This instructor put out weights which was a fun change of pace but I found mine were mismatched during the first exercise. It took several times of me waving at her for her to notice I needed help but she swapped them out quickly once she came over to talk to me. Otherwise it was a great heavy workout that day and I enjoyed it.

The instructor, Grace, was energetic, motivating, and did an absolutely fantastic job of providing clear cues for what we were doing, and prepping for the movements we would be transitioning into. I am curious to check out the variety of other classes, and will definitely be back. It's worth noting that I live 30 minutes away, and the fact that I am planning to make the drive speaks volumes.

When I tell you that Blue Ocean has changed my life, I really mean it…read more My two closest friends started working out here a couple of years ago, and after finally giving in to peer pressure, I decided to give it a shot last January. I'm coming up on my one year mark and I can honestly say it has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself! I never felt great about any gyms I've belonged to in the past. I'm not a huge group class person, and personal training has always been $$$$$. Enter: semi-personal training! Basically, each of the trainers here has a few clients at one time, but it still feels, well... personal. You get your own workout, there are just others around you doing theirs, and it actually adds a fun element of community at the same time. Instead of working out so hard that you can barely walk the next morning, the approach here is more reasonable and based on intentional repetition vs. killing yourself. I typically do three circuits made up of 3-4 exercises, 3-4 times each. My muscle growth has been slow but extremely consistent, and I'm finally seeing the exact results I've always wanted. Working out three times per week at Blue Ocean has kept me feeling so strong and healthy. As a bonus, when I have to travel for work, I can pause my membership--and they even give me workouts to do on the road. The trainers are fantastic people, and the clientele is great, too. I look forward to belonging to Blue Ocean for a long time!

So I decided to come back. Get my mind right. Get my body right. Step back into that early morning glory. And... immediately regretted it. Let me set the scene: One coach. No mic. No form correction. No encouragement. No presence. She introduced the stations, then went off-grid like she had somewhere else to be. I watched people literally coaching each other mid-workout -- not for fun, but out of confusion and concern. Someone almost got hit by a weight. I wish I were exaggerating. It was giving: "You got it, girl!" but in the way people say it when you don't got it and they're just hoping for the best. This is not the F45 experience I knew -- and not the one that keeps people paying boutique prices. This was a self-guided tour through chaos, with vibes but no supervision. Like an escape room... with dumbbells. What happened to the two-coach model? The accountability? The energy? This isn't just about convenience -- it's about safety, quality, and the entire point of going to a class instead of winging it in your living room. No shade to the coach -- this feels like a systems issue. And judging from the whispers during class and in the parking lot after -- I'm not the only one noticing. If things ever shift back to real coaching, energy, and safety, I'd love to return. But right now, it's not giving what it used to give -- and I hope whoever's running things sees that before more members walk away

The classes are split between cardio and weight workouts. They have hybrid workouts during the week too! The coaches at Dogtown are great at making sure you get a good workout. They help modify exercises as well. The gym is clean and well maintained. They give you complimentary towels for your workout. The gym is also great at getting involved in local community events and supporting other local businesses! If you haven't tried it, stop by they and get a good workout they are doing a promotion now for 14 days for $14.
