He explained what brand of locks we needed based on what locks were already in the doors. He also suggested that we could save money by purchasing the locks and hardware ourselves and then having him install them. He also explained by line item what the individual and total charge would be so there wouldn't be any surprises. We set up an appointment for today, and Kevin kept me apprised throughout the morning as to what his schedule was and when he would be arriving. I had a Hell of a time getting them to work and spent a bloody fortune with another firm ending up with one that did not work though it had been worked on numerous times. I hate to imagine how much I spent. I called Sandfly Locksmith and they sent a mechanic to look at it. HE FIXED THE DAMN LOCK on the first try and in half an hour. Most importantly, he fixed discreet shortcomings that required adjustment, parts (good luck finding 90 year old lock parts), and expertise. It required craftsmanship to remove some of the broken parts, but he did it with ingenuity and cleverness. The mechanic also fixed things that required a bit of smash mouth locksmithing. In the end, there were a handful of substantial faults that he corrected in half an hour. He did not just spray some WD-40 in there and say a prayer. I like to recommend vendors, craftsmen, and trades that produce results and I heartily recommend Sandfly Locksmith - Derek was their wizard. I was considering abandoning these beautiful old solid brass locks, and now I have the peace of mind they can work forever. Thank you and have a Happy New Year.

Long story but let's just say there was immediate need to get in the house!!! (No, it's not what you think). Called Seth Green, the owner who said he could be there within 45 minutes. And he was! He started his magic right away and resolved the issue by drilling out a lock, replacing with a new cylinder keyed to existing key, and cleaned up the mess. It was a pleasure to talk with him as he worked. Such a nice, honest, and fair guy! For an emergency call on a Sunday I was expecting a very high price. I was shocked how reasonable he was. As he mentioned, it's his business, been doing it for a while, and likes to treat people fairly. I think he does just that. His card is in my stack of preferred vendors. My insurance company recommended me going to Safelite but after reading their horrible reviews I felt like if I went and something bad happen to my car it was my own fault. After searching around and comparing google and other fellow Yelper reviews I discovered Coastal Glass Works. I explained my situation and how I needed to have my front windshield replaced and a possible recalibration and that my insurance would be covering the cost and would they be able to help me. The lady on the phone was super helpful and friendly and let me know the process I first needed to take with my insurance before they could take the job. After contacting my insurance CGW reached back out to me the same day to set up my appointment for that Friday. We ended up having to move it to the following week due to Ian. Gotta love hurricanes! I'm busy during the day and don't have the availability to do a drop off or wait at home for them to come out to me. Which would be a bonus for someone else that may not be able to make a shop visit. They had told me 8-8:30 for Friday morning. I arrived on time and was greeted right off by a wet overly excited brown lab and the owner. There was one person in front of me but I appreciated that he acknowledged that I was waiting and let me know he would be right with me. The front room is small but roomie with seating to the left and a DIY Pinterest desk... I ended up waiting for them to complete the install. I enjoyed learning more about the owner and his sister and I had puppy kisses and snuggles while I waited. The back shop area where the restroom is located is clean and organized. They had me in and out in about 2hr and three other people came and went while I was there with small repairs or fixes but I never felt like they weren't taking care of me. The end result... I no long have a U shape crack in my vehicle and it looks great! The owner went over the paperwork with me which wasn't much considering my insurance was handling it and showed me my new windshield and explained care instructions everything to me. They vacuumed all the glass out of my car and clean my windows. Bonus considering I haven't washed my car in weeks! Lol I highly recommend them for their customer service, follow up and work. I did get a quote on what it would have been if I paid out of pocket. And considering that if Ian hadn't come and they could have gotten me in the same week. It was a overall great deal!
