Staff is friendly, it can be very busy at certain times. Overall, everyone there is helpful . No, complaints from my family .

Service is always great. They just need to hire more tellers. They are always short staffed. It's the holidays and during lunch time this is what you walk into at 1:02pm... a long line. Friendly and efficient employees. F&A is the best. I've been a member for 35 years. They counted several large buckets of coins for using their coin counter with no charge or fees. CoinStar would charge 11 cents on the dollar. The girls took the buckets in without hesitation and cut me a check. If you want a professional credit union where the bankers are never uptight or unprofessional, then look no further. F&A is the number one institution to choose. They truly take care of their members. They will never do or say anything to upset a member. They are the most helpful employees that I know. I canceled Bank of America because of poor service. I used to go to the main branch in Monterey Park, but ever since this branch opened up I have been coming here for most of my transactions. I have been to this branch I believe three times. It's nice to have a branch close to where I live and work. For the most part, I usually come here to make some quick transactions. Whenever I'm here I don't feel very welcomed comparing to other banks that I've been to. Maybe it's a credit union thing. This branch is a lot smaller than the one in Monterey Park and the times that I've been here there was only one teller available. It was a good thing that it wasn't that busy. It would be nice to have more than just one teller because even though it wasn't busy I was still waiting in line. My most recent visit was yesterday. I came in to get some tickets to Magic Mountain and I was a little disappointed leaving this branch. I needed to purchase eight tickets for this weekend and there were only three left. The person who was helping me at that time gave me some options: either pick up the rest of the tickets at their main location (Monterey Park) or come back another day when they get more. Well I was not too happy with either option. It was three something in the afternoon and the other branch closes at four and from Whittier to Monterey Park was not that close. In addition, yesterday was my only day where I got off of work at 2:30. I had no choice but to speed my way to the branch in Monterey Park. Luckily, I made it in time and no speeding ticket. I should've just driven straight to the MP branch because they always have everything in stock. However, I didn't have a hard time finding a parking space at this branch as they have their own parking lot. It's a small one, though. Lesson for the day: come to this branch for just some quick transactions and anything else to save myself from all the trouble just drive to the main branch in Monterey Park. read more

Been coming here since I was a kid! I know all the girls! They are all so friendly especially Roberta! I always enjoy coming in with my kids they especially love it when they have candy for them! (zero stars)...omg worst experience i'm receiving right now... i have been having problems with seeing my bill pay it's been months...i haven't been able to make any changes on my own because of this new third party vendor both of my accounts were merged & that causing a problem when i need to call. i called on 08/11/22 spoke with someone name wendy i asked wendy to stop a payment due to come out wendy informed me she was unable to make that change & would i like to speak to someone about it & i said yes.. however the payment came out anyway being & i never received a call back & i still had no access to make changes... that caused a downfall of issues & this is my livelihood.... i received a call from danielle on 08/30/23 whom has been the best with assisting me with this matter.. danielle called to inform me that the problem has been resolved as of 08/30/23(thank you danielle)... wendy did not inform danielle that i did need help.. in fact she stated i did not... now receive a call from call center supervisor roberta.. all roberta offered me to push my car payment back until 10/23 being i'm a little over which that will accrue extra interest.she areed it will... how is that helping me? putting me further in a whole with something else.. why do i have to make that kind sacrifice? when it's f&a who messed everything up for me.. i didn't screw this up the bank did.. i can't take this bs anymore i can't believe my bank failed me.. it's a pain in the ass to even navigate this new system as is... wtf this has stressed me tf out read more

Had the worst, most demeaning, experience with F&A's loan department recently. They were very unprofessional with me and my husband, and someone within the company completely messed with our application and blamed us for lying when we submitted all the proof they needed. During these hard times and my long family history with F&A, I expected better. Thinking about closing our account because I could not believe what they did to us. read more

My husband and I drove to Whittier today from Yorba Linda. My husband was a fire captain for LA County Fire, and served at two stations in Whittier during his career, station 28 and station 17, so he enjoyed seeing that Whittier is still beautiful and that the same businesses are still thriving. We had to put our accounts into our new Family Trust. We enjoyed our drive, but we especially enjoyed "Denise" who helped us through all the paper work. She explained everything we needed to do, and was so kind. What a pleasant experience. Thank you Denise! We look forward to seeing you again. read more

I could not believe how insensitive these people were. I have a friend that recently passed away. I took his 87 year old mother in to claim his accounts, which should have been a very simple process. I have worked in banking for many years and when a family losses a loved one we do our best to show compassion and to help the family. Not one person knows what they are doing or can make a decision without calling several people and the entire time your there they are treating you like a criminal. They had my friends mother in tears. The whole experience was awful. My friend was a retired firefighter and would never have banked with them if he knew how they treat people. read more

Interestingly awkward experience. Went into the Whittier branch to make a deposit for an F&A Member earlier today, and was greeting with.... well I wasn't greeted at all. So I am standing there... and standing there (teller looks up at me)..... and then standing there some more until one of the tellers does the one finger "come here" motion and says "NEXT". One of the tellers was counting cash, so I get that, but not a be right with you, someone will be with you shortly, just a moment, nothing. Mind you I am the only person in line and the teller windows are 6 about feet in front of you. Once at the window, I let the teller know that I would like to make a deposit for one of their Members and without any eye contact says "Member number, driver license". It was the same type of service you would receive from a court clerk when you're paying a traffic ticket. I've been working for a Credit Union since 2010 and would never treat any Member, non-Member, CO-OP Member like an annoyance. In cases like these, I blame management and their lack of leadership. These ladies looked like they were all about that age when you're about to hang up the gloves and are showing up specifically for that paycheck. Not what Credit Unions ultimately stand for which is people helping people. read more

I have a cashiers check that I recently found in my desk drawer. It says it is void 90 days after the date. It was purchased at the Monterey Branch of the F&A Federal Credit Union. I went to the Monterey branch and went to the front desk and said that I have a check that was past the 90 days and asked to have it re-issued. The women at the front desk said ok, it could be done and asked for my membership number. I am not a member of this credit union and I told her I was not. She referred me to the assistant manager, who told me that since I was not a member that they would not re-issue it without getting the approval of their member. Now I don't understand why their member has to approve it since he purchased the check from the credit union and gave it to me. He is no longer involved. The new re-issued check will not come from his account. The credit union has the money sitting in their account waiting for me to cash it (I checked with their accounting department) but they refuse to simply re-issue the check without talking to their member who purchased the check from them. I have talked to other credit unions who say they don't understand why I can not get the check re-issued without involving the member. If it is a policy of their credit union, it is a policy NOT a law that they can't re-issue the check without talking to their member. So I have tried unsuccessfully for 10 days to reach the man (their member) who purchased the check from the credit union. I have called and left voice messages on a cell phone, sent a certified return receipt letter, checked for him on face book, and people search without success. The credit union said they tried to call too but they did not reach him either. I asked them what can be done if he either can not or does not respond (perhaps he is in the hospital, sick, moved to another state??), they did not answer this question. I asked what other avenue that can be taken and they did not answer. I asked for the names of their senior officers, Branch Manager, Vice President, President and they will not give me those names. The only response from them after I told them everything I am doing to satisfy their request to have the member come to the office to have the check re-issued is "I have not heard from our member, I will contact you as soon as he makes contact" They are even willing to inconvenience their member when it isn't necessary for him to have to do this since they are the ones holding the money in their account NOT his! The check is quite a large sum, I don't know if they think that if they don't re-issue it then their credit union gets to keep the money when the money belongs to me for the sale of a product not to them. I see them as holding to a technicality because I am not a member. I said I would become a member but they won't let me since I am not a fireman or in agriculture and I don't qualify. It is a catch 22, if I were a member then they would re-issue the check, no problem but since I am not a member and can not become one, then they won't re-issue the check. I thought credit unions were about service and caring, this one sure isn't. read more
