I rarely post reviews but one is warranted here. I was an Eyes patient for around 6-7 years and bought 6-7 Kawasaki eyeglass frames from them. They used to fill my progressive prescription. The glasses never felt right - the near sight and long sight parts of the glass was not where I expected them to be. My insurance changed and I ended up having to go another optometrist. Those glasses were fantastic. I could see without having to look through any particular part of the frames. Never went back to Eyes again until yesterday to have the nose pad replaced on a Kawasaki frame I bought from them because my optometrist does not carry Kawasaki parts. They wanted $50.00 to replace the nosepad that every optometrist does for free. read more

I have been going to Dr. Ni for about a year. A family friend referred me to Eyes Optometry and I couldn't be more satisfied with the level of care I've received here for my vision needs. The store is tidy, the equipment is clean and up to date, and the front staff is very friendly. Dr. Ni is detail oriented and meticulous. She addresses all of my questions and talks me through the various tests she runs; I walk out feeling confident that I am in good hands. I went to my last optometrist and never felt like my vision was clear--and chocked it up to having astigmatism. Turns out the brand of contacts I'd been using wasn't sitting on my eyes correctly. She spent quite a bit of time checking and re-checking my vision, trying other brands, until we found the one that fits the best. I cannot believe how clearly I'm able to see now. Had an appointment for a eyeglass prescription. Did not need an eye exam and most places will try to get you to have the eye exam anyway. No problem here, very professional and got a very good glasses Rx. Would go here again. read more

My wife and myself both went for an eye exam this morning. Dr Ni was very thorough and pleasant and explained everything in depth. The whole office staff were very nice and we will return there for our next exam. I would recommend this location as it is very chill with no pressure. read more

If I had only the impression the front desk staff left on me to go by, I would never return to this place again. Cold, unfriendly and rude, is how I would describe them --- especially the heavy set woman. They acted annoyed that we made our appointment. They weren't particularly nice to my children --- one of whom was there to have her eyes examined!!! The optometrist we saw though was pleasant, knowledgeable and very patient. She was great with my daughter and took the time to give me a thorough overview of my child's results and answer any questions. I just don't get why the gals at the reception desk were so dour! The office is in Los Altos but service is very poor. Doctor's skills are extremely basic and treats patients like in an 'assembly line'. Disappointed that I wasted my insurance going here. Wouldn't recommend going here. Even the prescription doesn't have the doctor's office name & address on it and the front office is really dumb to even get it. read more

I was recently looking for a new optometrist, and looked up top rated optometrists on Yelp, and cross referenced them with who took my insurance. I ended up with Eyes Optometry and what a great choice it was! * I was able to easily schedule an appointment, within the same week, and within the time parameters that I was looking for. * The staff is really friendly and helpful! * Dr. Ni is a great optometrists! She listens to all of your concerns and needs, and addresses ALL of them. Additionally, all of the equipment that they have is of the latest technology! They also have quite a selection of frames to choose from. I decided to pick up sunglasses on this visit. I was debating between a few pairs that happened to be more on the expensive end. The two girls working in the office then also offered to let me browse through one of their catalogs of less expensive models, and even were willing to order a couple pairs in for me to try on, without committing to them! My whole family sees Dr. Ni at Eyes Optometry. Dr. Ni is very nice and knowledgeable. Last year when my son went in for his kindergarten eye exam I expressed to her that I was concerned he was color blind. So she did the Ishihara Test for Color Blindness, then even recommend we go to UC Berkeley Eye Center for more accurate testing and a more conclusive diagnoses. She also sent me a long, descriptive email about color blindness and the UC Berkeley Eye Center. When we went for our exam this year she remembered us and was helpful and accommodating since I had both my kids with me for my son and my eye exams. Love Dr. Ni! read more

My right eye began developing a slight stigmatism so I asked around for an optometrist referral. My co-worker was ranting and raving about Dr. Ni so I decided to Yelp it. I was initially skeptical based on the reviews. However given my co-workers high recommendations I decided to go ahead and schedule an eye examination. During my eye exam Dr. Ni (Wendy) was very friendly and professional. She spent a lot of time explaining each test result in great detail and knowledgably addressed all my questions. What impressed me the most was the follow-up after I picked up my new pair of glasses. I never wore glasses before and had a hard time adjusting to them. The office contacted me and asked me if everything was ok. I told them I was getting slightly dizzy when wearing the glasses. Dr. Ni contacted me and offered me an option to tone down the prescription at not cost if the dizzy spells were still lingering. This shows that she genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her patients. In summary my experience at Eyes Optometry has been nothing but positive. I will visit Dr. Ni again for my next annual examination and will gladly refer her to anyone who is seeking out an optometrist. read more

The experience is suboptimal, threes a try difference between the optometrist ,Wendy Ni and the front staff. Dr. Ni- is thorough ,competent and performs a through exam. Front staff- they try, that's about the best i can say. Commence, not so much. Organization- miss. Glasses came back rattling, staff tried to deny it, only when I spoke to the optomerist, they agreed to have replaced. I asked to them to call back once they had information, they just never did until I stopped by a week later. They were just not on the ball and seem flaky. Dr. Bozich is great! She has a wonderful personality and really takes the time to talk with you about your eyes and eye health, and answers all of your questions. They even have this kick-ass machine that takes a picture of the back wall of your eye-ball. Kinda creepy, but cool. On a bad note, I'm not 100% satisfied with her front desk staff. I've managed a lot of front desks before, so I am very picky with service & being thorough with customers, especially when it's their first time with you. It kinda felt like I was pulling teeth with them to get information, and no one told me that I had schedule a follow up appointment for my contacts - they just assumed I knew, and didn't take any initiative to remind me! I would actually give this only a 3 stars if the doc wasn't so kick-ass. Overall, definitely a great place to go - just make sure to follow up with the front desk staff thoroughly! read more

First, I have to say that I did NOT get an eye examination here so I am not commenting on the quality of the doctors here. I would like to comment on the service I received when ordering a pair of prescription sun glasses. It was HORRIBLE!! I found a pair I liked, my prescription is pretty easy. Of course I wanted all the extras, progressive lenses, polarized, etc. They told me it would take a week to 10-days. THREE WEEKS later, it still was not ready! They said it had to be shipped from New York! I would think there are labs a lot closer than the east coast! I have to say, they were at least fair and nice about reimbursing me 100%, after I cancelled the order, but, I've been wearing glasses for over 40 years and this is the first time a pair of glasses, sun glasses or clear, took so long! In my opinion, this Optometry shop, sends their orders to the cheapest lab to maximize profits. read more

Dr. Wendy Ni is the new owner as of January 2009. Dr. Ni was great. She talked me through the results of my eye exam and told me how to treat my dry eyes. It seemed as though there were a LOT of fees. The last time I had an eye exam (at a different eye doctor), I was not charged separately for a contact lens exam. I don't know if this is standard procedure, but it was a $150 addition to the co-pay for my regular exam. Yikes! The staff leaves a little to be desired in terms of service. They are not particularly welcoming or helpful. Certainly they are not rude or unhelpful, but if you need to know something you have to ask. Also, if you order something (glasses or contacts) you should call them when you think they should be there. The staff sometimes forgets to make notification calls. So be sure to be take the lead in following up on your order! read more

Im only giving the 5 stars to the doctor - Wendy Ni. As it has been made mention in another post the front desk staff can come off a little cold. But I can look beyond that as I got what I needed with the doctor and will come back for her only. They had a nice selection of frames and I received my glasses in a decent amount of time. Its a bit pricey, but what do you expect for a boutique in downtown Los Altos. Edit as of June 2013: The new front staff are AMAZING!!!! WAY better than the old staff. These girls are polite, helpful and willing to take the time to find the right frames for me. The office feels much warmer/happier with them around! Edit as of October 28th: Natalie is gone!! The new people are just that, new! Customer service is lacking and while I am a patient person, I can't keep repeating myself. I'm looking for a new place. read more

This place is great. Dr. Ni is really knowledgeable, and her staff were both incredibly friendly. There was a wait, but they communicated updates to me, and were apologetic. These things happen, and it wasn't that bad of a wait. Apparently, I'm near-sighted, which I already knew since I couldn't see football scores or read road signs (you know, the important things in life). They have a great selection of frames, and are really helpful in picking out your perfect pair. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. read more

My 1st call to the place and I happened to get a hold of the optometrist Dr. Ni. Told her that I have been getting migraines and would like to get my eyes checked ASAP. She was very accommodating and managed to get me an appointment for the same day; obviously I was flexible on the time. Since that 1st time, I have been going here for the last 3 years. And Dr. Ni has been great! Fortunately, I met Dr. Ni first; so, I had great first impression! And so the front desk people don't get to me. They now have NEW receptionists here and they seem much nicer than the previous ones. Much more friendlier. read more

Natalie is at the front, she is very nice with greeting and scheduling appointments as well as fixing glasses even if not purchased there. Dr ni is very thorough and takes good care to test your eyes with the latest technologies, lasers, etc. They have a good collection of glasses(last year got the basics this year got some high end Rudy sunglasses) and contacts(she gave me a bunch of samples). Been satisfied and coming back for more. read more

I've been wearing glasses/contacts since I was 4-years-old, and NO eye doctor has ever given my prescription the time and careful attention that Dr. Ni did. I'm sad it took me until I was 30 to find her (and the best prescription for my horrible eyes!). VERY thankful to have found this place. read more

Can't recommend this business. Very poor customer service. Booked an appointment for an eye exam, showed up for the appointment 5 minutes early and it was clear they didn't have my appointment in their system, a walk in comes in and requests an eye exam and is shown into the exam room immediately and I am informed that they won't be able to see me for some time. Non existent customer service. Disappointing. read more

Dr. Ni did a great job of explaining what she was testing and the results. She went over the details of my exam, reviewed the photos of my eyes, answered all my questions, and gave recommendations on how to keep my eyes healthy. I was able to get an appointment on short notice and was seen promptly after I arrived. Both Dr. Ni and the staff were friendly and helpful. I just would like to start off by saying I heard a good thing from a friend and when I called and had some questions I was taken back at the attitude the young girl had on the phone I called in on Friday around 330pm, I had some questions on the process of the appointment, the Slit lamp biomicroscopy exam Ect....and she was just plain short and rude, I believe her name was Sabrina or Serena..something like that..not impressed taking my business else where and ill be sure my friends and my network wont be coming here...shame on the staff!! read more

I am absolutely furious with this business. I made an appointment for my son to see our eye doctor which has a similar name. He mistakenly went here and instead of directing him to the right location they decided to "fit him in". They knew he was at the wrong place and took advantage of having him there. Dr. Ni is incredibly patient and knowledgeable! She took the time to answer all of my questions regarding the exam and really allowed me to understand that vision isn't merely as simple as prescribing glasses. A courtesy that was never extended to me by previous O.D.'s where I felt as if I were merely "another customer" being ushered through the door. Never once did I feel that she was in any hurry to rush me, or the exam. Her expertise and kindness made her wonderful to deal with. The physical location itself is pleasant and was very welcoming. one of the worst experiences ever. I feel $170 poorer after a routine exam and contact fitting even with eye med insurance. I showed up on Monday on time for my appointment only to be rudely informed by the office staff that there would be about a thirty minute wait, so I walked to nearby shops for a bit... when I returned they still weren't ready. I asked why they didn't have called me to inform that they were running so late. I didn't have time for the exam. I went back Wednesday... Dr. Ni is thorough but I still feel her prices are much to high considering the poor customer service I received. seems like a money making business, she even convinced me to take photos for $35 copay... never again read more

Unfortunately, Dr.Bozich has retired. Dr.Ni is ok, but charged me extra for taking photographs of the eye. It has never happened during the past visits. I might be looking around for a cheaper place next time. read more

Avoid. It took MONTHS to get my prescription glasses and sunglasses. The inattentive office staff never called me when the glasses were ready which added another week delay! Very unprofessional. The prescription was incorrect and had to be redone TWICE! The fit was awful and was never properly corrected. Nothing to see here. Move along. Wish I went elsewhere. read more
