This was GREAT!! I sold my GMC Acadia to them. I was skeptical that this wasn't a legit company, partially because I had never heard of this business model of selling your car, and partially because of the name (it just didn't sound serious.) But I researched it and decided to go for it. It turned out to be the perfect happy medium between doing a dealership trade in (most convenient but least amount of money for your car) and selling my car privately (huge hassle but most amount of money for your car). I made an appointment and went to the Woodland Hills location. The whole thing took about an hour. They did an inspection, posted my car on their portal, and ran an online auction for 10 minutes where we watched a TV screen as about 50 dealers looked at my car. I got about 12 offers I think (10 is average) and I accepted the highest one. You don't have to; you could walk away if you wanted. But that offer was considerably higher than if I had sold my car to the dealership as a trade in. Maybe not as high as a private sale would have been because they are a middle man, but WAY less hassle. An hour versus weeks of fielding emails or phone calls, letting people test drive it only to be ghosted ... no thank you. They wrote me a check right there and I left my car. I had a friend pick me up. It was SO easy. I will definitely do this option again next time. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who handled everything; she was great!! It was a simple process and a fair price. Daniel and Giselle were a pleasure to work with. They seemed very honest and reliable. They offered a price that was higher than Carvana and Carmax, but probably (an expectedly) less than I would have gotten with a private sale. However, saving the hassle of dealing with a private sale was a no brainer. I would highly recommend these guys, and go with them again in the future for another sale. I learned a lot during my visit today. My explanation is that Open Trade is a tech based service to help you get the best price for your car. They broker the deal between you and the buyer and can pay you that day. I got introduced to them through KBB when I decided to send out a feeler on how much my truck would be in this used car market. Someone from Open Trade called me and briefly explained the process. Because this brick and mortar location is located at the end of the Cerritos Auto Mall and in a location with great eats, I decided to come check it out. They take your information and evaluate your car including a road test and lots of pictures and paint density readings. OpenTrade needs to be accurate in its evaluation, or their reputation is on the line and the buyer (as they are relying on the accuracy of the evaluation and never see your car) could hold OpenTrade financially responsible for unreported damages when the car is picked up. The owner of the car sets a price at which they MUST sell the car. Only then can the auction begin. Once they open the "auction", you get to watch the bidding live. The bidding is in $100 increments as the buyers (usually dealers looking for certain vehicles) use their app to bid on your car. If the bids meet or exceed your price, your car is sold! Don't forget, if you do sell your car you need to find a way home! They have been in business via a mobile unit for 7 years, for the last year they switched to a brick and mortar option. They are planning more locations, including Vegas, and more in Los Angeles! read more

In summary, I received, in the mail, a vehicle report from CA Highway Patrol in Feb 2026 stating that my car had been found abandoned on the street and was now in storage. I sold this car In Aug 2025 and received a Bill of Sale and Release of Liability at that time from EZGO. I called EZGO immediately (on a Saturday) and spoke to Bryan who assured me I had no liability, but that his manager would call me on Monday. On Monday the manager, Lee, called. He said he would contact Highway Patrol and get it sorted out. He later called me back and said he had resolved the matter and I was off the hook. so I had 2 cars and needed a way for me to sell my 2022 Bmw 430i coupe with bald tires and a small damage in the interior. I took great care of my car but I realized that the car price has been dropping really fast so I had to sell my car for the most money ASAP. Carmax offered $35,000 after inspecting the car and they said they can't go any higher. Other few auction companies that charge fees of $100 - $295 even if you don't accept the offer... There are quite a number of copy cat companies that give vague shady offers that will trap you... By going with other shady auction companies, your payoff check will never be sent to your bank... Not here at EZGO, you will be cared for and supported from A-Z until your payoff and title transfer is done. I got an offer from other shady auction company in Irvine. They inspected the car, then offered me $36,500 but after reading their genuine 1 star bad reviews like the payoff not being done even after few months later... People stuck with payments from their banks but they can't even get through the receptionist. I didn't want to take a chance with other shady auction companies. Cargurus is other legit way to sell car and they offered $36,299 but they haven't seen my car and no inspection yet. Even then I didn't want to accept $36,299. So really my highest forsure offer was from Carmax for $35,000 as is. I personally know general manager of a well known dealership and he told me that he cannot touch my car and told me to just sell it at Carmax... So I felt hopeless but I didn't give up and had faith that God will provide a better way. I've tried to sell privately online for more on Autotrader by paying $59, Cargurus, Cars.com, PrivateAuto.com, Craiglist. I mean I literally used every online and offline platforms. So I did my due diligence for the whole month of September to really focus to sell my car at highest price possible. I had negative equity over $10,000 and there was no way of getting around it but to pay off the negative equity. It was quite stressful however on the upside, it was a great learning experience for me. I genuinely needed help because if I was to keep my car longer I knew that my car value was going to be lower thus my negative equity will be bigger. I scheduled appointment with Gil to meet at Glendale to get the car inspected. He took his time to take detailed photos and note any and every paint chip or damage even the small damages. Gil was able to negotiate with the dealer and got me higher offer. He was able to bring up the price up to $36,600 as is even with the bald tires that needed to be replaced. on 09/26/2023 Gil got a ride from his employee to my house and I signed DMV vehicle/vessel transfer and reassignment form and Authorization for Payoff. I gave him both keys and he took the car. I made a copy for myself and the very next day on 09/27th the check was sent to my credit union and I called my credit union today and confirmed on the phone that my auto loan was paid off and closed today 10/02/2023 around 12pm. I logged into my account and found the auto loan account completely gone like it never existed haha :D My credit union told me title is being prepared to be delivered to EZGO directly and it will arrive by next week. There is nothing else I need to do on my end. Now I'm free from my car that was giving me massive headache. I almost reluctantly sold my car to Carmax for $35,000 like ox going to slaughter house... However because I decided to give a try at EZGO, I was able to save $1,600. Best thing of all is that there was no hidden motive and $0 cost on my end towards EZGO. Gil and his team work hard to get you the highest bid for your car and they really have no hidden motive but to genuinely help you. Now I can breathe and my headache is gone... I first found out about EZGo Cars when I saw their number while I was driving around the car dealerships of DTLA, and I'm very glad I did! After providing some initial info on my car, one of their co-founders, Gil, called me to provide an estimate on what my car would sell for as well as to schedule a time for him to visit me at my apartment to evaluate the car in person. After visiting, he matched me with a buyer the very same day! I was also able to leave my car on the street and his team picked it up without me needing to be present, which I found very convenient. All of this was also done while I was waiting for my family to obtain a duplicate title for my old car and ship it to me over from Illinois, so Gil was very accommodating and flexible in regards to this and took care of all the DMV paperwork. I am rarely one to leave reviews but I had such a great experience selling my car with Gil and his team that I feel way more people should know about EZGo Cars. Always be skeptical of anything that appears to be too good to be true. Before bringing my vehicle to Opentrade, I did some research and found mostly positive feedback. I was sold on using their service after watching two different YouTube videos from people who had shared their experiences. The bid proposal at the end of the bidding process was pathetic, and the staff's enthusiasm was perfectly aligned. I used both of their offers to leverage $7,000+ (the amount I was hoping to receive) above my Ford payoff.
