It's rare to find a martial arts gym like this that honors its' fighters and community. Staff members are friendly/helpfuly/supportive in whatever caused you to come to this gym. I saw multiple occasions where the head coach would pour time/effort/care into teaching each student here, especially from the young kids sessions; dealing with incidents of behavioral issues with such finesse and understanding. While at the same time providing a place with the GREATEST equipment for martial arts/physical training (150lb dead-weight sack was so cool working out with) A real Fighters gym The price is THE absolute deal for the service provided at this facility with unlimited classes and gym access This place truly is a FANTASTIC addition to our community here in Plano,TX and I am so happy and honored with the head coach's decision to open his gym here. Personal Experience - Please Read Before Training Here…read more I've been boxing for over 10 years and initially joined McSweeney's in 2021 when the gym first opened. I trusted Coach McSweeney's experience and judgment. Unfortunately, I suffered a serious injury while sparring in December 2024 -- a torn ACL. At the time, I was told to "walk it off," and I did, trusting that it was something minor. I continued to train, despite recurring pain and instability in my knee. The injury worsened over time, and my concerns were often brushed aside. I was told I didn't need surgery and that he had gone through similar injuries himself, which made me delay seeking medical attention. Eventually, my knee gave out during training, and I was forced to get checked. I've now been diagnosed with a torn ACL and meniscus and am scheduled for surgery. I've lost out on job opportunities and missed out on other commitments because of this. I want to be very clear: the community at this gym is great. This isn't about the members. But if you're considering training here, please listen to your body and do not dismiss injuries based on casual advice -- no matter who it comes from. If you're in pain, go see a doctor right away. I'm sharing this not out of bitterness, but to help prevent someone else from going through what I did. I remained respectful and patient throughout the process, but I did not feel supported when I finally brought this up to Coach. I wish I had trusted myself sooner. This is my honest account and not meant to attack anyone personally -- just to raise awareness so others can make informed decisions about their health and training.

I just became aware of fraudulent charges on my VISA from Hotworx North Plano via the Square.com…read moreapp. I visited the North Plano location in December and declined to get a membership after the one complimentary class. I never set foot in Hotworx after that class. I do know that the gal that helped me on that initial visit left the company shortly thereafter bc I called Hotworx a few weeks after that Dec visit to see if they would waive the $99 enrollment fee and was told no.... So, she must have started charging my credit card illegally bc I never signed a membership agreement. I was adamantly opposed to both the enrollment fee as well as the 90 day committment. I have spoken with Capital One and advised them that I would inform you of the fraudulent charges as I am proceeding with a formal dispute. I have also contacted the corporate office to make them aware of what is happening at this North Plano location. Quite easy to verify that I have never been back to that location as there will be no record of me entering via the 24 hour access. Please contact me asap to get this resolved. My card has been charged 4 times: 12-27 13.44, 1-2 68.87, 2-3 68.87 and pending now 68.87. The decor was super chic as well, and it felt so lovely to be there. I took the Reformer class with Gabby, and I really enjoyed the entire class. I typically take megaformer classes, but Bodybar was a fun way to switch it up. While I found it to be a little bit easier than a megaformer class, it was still a challenging and fun class that consistently burned out my muscles. I especially loved the lunge-lift move that made it feel like I was flying. :) I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in town!

However, Benny took me by the hand and showed me that working out can be fun. He also has a Master's Degree in nutrition and encouraged me to change my diet and lose weight. So now I'm 79 and I have to admit it's been a long term (14 years) valuable experience for me. Even my wife joins me from time to time and speaks highly of Benny and the amazing trainers he has had over the years.
