Sadly, we didn't have the best experience. Came here with my partner. He needed new glasses since his previous pair was old and falling apart. We were able to find a nice pair here (costly but that was ok), and got an updated eye test/prescription. Unfortunately, after a couple of days they were causing headaches and eye pain. He decided to continue to wear them since they were knee and maybe needed to get used to it. Still nothing. Called the store, and got seen. The primary doctor there made some adjustments, and took them back. Same thing, they resulted in pain/headaches. The dr felt careless and not very understanding, let alone interested in getting this right. Not returning given the lack of care and professionalism around this. We thought we'd find our new neighborhood eye glass shop too, but that was a fail. read more

Nice selection of eyewear by top designers. Prices are competitive but shop around if you can and make sure you know what you want. Also, whatever you are quoted, get it in writing with specifics as to frame and lens material, etc because my experience was to have the price bumped higher.. surprise!...on my return to actually complete the purchase. It was still lower than what I was quoted elsewhere but haggling and negotiating for the original price quoted is annoying to say the least. I needed to find a new optometrist and was a little leery as so many have middling reviews. So when I discovered Eyes On You Optometry that took my insurance and had great reviews I was hopeful. It was easy to make an appointment and to confirm my insurance info. I was able to do the new patient paperwork beforehand and the online system was clear and easy to use. The office was clean and upscale in appearance. Dr. Dagron was lovely. Efficient, kind and a great guide when deciding what to get. My old optometrist was always trying to upsell me on services but I felt like Dr. Dagron just wanted to get me what I needed (glasses and contacts) and best leverage my insurance rates. I highly recommend Eyes On You Optometry if you want a professional and empathetic optometrist and an exceptional experience from beginning to end! read more

Frame selection: 4 stars They have nice options and different brands. Service could be better. There is lack of communication. I was hoping to receive a call to know when to pick up my glasses and after 2 weeks I called and they were ready. Maybe I understood they would call me. Another problem I had is that it wasn't clear that I would have to pay again for the crystals if the prescription was off. Basically I paid almost 500usd on glasses I can't wear. My advise is that you buy only the frame or do an exe exam here so they can cover if your crystals need to be changed. Don't come here with an external prescription since they don't try it first. Extremely helpful, extremely nice. Helped me out with numerous prescriptions, even the ones I was doing on my own - online. My frame that had issues was replaced in less than a week. Amazing. Also, we would come in riding on electric bikes but were afraid and hesitant to leave them outside on the street. They would let us park inside, being very considerate. I had a good experience here making an appointment, having my eye exam, and ordering contacts. The staff is friendly and responsive, and Dr. Dagron is professional and efficient. Their frames can get quite expensive though - they were helpful at trying to keep me under a certain budget, but I found that all of the glasses under about $200 didn't look any good on me. I had to go to the $400+ frames before I found ones that I liked. Because this would have cost so much, I did end up going somewhere else to get my frames. read more

In a nutshell: Dr. Dagron is fine if all you need is a new glasses prescription, but if you have any real medical issues, you should go elsewhere. I went to Dr. Dagron a few weeks ago to check a bulging eye. Dr. Dagron immediately said I was crazy and that it was totally normal for eyes to be asymmetric. I insisted to him that something had changed, and begged him to check my eye. He spent one minute checking the pressure and insisted that I was just imagining things. I asked him if he could at least refer me to an ophthalmologist, he reluctantly agreed, and shooed me off (and of course I had to pay for the visit out of pocket for the visit because this was a medical visit not covered by VSP). Four days later, he still had not sent the referral out. I called his office each day and asked them if the referral had gone through and each time they told me they would rush it out, but it never happened. The last time I called, the receptionist said "look there's nothing wrong with you, please stop asking us for a referral. It's not going to happen." I ended up going to my PCP who made the referral to the ophthalmologist, and decided to check my thyroid for potential issues. And fast forward 2 weeks later - I was hospitalized for a thyroid storm. I could have died if I had listened to Dr. Dagron and believed that this was nothing. I think it's safe to say that I will not be going back to Dr. Dagron again. He does not take his patients seriously, and while he might be sufficient for writing you a script for your glasses or contacts, I would not rely on him to do much more than that. read more

They will take your money happily, but will not let you leave the practice. I tried for a week to get a referral to UCSF and finally just spoke to the owner. He told me that he "could not" refer me for something he could see me for. I asked him to send me the language of the law prohibiting him from doing so, and he said there was no law: "It's just the way things are". He then told me "We're done" and hung up the phone. How's THAT for customer service? To boot: The glasses I got there are not the right fit for me at all. But again, they were more than happy to sell them to me. Dr. Dagron saved me a ton of money on my annual contact lens purchase! I usually buy my contacts through Costco, but he was able to provide me with a $250 rebate from Acuvue that saved me a lot of money. $200 cheaper than Costco. I also really like that he ends every visit with the questions "what other questions can I answer about your eyes?" My distance vision also improved .5 this year thanks to his advice about looking into the distance on walks and focusing my eyes at far away objects. With all the screen time I have at work this made a difference for me! read more

Ditto to the previous reviewer who also complained about their prescription issues (sort by latest reviews)! Do not come here!!!!! They will do everything to profit from you as much as possible. They made a documented mistake on my prescription and won't correct it even though they admitted the error, making it impossible to fill my prescription unless I come in (during COVID shelter in place) and pay for another appointment. I just can't believe itand will file a complaint with the board of optometry. Thankfully, The first alternate provider who I showed a copy of the erroneous prescription immediately recognized that it was just a mistake by this site and helped me obtain proper vision care for the remainder of shelter in place. read more

The doctors here are great. I've been coming here for a few years and enjoy chatting with the staff. Sure the frames here are on the expensive side but you don't have to buy from them if it doesn't suit your budget. This doctor is arrogant and rude. He has an awful attitude. I do not recommend seeing him. In addition to his poor people skills...he also made underhanded comments about my previous medical condition with zero background info or any exam. His implication was I brought it upon myself. Totally unprofessional. The final thing that made me walk out of my appt is his policy with trial contacts. They only give you 2 days of trials and get this...they give u a different BRAND for each eye!!! What??!!! When I asked for the same brand for each eye he said "No". He doesn't have enough storage to allow patients to try the same brand of contact in each eye. He also said he won't give me more than 2 days of trials. Super cheap and chintzy. I still can't get over the "each eye gets a different brand of contacts" for you trial policy. The receptionist was just as rude and said they've always done it this way...and no exceptions. So I walked out...booked with another doctor in SF. After the exam...Without any promting...she provided me 10 days of trial contacts of...get this...the SAME BRAND!! This is the usual experience I've had. Not the "only 2 days and different brand of contact in each eye" policy that Vincent has. Do NOT go to see Vincent Dagron at Eyes on You. Worst optometrist experience I've ever had. Oh...and he also measured my glasses prescription way lower than it was. I told him it was higher and proceeded to tell me I was mistaken and went on some arrogant rant. I told him I was confident in my knowledge and asked him to measure again. He measured again and then admitted that I was right. Ugh...just awful. I shouldn't need to be correcting a doctor. Update: I also just noticed the doctor responded to my post saying I wasn't a patient. He's a liar. His receptionist knows he's a liar...as she for sure remembers me. For the last 32 years I lived a life among the two eyed folks... it was a good life, just walking around without any plastic on my face, not having to worry about pushing anything up the arch of my nose or idk shooting my eye out after breaking my glasses with my official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle. I noticed my sight was getting a bit blurry at work and I often found myself getting insane migraines so after dealing with that for... idk 10 months, I finally saw an optometrist and in walks Eyes On You or more so in I walked into Eyes On You... Long story long, I was in and out relatively quick and was shown a life with better vision... what a world. How did I manage to go this long without perfect vision is beyond me. I just have to get used to this glasses thing... Im gonna have to change my dating profiles and tell all my previous girlfriends that I have astigmatism (I can't believe i spelled that right), but I never would've known without Eyes On You. Also, this place is pretty swanky, everyone who works in here looks fly af, I was very impressed with how stylish they were and I walked in looking like I just fell out of a clothes bin at Ross. I digress, the Dr and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Do people actually take time out of their day to write reviews for optometry offices? Not usually. HOWEVER!! The staff at Eyes On You are incredibly exceptional, that I just had to. On top of being exceptional, they are also extremely patient and accommodating while not compromising on their professionalism. I came in on December 31--arguably the busiest for businesses like these (hello, tryna use up all my insurance benefits)--for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses, and they all still took their time to be super attentive and detail oriented. And they even remember their clients, which makes the entire experience feel incredibly personal and not so... clinical. The exam itself was nothing out of the ordinary. But when trying on lenses, the women working that day were so incredibly helpful and made the greatest effort in helping me decide what frames best fit my face/style. They spoke to me like we had known each other for decades ("Uh-uh. Those frames don't quite fit your face." "Ooo! Those frames complement you SO well!!" "These would look really good on you, and are within your budget!") and were incredibly patient throughout the entire process. I'm talking office-closed-20-minutes-ago-and-they're-still-being-super-helpful patient. And I didn't feel pressured to rush any of my decisions. I came back a couple of months later to finally pick up my lenses, and they all made sure that I left feeling absolutely confident both in my sight and in my style. I went in for a routine eye exam for a new prescription. This was a great experience. The web UI is great, the staff was courteous and prompt, and Dr. Dagron is a consummate professional. He clearly explained all the steps he was taking and described the medical ramifications around what was going down in my eyes in a way I could comprehend as a layperson. He was referred to me by a friend, and I would in turn refer his office to everyone :-) Edit: I actually went back and read some of the negative reviews out of curiosity, and they do not reflect my experience at all. I got an eye exam and am currently trialing different brands of contacts - they asked me if I wanted to buy glasses and I said I didn't, that I wanted to go frames shopping with a friend, and they were completely cool with that answer. They definitely didn't "max out" my insurance, they showed me the pricing up front and I agreed to it, which is a welcome change from most of the other doctor visits I have. read more

I've always had good experiences at Optometrists but my experience here has been the best of them all! Dr. Dagron is very professional and knowledgable and he gave me more information about my eyes than other doctors I've seen in the past. Making a reservation here was very easy and the ladies here were extremely helpful with helping me find a pair of glasses that fit my face shape and sits well on my nose bridge. Most other optometrist offices will just let you randomly pick out a pair of glasses and sell it to you even if they don't actually fit. I highly recommend Eyes On You Optometry! read more

I was seeing fine with my old contacts but needed to renew my prescription. I brought in my existing contacts (in the package with the prescription info) to the appointment and was told they were terrible. The new prescription I received was too strong which was fine - I don't mind if it takes an extra tine to get it right. But, It's been adjusted but I still don't see as well with my new contacts and my eyes are really bloodshot. They were much more expensive than my old contacts and required a complex rebate process (which I'll only get this first time). I didn't get the appropriate paperwork I needed for the rebate process that was recommended by the office. Overall they are very nice but the hassle was too much and results not worth it. read more

The worst experience I have ever made with an optometrist.... I'm were disappointed about the lense fitting procedure for new contact lenses. It took over 2 weeks for the ordered lenses to arrive. The reception personnel was inexperienced and not responsive. The correction assessment was unprofessional and did work out for satisfied vision even after the third visit. Very stylish place, well designed. Dr. Dagron had his own line of frames he's designed, which I found completely impressive. That said, I had a less than ideal experience though, and I left with a less than warm feeling. I felt like I was being upsold, and that I had to debate how much I thought the appointment was going to cost which never makes the customer feel like they were treated fairly. That really is the reason for the 2 stars. It really is a beautiful store, but I'm more comfortable with a standard-looking office if I don't have to dispute the cost. Really bad service. I had to get some contacts and glasses and do not have a complicated prescription. i just wanted an eye exam that I could trust. I saw Dr. Dragon. He gave me a prescription for contacts; they hurt my eyes so I went back to get refitted. I didn't like their frames and they made it really clear they resented that I took the prescription elsewhere. Today I tried to reorder my contacts from 1-800-contacts and they refused to verify more than 1 box even though my prescription is good for 2 more months. AND THEN -get this- they called 1-800-contacts with the wrong prescription. I guess there records didn't include the refit. Or they want me to buy from them at a higher price. I love Eyes On You. I've been going there for 5 years, starting at the age of 23 with a respectful attitude and did my research on what types of frames are sold at the location (hint: designer, super cute but as we all know skews to be a little more than what people expect). I'm appalled by the negative reviews because I've had nothing short of excellent, professional service - you get what you put into the situation. #humanCondition Dr. Dagron is a sweetheart, very transparent, and thorough. He has an aristocratic air about him, so maybe that's what people are finding off-putting and condescending - I find it endearing and classy (it's all perspective, he's honestly been nothing but extremely kind when I or my colleagues have visited...we all rave about this at work). From a marketing perspective, this is the type of attitude I want to feel when I'm wearing glasses and expect that to be the environment from which I am making a purchase. I've had my prescription and eye health change over the past few years, which is finally stabilizing as my eyes mature (also happened at Kaiser...so it's not a scam, it's how our bodies work and adjusts to new environments...such as entering into a career of staring at a computer all day). I prefer seeing Dr. Dagron vs the optometrists I've seen at Kaiser as he is more friendly, fashionable, and takes the time to be thorough whether unprompted or prompted through my own curious comments and questions. I have asked the receptionists in the past for a copy of my prescription so I can purchase glasses from the internet. I continue to buy at least one pair of solid frames and lenses from Eyes on You every few years to update my main frames as fashion changes, but also like to buy fun, colorful glasses ad hoc that are more cost effective and I don't mind throwing in my gym bag if I'm traveling. #life I've never had a problem getting my PD and have never had an attitude from the staff. It's also fairly simple to measure your PD, so if you want it that badly and don't want to pay for it, #DIY #lifeHack I've never felt "followed" and have always enjoyed the help on trying on glasses. Especially since the staff is gracious enough to adjust the frame to my face to ensure the fit is comfortable. They tell me when something doesn't work and start honing in on what I'm looking for after getting a feel for what I'm moving towards. I've never felt like the staff was trying to take my money. They've tried to sell me on lenses, sure, but respected me when I've declined any additional features or new frames. Dr. Dagron convinced me to change contact brands, but not until I tried on a FREE pair of the new brand, which ended up being WAY more comfortable and longer lasting than my previous brand and has a great rebate offer #winning. We're all adults here, the sales of glasses is part of the practice, especially at a designer optometry clinic, and an adult, I know how to respectfully decline additional services or sales. Going here and expecting to not at least indulge in what is being offered is like going to a high end restaurant and splitting the cheapest item on the menu with your friend while demanding great service for the table you sequestered for an hour of your waiters wasted time. read more

Just had my first appt at Eyes on You Optometry this morning and was thoroughly impressed. They are a few block from my new job, and I thought based on other reviews I would try them out. Easy to walk to from work, that is a plus for me (they do have dedicated parking too should you need). Great cool little store, with a pretty good selection of frames and sunglasses. As it was my first appointment, I had to fill out the paperwork. The receptionist explained everything about my VSP coverage so it was very clear. Dr Dagron (Vincent) was very friendly, courteous, talked to me about all the options and possibilities for my prescription. He was also very funny to chat with. He also showed me around all the frame options, giving suggestions and recommendations. Often in other stores I have been handed off to someone else, so it meant a lot to me that he took the time and interest. Extra points for that. I really enjoyed the visit, felt that they gave a great service. I ended up getting a new pair of glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses.
