I went there three times because of good reviews and each times for dentist visiting waiting time was 40~60mins even with an appointments ahead. The staff is attentive but the time management is terrible. They also required payment in advance, which is really unusual compared with elsewhere, I guess it was because they don't have trust with patients? with basic dental cleaning, with basic equipments (compared with other dental office in Queens) and time of waiting does not worthwhile. read more

Great dentist! Dr. Zhou took the time to explain everything to me and was very patient and informative. The staff was also very friendly. The wait can sometimes be very long, as the doctor takes his time with each patient, but it is definitely worth the wait. You know you're going to a doctor who isn't trying to sell you services or rush through the procedure so he can see the next patient. The office most definitely overbooks and always has patients wait for over 30 minutes almost all the time; sometimes the wait can be as long as 1 hour. It's a sign that they need to better manage their bookings and. Or trying to take as many patients / make as much money as possible. The dentist is fine on normal operations ie cleaning, wisdom teeth etc but please go see a more experienced dentist for anything more sophisticated. Been a patient for about 6 years. I have to say the wait time used to be bad but it feels like they have improved in recent years. You still won't be able to see the doctor at the time of your appointment, but there is a reason. He doesn't rush to the next patient after he is done if I have questions or concerns. He sits down and makes sure I feel comfortable with his explanations and answers. I have overheard him being frustrated with patients but usually it's because the patient doesn't listen to the instructions, refute the dentist's opinion or ask the same questions over and over again. If you don't do any of those, he is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. read more

First of all, like many others said in the reviews, the waiting time is much much longer than what is tolerable. I went to this office a couple of times for root canal treatment and every time I have to wait for at least 1.5 hours. They appointment management is terrible. Secondly, both the doctor and the staff need to work on their anger management. I came across several occasions where the Doctor Zhou yelled at his assistant, and the receptionists always look very impatient. People shouldn't pay for being treated with rudeness. Last but not least, if you don't have insurance and really care about paying a little bit less out of pocket than average market price, this might the be place to go (bear the risk of not having your issue solved and the doctor threw a cold "I don't know" at you when you asked him why). Patient for life! Dr. Zhuo and Sing Yi far exceeded my expectations. And very important: the clinic gleams with cleanliness! Have been to EZ Dental Care twice now, and had a great experience. Dr. Zhuo was very knowledgeable, professional, patient, and funny! I peppered him with numerous questions, and he answered all of them. Made my sister take her kids there as they had been having trouble with their previous dentist, and he was great with them too. Had a teeth cleaning, took a mold of my teeth for retainers, and purchased the electric toothbrush and bleaching tray he recommended. The molding material tasted grapey and differently from others I've had; turns out that the dentist especially ordered them for the comfort of his patients. Shout out to the receptionist, Sing Yi! She was a dear :). Made an effort to get to know every patient, and was very on top of things. Every year, I get a dental cleaning (dentists recommend every 6 months, but I can't afford that). I've been coming here on and off for the past 3 years. I also like Main Dental Group with Dr. Sim. I had originally planned to book an appointment with her. Much to my delight, however, the price was raised from $100 to $140. Plan B was EZ Dental Care. EZ Dental Care only charges $80 for a cleaning and x-ray (I have Health First insurance, but it's not accepted at most dental offices). $80 is a relatively cheap price- one dentist in Astoria charges $200. Unfortunately, Dr. Zhou is a victim of his own success. Since so many people want to get their teeth cleaned here, you have to book appointments at least 3 weeks in advance. I wanted an appointment for Friday evening, but the receptionist said the latest time they had was 4:30. I reluctantly agreed to that time. I got here at 4:35 (I would've arrived sooner had it not been for the painfully slow Q20 bus). After paying the money (they make you pay in advance. I don't understand why they're so paranoid), I waited in the waiting room for 10 minutes. Then, Dr. Zhou's cute Asian assistant led me to the room. She stuck that contraption that you bite down on (don't know the name of it) in my mouth and took x-rays. Then, she told me to wait. I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.... After an hour, I became impatient. I was tempted to walk out, but I wasn't about to waste $80. I briefly thought about asking them what was the holdup, but I didn't want to make a scene. I heard Dr. Zhou in another room with a client. There was no other dentist in the office and he can't clone himself, so I was forced to wait longer. I literally fell asleep in the chair. A few minutes later, he woke me up and proceeded with the cleaning. The actual cleaning was damn good (he's Asian- of course he's going to be good at what he does). It lasted only 20 minutes, but it felt like a thorough cleaning. There was only a minimal amount of pain. He knows how to talk to people who are scared of the dentist (when I was a kid and I didn't have a choice of where I wanted to go to get my teeth cleaned, I've had several cantankerous dentists who shoved shit in my mouth). After he was done, he gave me the usual lecture (you have to brush the back teeth, not just the front, etc.). If I was just rating the quality of the cleaning then it would easily be a 5. But I don't appreciate waiting an hour and 45 minutes. If he wasn't ready to see me at 4:30, why schedule the appointment for 4:30? Will I go back? It depends on how desperate I am. read more

I finally found a dentist that cares about me, this one's a keeper! For a long time, I was going to Boss Dental (also in Flushing), which seemed to change dentists every time I went...I realized I needed to find a dentist that sticks around and will remember my teeth history, as well as remember me! EZ Dental is great in so many ways. The staff is super friendly and the dentist genuinely tries to get to know his patients. They also use the latest technology, the TV monitor shows me all my teeth, which is nice to see. I set my appointment at 2:30 with my husband. I came 1:45pm and am still waiting , it's 3:40pm. My husband gets called in and I was excited I would be next. Another lady walks in with a 3pm appointment and insist she goes next since she has to leave and she got called before I did. I have to pick a friend at the airport at 5pm, we all have important things to do with our time so that shouldn't be the correct way to do it. I have an appointment before her, why am I the last patient still waiting ??? If she was bleeding or in pain I would understand but that is not the case. Doctor was really nice and very professional. When she accidentally knocked out the temporary crown, Dr. Zhou immediately scheduled time to meet with her and have it replaced; when the actual crown came in he did two procedures in one visit for her convenience. First of all the dental service is quite good. Definitely no complaint there. However, every time i visited him i had to wait at least one hour. Apparently appointment doesn't really mean anything to them. They schedule each visitor in a 15-minute interval and you can imagine how backed up he will be later in the day. I could understand the occasional wait, but it happened every time and to everyone I know who visited him. Sorry, my time is not less valuable than his time, so I guess I will find myself another dentist who is respectful to his patients and understands appointment means appointment. read more

My all time favorite dentist office! I'm actually a very complicated patient when it comes to dental care. I hate visiting the dentist and am absolutely horrified of it. However, EZ dental makes me a lot more at ease compared to any other dental offices. They are very gentle and patient! On top of that they play great music to distract you from the seemingly dreadful process. They also try their best to make a painless experience for you. They're the only dentist I'm willing to go to. However, keep in mind that because they're so awesome they have many many patients. Especially on weekends. If you're planning on visiting, make sure you make an appointment before hand and arrive on time or else the wait will take quite some time! read more

Wonderful, professional dentist experience. Knowledgeable, experienced dentist who made a point of getting to know me and explain to me what he saw as my problem areas through the use of the little in-mouth camera he used (just for my benefit) and a monitor mounted on the wall above me. He wasn't trying to push services if I didn't want them yet: he was realistic about the need for certain things at certain times. This, among other things, amounted to my full trust in this service for my future various dental needs. Incredibly warm and friendly staff; relaxed and positive experience. Will definitely be coming back for more. Affordable for those who lack insurance, which was important to me-- I wanted something that I could afford, but also pleasant and in no way "risky." Dr. Zhuo called me back to regret my earlier review and said that the receptionist did not handle the situation correctly. He was very professional and courteous. For that, I upgrade the rating to "3" I cannot give a "4" because training the receptionist is the responsibility of the office. Yes, we are not there mainly for the receptionist, but it's the whole customer/patient service experience. The restaurant analogy I like to use is food vs. decor/service. The main thing is the food, but if the service/decor is lousy, you don't feel like eating the food. I haven't received a thorough cleaning and check-up from a dentist in ages, so I was a little nervous coming here at first. But after all was said and done, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Zhuo at EZ Dental Care! He was very patient and very dedicated to me even as a new patient, and the care that I received was TOP NOTCH. Sometimes when you find a convenient location near Main St. in downtown Flushing you are skeptical of how good it can really be. Let me say that you will be in for a pleasant surprise because Dr. Edward Zhuo is an amazing talented, professional dentist. His dental office is everything you are looking for and more: friendly, modern, and very clean, all the equipment is sterilized. :) Like many people, I put off going to the dentist because I am a little scared of getting work done. I mean who enjoys getting their teeth fixed anyways? But it's something we all need to do! It's better to get it done sooner than later before a cavity gets so big that it causes us a ton of pain. Well you don't have to worry with Dr. Edward Zhou, he is a really gentle and professional dentist with excellent bedside manners. He has a lot of experience extracting wisdom teeth-something I have been putting off for way too long. I got my two wisdom teeth extracted which happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I think he removed both of my wisdom teeth in less than 10 minutes. :D If I had known they could remove two of my wisdom teeth that fast I would've done it along time ago. Also the extraction was painless. The whole area was numb and before I knew it I was done. I really appreciate that Dr. Edward Zhou and his staff helped me get as comfortable as possible before getting started. This is the first time getting my wisdom teeth removed and I have to admit I was so nervous before getting my teeth extracted. Dr. Zhou was extremely thorough and patient in helping to clean my teeth and fill my cavities. Theres also a TV screen in front of you to allow you to see your own X-Rays, making it extremely easy to follow everything that is going on. Dr.Zhou also lets you know everything that is going on and explains your situation extremely thoroughly, making sure there is no unexpected surprises during your visit. The lady at the front desk was also extremely professional and greeted me with a warm smile. I highly recommend everyone to see Dr.Zhou. I have been going there for over 5 years. Like other reviewers mentioned it's 1 to 2 hours wait after your appointment time. I didnt mind because Dr Zhuo is excellent and Cindy is very helpful. But my last phone call with the receptionist upset me so much that i will never go back there again. I made an appointment 3 weeks ago and provided her with the health insurance card, but she only bothered looking into it the day before my appointment. (Not the first time it's happened to me) I quickly contacted my provider who gave me reference numbers and names for her to contact so that I could keep my appointment. The receptionist refused to call even though she was the one who messed up. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she abruptly said "no, she is busy." End of story! This dentist / oral surgeon always makes me feel comfortable about the work I'm getting done. I've had one routine cleaning and two tooth extractions: my right lower wisdom tooth and my right lower canine. Both teeth were impacted: the wisdom tooth was blocked by my jaw bone, and the canine failed to eject my baby canine, instead coming up between the back of my right-most two front teeth, which were holding it down. Also, both extractions were beyond the education of a "regular" dentist; I'd had an otherwise great (and very experienced) dentist for many years when I lived in Tennessee who couldn't perform those extractions. Dr. Zhou warned me in advance that I'd be in for a "good time" with those extractions. Of course the extractions weren't pleasant, but Dr. Zhou kept the atmosphere as light as possible, and kept my physical discomfort to a minimum. Aside from his wider set of abilities, I also appreciated that he agreed to set prices in advance for the each procedure. When I first came in for the wisdom tooth extraction, he took several X-rays, but he didn't charge for them. Also, on the canine extraction, he ended up needing to use more anesthetic on me than he would have on a smaller patient, but he didn't charge me more than he'd agreed on. He also didn't charge for taking out the sutures in follow-up visits for each extraction. As I lack insurance, I greatly appreciate his willingness to work with set prices instead of itemizing charges for every tool or supply he needed to use to do the procedures. Finally, I liked that he didn't rush any procedure. I came in for the wisdom tooth because I'd developed an abscess (pus in my gum). The tooth was so far back that it was blocking my ability to clean behind it. Dr. Zhou explained that, although the pain that drove me to him was urgent, he could drain the abscess without extracting the tooth and that extracting the tooth was not urgent. Instead of pressuring me to agree to the extraction, he invited me to look around for the best price as he was confident that his own price was fair. Oh, and as for the routine cleaning, my teeth were spotless. read more

She is the sweetest, friendliest, and most genuine dental assistant I've come across. Very easy to talk to and took a real interest in our conversation. Now, Dr. Zhou's very knowledgeable and patient. I was impressed when he showed me my x-rays on an overhead t.v. screen. Very hi-tech! He was patient to explain to me every little thing I should be concerned about. I didn't feel rushed and he most definitely took his time to ensure I got a thorough cleaning. He can easily see 20 to 30 patients a day, but admitted he only sees 10 patients to ensure he can provide the best care he possibly can! Okay, now the PRICE! I don't have insurance, so price is very important to me. I did my research to conduct a regular cleaning, x-rays, and a basic exam because I haven't been to a dentist in some time. I called nearby offices and they can easily charge anywhere from $100 to $220. Dr. Zhou charged $65 for the same service without cutting corners, AND I GOT A GOODIE BAG!!! Whether you speak Cantonese, Mandarin, or English, you can make an appointment. Both Cindy and Dr. Zhou speaks all three and very fluently too! They also helped me get insurance so that I can get my wisdom tooth pulled without going broke paying out of pocket! Patient for life! read more

I went to Dr. Zhuo dentist a few times and can share my experience with you before you making an appointment: 1. Prepare 1.5-2 hours when you arrive there on time. Yes, even though you have to make it on time does not mean that Dr. Zhuo have the right time on you. Also, speaking less and asking fewer questions. You can ignore this if you are first visit. He is very very friendly on the 1st time visiting patient and even teaches you how to brush your teeth. However, when I become the old patient, he YELLED at me stating that his time is very VALUABLE and refuse to explain how will he do on my teeth! How can the doctor start the patient teeth without any explanation?! 2. No matter what you are in network/out of network, the dentist is trying to get more$$ from your pocket. Please make sure if you are in network on your dental insurance, you should not pay any PENNY on the deductible fee. But the dentist required you to pay first otherwise would not provide service on you. 3. Checking your insurance bill, he may charge you more the date even though you did not visit at all! I agree with the reviewers that the wait can get really long on the weekend. Have definitely waited 3 hours before but this is Flushing... on a Saturday!! I do all my doctor visits on these days so I am used to such long waits. If it isn't long, you know the doc ain't good. Also, I HATE DENTISTS! I have been traumatized by previous places and I still come to this place every 6 months. The people are just really nice and understand my neurotic anxiety. They also remember every patient that walks in the door so it's nice to feel you matter My entire family comes here and we recommend them to our friends too.
