My family and I had the pleasure of taking a day trip to New York City (Manhattan) today to see the wonderment of Manhattan at Christmastime. I highly recommend the Eyre Bus & Tour company of Glenelg MD. I would never put my life in the hands of this company after what happened yesterday. June 10, 2015, around 615-630 PM. Driving northbound on US-29 in Maryland, an Eyre driver almost killed my girlfriend and I. The Eyre driver pulled onto the shoulder of of a merge lane to get around our vehicle even though there wasn't room for the bus to get into the lane. The driver maintained speed and attempted to force his way into the way. In doing this, the Eyre driver sandwiched our vehicle between the bus and moving highway traffic. I honked the horn repeatedly to get the Eyre driver's attention, but he kept driving forward with no regard for our safety. I was finally able to pull away and get a safe distance from the reckless driver. read more

Tour company has contract with state govt to perform commuter duties. They are contracted to perform approximately 27 runs in a day. In six months of taking their bus, I have personally witnessed forty times where Eyre has had a bus break down (including "overheating" on a rainy morning at 5:15am in the middle of winter), seats that don't recline, vents that have been broken for so long that passengers have shoved stuff in them to prevent the air flow, busses without shocks, busses that are overcrowded on a regular basis and using short busses with a capacity of 22 seats to run routes where there were 40 people at a stop waiting to get on. When confronted with these issues, the head of this "division" says that "it's out of his hands", and "not our problem". Their operations chief did try to offer a free ride... twice, but my invoice for my prepaid transit link card has still gone unanswered. Instead, she's brought out when the former doesn't care (always), and tries to tow some party line that they "really care" and "are not a bad company". With that, 99% of the drivers I've had are excellent, and are a shining blessing in a black hole of a mismanaged business. Avoid like the plague. read more

While staying in Annapolis for a society conference, we required transportation to Washington DC's National Harbor for a dinner cruise event. Eyre was the most professional and communicative company we spoke to. Ellen made the entire quoting and planning effort smooth and easy. I have been commuting to work for about six months. Recently I have been catching this Eyre service. I believe they have a contract to service some the commuter routes around Maryland. Today I was on a bus they was very luxurious. It had lots of room for the seats, wood floor laminate and outlets to charge your devices. I was riding home in style. I also had the best customer service experience. I left my wallet in the seat and a person from the custodial staff turned it in. When I called lost and found the dispatcher had my wallet and boxed it up and shipped back to me that day. It was so refreshing to have such a great experience where I did not even knew it would happen. I asked her how I could thank them. She said anyway but if you want to send s thank note with something to buy a few pizzas for the staff that would be nice. My Association used Eyre to transport a group of cyclists from Fairfax VA to Pittsburgh to participate in a 6 day charity ride. Our experience was amazing - the bus itself was beautiful and in perfect condition. We were able to relax comfortably and spend the travel time preparing for our event. Roger, our driver, was a great guy and a true professional. He was able to easily adjust as we made some last minute changes to our route and took great care of us. In every aspect, we could not have had a better experience! I hope to be able to use Eyre (and Roger!) again for our ride in 2014. read more

Recently went to US OPEN with Eyre, very bad experience. Do not use this company. First of all the driver was late picking up passengers and did not give a reason for being late. Bus broke down not even an hour into drive. Had to wait almost two hours for another bus therefore getting to US Open late. Tour guide Cynthia McNeil was awful. She had no customer service skills, no personality and did not talk or explain anything during the crisis. She was also a poor excuse for a tour guide. Very bad unprofessional experience. read more

I contacted multiple charter/party bus companies with a pretty last minute price quote request. Eyre's website has an online request form, and I received an email reply within an hour. LaNita Crews was very helpful in telling me all the information, and helping me set up the reservation all via email. Eyre was also almost $200 cheaper than the other companies we received quotes from. The price we were quoted was the complete total- no additional tax or mileage charges appeared once we booked. The only additional thing was voluntary- a tip for the driver. We were using their mini-charter to transport 19 girls to and from a winery for a bachelorette party. Our driver, Tony, was 15 minutes early to our departure location and could not have been better. He was friendly, told us we could have a good time, leave things on the bus if we needed to, and he stayed parked in the parking lot for the afternoon so we had access to hop on and off if we needed to. He also was glad to accommodate the request to "Put on some jams!" for the ride home. I would highly recommend Eyre. They accommodated us on short notice for a more than fair price, were polite, timely, and the bus itself was clean and comfortable. If you're having a big group that needs to travel- get everyone to chip in a little and get the bus. It is so much easier and convenient than trying to carpool and drive yourselves. read more

My son was recently on a field trip with his school and presumably left his jacket on the bus. I had contacted Eyre and spoke to Dave, who was very helpful and while the jacket could not be located, he still took the time to call me to follow up. A few days ago, I was walking up to my son's school for the Halloween parade. I saw an Eyre bus pulling out of the parking lot and I thought jokingly to myself that Eyre was probably here to return his jacket, yeah right! Imagine my pleasant surprise when my son's teacher handed me his jacket. Based on this experience alone, I would recommend Eyre since they were so professional and helpful! read more

This is not the Greyhound. This is a motor coach, complete with almost-comfortable-but-not-really-sleepable padded seats, and a bathroom (important because the bus doesn't stop along the way). Leave on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday morning, arrive in New York at 51st and Broadway 4 hours later, leave Sunday night and arrive in EC 4 hours later. Easy, and all for $89. (There's also a Glen Burnie option.) When you compare that to driving a car and paying for gas and navigating New York and New Jersey and finding parking, it's a very good deal. Passengers vary; there's always a loud one, but earplugs make it all OK. read more

If I could give a 0 I would . This is THE WORST BUSSING COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED. The entire company has no clue what is going on , they are VERY un professional and can not and do not do their job properly. We had our driver for our wedding day call the police on us and deny us and 40 of our guest a ride back to our hotel at the end of the night . (Which we paid in full for) . Also they did not have enough room for all of our guest to leave the venue because they did not add the additional bridal party that came earlier. . The company called my husband the groom that night telling us it was our fault and to find a ride home. We had many police officers on the bus attending the wedding and even they could not settle this driver down. The driver also would not allow the mother of the groom to get on the bus because she did not have a bus ticket ? Which no one else on the entire bus had, also he drove her there with no problems on the way there earlier in the day . This company is beyond terrible and they should be shut down . read more

This company refused to allow an 84-year-old woman to re-book a tour to a future date so that she wouldn't be stuck on a tour (that was partly outside) in the middle of a winter storm with snow and sleet. And, the customer service rep was very sarcastic and rude. Will never purchase a tour from this business again. read more

From the moment I first contacted Eyre Bus the experience was unparalleled. The customer service rep was unbelievably responsive to all of our requests, including last minute changes due to weather. Our bus driver Joe who shuttled our entire wedding party all over greater Baltimore for the ceremony, photos. reception and rides back to the hotel. I had one of the worst experiences in my life with Eyre Bus. I was insulted by a driver driving commuter bus from Baltimore to Columbia. I got on the bus that was staying at the stop with open doors at the time of departure. The driver started yelling at me that I am not supposed to get on the bus until he allows me. I asked why he did not say right away that the bus was not ready for boarding and in response I heard that he did not have to say to me nothing at all. I was shocked and asked him to stop yelling at me and be polite. In response he started screaming more that it was his bus and he could do whatever he wanted, that he could throw me off the bus and when I asked him to stop being rude, he got close to me ans started yelling into my face. Once I said that I would report him to the company management, he threatened me with police. The driver was totally out of control amd even attempted to punch my monthly pass. I was shocked and terrified by his conduct as well as by the fact that he had no concern that he could be reported to his supervisor. Two days later after this insult I am still feeling humiliated and traumatized knowing that Eyre Bus is employing people that apparentl get satisfection from showing that little power they got. It makes me wonder if Eyre Bus management favor such conduct and hires drivers lacking any kind of civility. The same driver routinely shuts the doors in front of passangers and walks very slowly to a store across the street, then gets back, gets on the bus and eats while people outside are wating even in cold and rainy weather and even if it is past departure time. I no longer feel comfortable taking this bus. read more

When we asked Eyre Bus to get our group of cyclist from Fairfax, VA to Pittsburgh, PA with less than a week's notice they had not problem stepping up. When we saw the "Party Bus" on Sunday morning everyone was impressed and excited. We had a smooth and quick trip to Pittsburgh. Everyone was very comfortable and able to move around. We were able to each lunch on the bus, which saved us some time. We even hooked up a PlayStation to one of the TV's. The driver was very friendly and professional.
