quality (made in China) isn't that good; the opticians aren't that skillful; and the price of $78 for 2 pairs isn't that great a deal unless you get add-ons, like the optional 'insurance' that would have added $40. I'll go elsewhere next time. I don't mind paying more for a quality item and higher level of expertise, which saves me time in the long run. read more

Screwed up the order, tried to explain and after multiple attempts had to speak with a manager. Brought frames back for replacement lenses, returned dirty and done poorly. 2nd pair has residue that will not come off and lenses appear to be scratched. I broke my prescription reading glasses before a trip where I was going to need them quite a bit and I'd put off getting them replaced too long. I checked around to see who could fill my prescription needs the same day or even next day. My prescription for each eye is different enough that I get horrible headaches using simple store bought single vision readers for anything more than a quick labels read. EyeGlass world was polite and friendly and very accommodating. They also had a decent selection of frames for all at several different levels of cost. I was not worried about cost but was originally attracted by their advertised sale of to plastic framed glasses for $78. I picked out a few pair and ended up with two pair, however one of the frames were $156, the other were $78 - so I was to pay the cost of the higher price frames with the lesser valued frames being free. It was still a deal for me, so I was very happy. I did going in late in the afternoon, so about 30 minutes before the store closes, their lens technician leaves for the day, so I just came in the next day and picked up my completed reading glasses. Employees were friendly, courteous and accommodating. Decent selection and range of prices. I'd go there again. The only negative was that the store itself seemed a little old to me but didn't really affect my overall experience. read more

Had an eye exam since my vision seemed to be getting worse. With the first pair of glasses from here, my eyes started to burn within 20 minutes, and get a headache within an hour. Vision was not clear. Returned for a recheck, had Rx changed and got another NEW pair of glasses - have tried them for a couple weeks now and STILL have burning eyes, headache, and still can't see clearly. My OLD glasses, from elsewhere, work better than these. I suggest going elsewhere for glasses. Asa FYI - not all that long ago, when you go glasses, they sat you down and fitted them so they were properly situated and fit right - here, they basically hand you the glasses and wish you a 'nice day'. read more

(I would give zero stars if I could) The male eye doctor they have here is awful. I have gone here twice in the past 3 years, and 5 months ago I was here he gave me a 2 second exam and sent me off with a prescription that ended up being the WRONG one. My eyes still felt blurry so I found a new Eye doctor down the road he told me my eyes were COMPLETELY inflamed and to stop wearing contacts, This is something the doctor at Eyeglass world should have caught. I've been coming here for years. I've always had great service by a friendly staff. They explain the billing and insurance stuff in a way I can understand. I wouldn't say they have the most stylish selection of glasses but I get contacts so that doesn't bother me. I've bought two pairs of RayBan sunglasses here because the staff worked out a way for me to use my insurance and in-store offers to get me a great deal. He was very helpful and extremely nice. So I set up a appointment with the doctor he was also friendly. I had two pair of progressive lenses done by them. APPAULING CUSTOMER SERVICE. This place really sucks. I had no idea buying a pair of replacement contacts would be such a needless pain in the ass. I was down to my last pair of Eyeglass World house-brand contacts in my expensive, pre-paid three-month supply in two weeks. When one fell out in the shower (fresh pair, mind you) after the other rolled up into my skull I figured I would just go back to special-ordering my old brand, but would need a spare pair in the interim. I have bad vision, and the missing shower one was really giving me a headache. Turns out, though I have been buying contacts there for four years and my prescription has NEVER CHANGED, I was three days past my yearly $100 eye exam and they wouldn't sell me a set of spare lenses while the other ones I had JUST ordered from them came in! No option of scheduling an appointment, no "because you're a good customer", not even a "well here's what we can do." All I got was a rude "no sir" and a bigger headache than I had walking in there. You can bet that I won't be back. In fact, I'd rather take the chances with a pair of Coke bottles than bother with this place again. Do yourselves a favor and go anywhere else, and spair your brain (mine still contains one contact) and your wallet a huge hassle. I'll say it again, this place sucks. read more
