Going into the surgery, I was incredibly anxious, but the assistants and staff were so patient. They went above and beyond to answer all of my questions--even the silly ones--with so much kindness and professionalism. It has been 24 hours since the surgery, and I am amazed by my recovery. I have absolutely NO pain, NO major discomfort, and I can open my mouth normally. I only feel a tiny bit of tightness/swelling, which is completely expected. Thank you, Dr. Fan, for your incredible skills and expertise! If you are nervous about getting your wisdom teeth pulled, this is the place to go.

I had a very disappointing experience with this office regarding my wisdom teeth removal insurance…read morerequest. I visited the office a few weeks ago and was told they would submit the request to my insurance and that I should wait about three weeks. During that time, I followed up multiple times and was repeatedly told that the request had already been submitted, even though the office could not provide a clear proof that anything had actually been sent. I later called my insurance company directly, and they told me they had never received any request from this office. After I informed the office of this, they said they would resend it before closing. I checked with my insurance again the next day, and insurance still had no record of receiving anything. This caused unnecessary delay in my treatment and wasted several weeks of my time. The most concerning part was the lack of clear communication and the inability to provide proof of submission while repeatedly telling me it had been submitted. For patients in New York who experience similar issues with a dentist or dental office, complaints about professional misconduct can be filed with the New York State Education Department Office of Professional Discipline, also known as NYSED OPD (download complaint form through their website). NYC 311 can also direct patients to the appropriate complaint process. Update: Based on my conversation with your office this morning, they now stated that the insurance request was submitted on 05/26 and said they would send me a screenshot showing that it was sent. However, this is still confusing because when I previously followed up about a week ago, one assistant told me she could not see any record of the submission, while I was still told that the request had been sent, your office stated that the assistant who told me she could not see any record of the submission was newly hired. I understand that new staff may still be learning office procedures. However, that does not resolve my concern. Until now, my insurance company has told me they have no record of receiving the request. I am willing to resolve this professionally, but the issue remains the same: conflicting information, lack of clear documentation, and delay in treatment. BTW, I really appreciate your super fast reply on my google review, I hope the actual insurance issue can be handled just as quickly and clearly. UPDATE: Thank you for your super fast Google review response. I understand that insurance authorization can involve third-party systems and processing timelines. However, my concern is that I was repeatedly told the request had been submitted, while my insurance told me they had no record of receiving it. I was also given conflicting information by the office, including being told that one assistant could not see any record of the submission, and later being told that the assistant was newly hired. I understand that new staff may make mistakes. However, from a patient's perspective, the office is still responsible for providing accurate status updates, clear records, and giving proof of submission when needed. Blaming third-party system or new staff doesn't resolve the issue. The issue remains that there was conflicting communication, lack of clear documentation at the time. In addition, I want to clarify that it is not that I do not want to contact your office directly. I had to call the office more than 40 times also send emails before I was finally able to reach someone. When the call was answered, I was told that the office only has one assistant answering calls and that the office is busy, that does not excuse the lack of communication, the difficulty reaching the office, or the conflicting information. From my experience, leaving a Google review seemed to be the fastest way to get a response from your office. I do appreciate the prompt response here, but I wish the same level of communication and urgency had been provided through the normal patient communication channels before this issue became public.

I had one wisdom tooth that has been bothering me on and off for the past couple months where I was taking antibiotics on a monthly basis. I finally realized ok addie- it's time to get these babies out. I called to make an appt and the front desk was very helpful. She had told her I have an infected wisdom tooth and wanted to get it checked out and pulled. She told me that if it is infected- I should come in ASAP to get it pulled and offered me an appt the next day but I unfortunately I was not able to get out of work. I made an appt and surprisingly they took my dental insurance cause I once heard that dental insurances usually does not cover wisdom teeth removals. She informed me not to eat or drink anything 6 hours prior coming in in case I needed iv sedation and to bring someone with me. I went in by 9am today and I was very impressed with the office. It was big, clean, modern, spacey and bright. It kinda took the edge of "oral surgeons office." I registered and I was called in a span of 10 minutes. They first got an panoramic xray of my teeth so see exactly where my wisdom teeth were located on what angle etc. Then I was placed in a room with my xray on the computer. Dr. Huang came in maybe 5 minutes later and introduced herself. She explained everything to me including the fact that my bottom teeth were placed right next to a nerve and embedded into a bone so she would have to shave some of the bone in order to get my teeth out. It sounds really scary and yes I was really nervous and anxious but she made sure she explained the risks and also reassured me as well. She was confident which I liked a lot. I was initially going to get only one tooth out- the impacted one but she explained how the other teeth is going to grow longer if I don't remove the rest. It may not bother me now but sooner or later it might. I agreed to get all 4 removed and opted for iv sedation. Two assistants came in and took my blood pressure, O2, put ekg stickers on me, gave me an oxygen cannula and the doctor came in. She found my vein pretty easily despite me being super dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink anything. She explained that in 30 seconds or less I would start to feel sleepy. I was silently counting to myself and after 9? I don't remember anything. I woke up which seemed like 5 minutes later with gauze in my mouth. The nurse gave me discharge information and some extra gauze so I can change it every 45 mins. Also some ice packs for the swelling. My antibiotic and pain med was sent electronically to the pharmacy so I went ahead and picked up my meds. Right now I'm in pain but that is expected since I took out all 4 at once. It's bearable with ibuprofen. I also bought a gel from her office called "sock it" but didn't use it yet. I highly highly recommend if you need any work done. She is very calm and professional. Seems very well educated as well. I would come back if I need any extensive dental work done.

Dr. Huang has an amazing upbeat personality, is very kind and I appreciated the fact that I was never lectured nor reprimanded. After telling me the honest status of each of my wisdom teeth she gave me the option to choose which to take out with absolutely no pressure on her end. We both agreed I should just take out all four under IV sedation. The biller came in a few minutes after to discuss my prices as Dr. Huang is not in network with my insurance. Thankfully, the out of pocket price was much lower than I expected and I appreciated their break down of the prices. The two assistants who prepped me were also very kind. The assistant with glasses inserted the needle in my arm with care and I especially adored the assistant who spoke Korean! So so lovely, gentle, and exudes calmness. I was out within seconds, woke up soon after with no pain and minimal swelling and was sent on my way with the help of my husband. I didn't even need ice packs! I took the prescribed ibrupofen to help with the little soreness and less than 24 hours later, I feel perfectly fine with absolute no swelling. I really enjoyed my visit, I wish she could be my regular doctor!

I had a terrible wisdom tooth pain that has been painful for a few months in and out. I would just suck it up and take Advil because I don't like going to the dentist. But, after a few months, and after I had an infection in my throat because of the pain, I decided to grow up and look for an oral surgeon. I was still scared of going to the dentist, so I needed to go to one that would provide either laughing gas or general anesthesia. Dr. Ngan's office provides both and because of great reviews of the place, I called and made an appointment. I was lucky that they had a spot within the week and I took it immediately. Dr. Ngan's office is located in Sky View Mall by Skyview Wellness. Parking is $3 for 3 hours, and its located in a shopping mall. Public transportation is just as easy if you don't drive. The office is clean and bright and welcoming. The front staff are all helpful and efficient. I had no problems with anything whatsoever. Dr. Ngan told me the risks of the wisdom tooth removal, and with a PAN of my teeth, explained why I was having wisdom tooth pain. He was very knowledgeable and kind. I was put under laughing gas and within minutes I was going in and out of sleep. Then he put local anesthesia, then injected anesthesia as well as a steroid to reduce inflammation. The whole process (taking 2 wisdom tooth out) took at most 15 minutes. He sent antibiotics over to the pharmacy and today is day 3 and no pain, no swelling! I cannot recommend Dr. Ngan enough! If you're scared to go to the dentist but have bad wisdom tooth pain, he's your go to guy!

Dr. Mao and his wife (who works basically front of the house, in charge of scheduling and other decisions), are very nice people, who try to be as accommodating as they can. They both speak fluent English and Dr. Mao is always cheerful and in a good mood. A lot of people don't like visiting the dentist, including myself, but Dr. Mao makes you feel relaxed and at ease. He explains everything he's doing in great detail and you can't help but trust the guy. The subtle classical music playing in the background helps too..LOL (It mostly rotates between Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and the great Hans Zimmer) He has great attention to detail, as evident during my teeth cleanings, he would finish one row of teeth, and then go back and check every single tooth to make sure he didn't miss any spots, before proceeding to the next row.
