If you're an average parent like me with minimal plumbing knowledge, and want to be overcharged and have to spend the next couple of months paying off the extra cost of a service that should've been 60% cheaper...go with this company. We had what I now learned from a non-local family friend was a simple backflow preventer failure. The friend ball parked it around $500-600 max, and that was with up to 2 hours of time taken. This company charged me $1300 for an hour of time with a single part being replaced. Similar parts are available online for $150 (and I assume they get parts even cheaper). My family is leaving town this weekend and I wanted to ensure this got fixed (but it was not an emergency call), so I didn't take time to vet out other contractors. I regret that, and have learned my lesson. Thanks F.F. Hitchcock. The Tech who visited was professional / explained things well. I called these people to check my heat pump. It doesn't run much because i use my gas fire place. I noticed the fan was moving forward and back slightly. The tech. checked a few things and said he called Lenox. This was normal he said. Fire place took care of the heat. When i went to use the unit a while later, same thing, then a code showed. I called another company and they diagnosed the problem. Motor was bad. The fan does go back and forth, slightly,but then, it is supposed to spin according to Lennox. SERVICE took longer than usual, probably due to their lack of experience.... As they were only halfway through their apprenticeship.. And result was that we were overcharged.... DO NOT HIRE - I felt like they tried to scam me. My central air conditioning went out and I called F&F for a diagnostic after reading their glowing reviews. Don't believe what you read! They inspected my unit, told me my HVAC system's compressor completely failed, described it as the whole system having a "heart attack," and insisted it used a type of refrigerant that is no longer in production, and thus the entire system would need replacing. Then, they charged me the diagnostic fee AND an additional $175 for "Specialized repair including special order parts, equipment, or additional labor" -- none of which they provided!!! I had sleepless night wondering how I could replace the whole system. Before shelling out on a whole new system, I sought a second opinion. Another technician from a different company came out to the property today to inspect the unit. They got it back up and running by simply PLUGGING IT BACK IN. Sadly, they couldn't help diagnose the original problem because the tech from F&F left everything open and disconnected, so there was no way to tell what initially came undone. I stopped my renovation to wait for them to do an energy audit, they did it, then the office manager refused to give me the form to get an insulation rebate filed. hitccock installed central air in my home on 5/26 / 26 , they left a terrible mess , some blue glue on my furnace debris around the install , im currently having work done on my home and had new floors installed and they left the duct work on them with no protection. took out fire stops then said i need to have the contractor fix it because they are not carpenters . then the same day the A/C system started leaking, i was going to have them replace my oil tank but not anymore. i called the company and they could care less none of my concerns were addressed. i was not happy with them . be careful on who you hire read more

HORRIBLE! We made an appointment in May for an AC tune up. They didn't have an appointment for over a month. We waited and waited then a few days before the appointment they called to cancel because a heatwave was coming and they needed all techs available. They didn't offer us another appointment until about a month later. This is where it gets MUCH WORSE. The technician finally comes out for the tune up. It is a young guy (Jack), obviously a new tech. He didn't even know how to open the AC cabinet. Everything checked out ok although it is an older unit, 80 psi. 1.5 days after the technician left, the system stopped working. We had them come back and there was almost zero pressure in the system and they said there is nothing they can do. I had another trusted tech out from a different company and he said FF Hitchcock definitely broke our system. They are either totally incompetent or purposely sabotaged our AC. I had a hot water heater 10 months ago installed by this company. Recently I came home to find out there was no hot water coming out. Thankfully, my neighbor was an electrician. When the hot water heater was installed, they inspected it a couple months later they had another person inspected. At no point was I told there was a problem with the electrical. However, I just came home and there is no hot water. There were wires exposed that they did not cover. They were not even connected. I'm actually lucky my house did not burn down because of their faulty installation. When I contacted them, they said well it's your fault because your electricity is from the 1970s. Again, this was inspected twice and at no point that they bring any issues to my awareness. I contacted them they pretty much said screw you. I'm including pictures of their shotty work and I'm telling you right now if anybody talks to Jane at this company, hang up the phone and run the other way. Beware of these guys! I called them to come out to unclog my kitchen sink. It was $109 just to get the guy here. He takes a look at my sink and says that it seems to be okay. Since he's here anyway I ask him how much it would cost to snake out the line and he quotes me a price of over $800. That's just insane!!! I have worked with the water Dr for years and this was my first off experience , I was charged 169 for them to show up , 2500 for an excavator to dig two holes , and 4000 for them to fix the hole in line which I was never sure if there was ever a hole , they said my pump was broken so they brought out another one , that didn't work so they put in a submersible without asking me first and the pump I purchased from them less than a year ago didn't have a warranty but they are checking on it , and on top of it my well was damaged and broken on the cement lip ! the lines of the wires to the submersible were going to be left exposed without any protection hanging in between the lip and cover of well sitting on the ground and then Through the basement door and he told me not to use my basement door if I don't want to wear out the wires! I have never left a bad review for anyone but I spent too much and don't want to see this happening to someone else read more

Our job was pretty simple: hooking up a new sink, disposal and dishwasher. The tech spent most of the time chit chatting on the phone, and left us with a very sloppy job. The putty around the drain assembly is a mess. Even though he knew what the job entailed, he didn't come with the proper parts, and had to go out in the middle of the service call to buy them. Later that evening, we discovered that he left us with a leak, so they sent the same tech back out to fix it. Turns out he hadn't finished tightening the connections. This is elementary stuff. Shortly after, we discovered that our dishwasher wasn't working properly. It was drawing in waste water from the drain pipe. Turns out that the tech didn't properly hook up the dishwasher either. I ended up fixing that myself. I tried having FF Hitchcock quote another job for me, but they would never respond to my calls or e-mail. Funny that now they're sending me marketing texts in an effort to drum up business. FF Hitchcock is a big waste of time and money. read more

Be very very careful with these guys!!! John came over and tried to charge over $800 to "pump out and inspect" our sewage pump! Ended up still charging over $500 when we called him out on it but that wasn't the worst of it. He Told us we needed a new pump and tank cleaning and quoted us $3,300 dollars! No the pump is not made of gold!! BUT he said they would replace the check valve for free with a new pump (remember this it's important.) He Never took the pump out to actually test it to see if it worked just drained the pit and looked in with a flashlight. Something didn't compute and we weren't born yesterday, so we had a retired plumber friend come over to check it as we didn't want to wait and spend $3300 if we didn't have to. He came over removed the pump and took all of 10 mins to determine it worked fine before putting it back in (I have a video to prove it too!) He then determined it was the (you guessed it) very cheap CHECK VALVE that was the real issue and replaced it in less than 10 mins and everything works great!!! I am so tired of being conned by people you are relying on to fix an issue that they are supposedly experts on at a reasonable price. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SERVICE MEN! THEY ARE EITHER CON MEN OR THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!! (even though I believe he knew EXACTLY what he was doing). Customer BEWARE when it comes to this very poor and I believe DISHONEST company. I wouldn't trust them to install a stopper in my bathroom sink!!! After leaving this review we were contacted by John B who said he is an owner and he apologized for our experience and promptly issued a refund for what we were charged.
