I'm usually not a fan of HIIT/circuit training style workouts, but F45 makes it approachable and fun and creates a great sense of community! I love the variety of exercises and equipment they use in each class, and the attentiveness of the trainers in monitoring and correcting everyone's form. I also appreciate the screens showing demos of each exercise and outlining the structure and movement of the circuit, although the sets do move quickly and you may miss a few reps if you take too long to get situated at the station. The studio itself is very clean and bright (but not sterile, which is an important distinction!) with lots of natural lighting through the windows. They offer a variety of cardio, resistance, and hybrid classes, though I mainly go to the resistance classes for guided heavy strength training that I would not be able to do on my own. read more

Great experience! I've been going to Title boxing since 2016. Because of injuries I was looking into something different but just as rigorous. A gym friend recommended F45, I had never heard of it. The staff is very friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was checked in. I was given a brief layout of how the place works and where everything was. Deanna was our trainer for the session and was amazing. She was encouraging, worked the room, and a great voice and presence and corrected form when necessary. Rachel took time after class to further explain how everything works: the schedule, types of classes, and payment. The facilities are very clean and thoughtful. It's not the largest space but they made great use of what they have. There are open faced cubbies, 2 restrooms and 2 shower rooms. The deodorant, hair ties and lotion in the bathrooms were a cute touch. The equipment were well maintained. Nothing was worn down or tarnished and everything was perfectly spaced and organized for movement around different stations. My only concern is that with a wrist a knee injury the cardio day was a bit hard on my body and accommodations were not great or possible for some of the workouts in the session. I was told to just skip doing that but I ended up doing my own modification and working through it anyways. Give yourself extra time to have trainers assess the workout routine with out and preempt where you may have challenges due to injuries and try to find mods Worth a try if you get bored with the same workout everyday or have a hard time thinking of workouts for yourself. This brand spanking new location of F45 is for serious athletes. It's much like other circuit training gyms where you move from station to station with short rests in between, but the screens around the room demonstrating each work out and counting down the seconds until your rest are what keep things modern and clear. No more trying to memorize the moves for a dozen or more stations or wondering how long until you move. The screens are my favorite part of working out at F45. The trainers were upbeat and extraordinarily friendly, but even with two of them walking around a relatively small gym I felt they didn't always correct my form. Had I flagged someone to ask about posture I'm sure someone would've showed me, but sometimes it's hard when you have just 20 seconds of movement before you rest or move onto another station. The circuits are incredibly short here. I found the music to be too chill for such an intense workout. I think the soundtrack influences how hard you push during a workout, and I need the music to be loud and for the bass to be heavy for me to get into it. Still, the workout was quite challenging and I am feeling totally spent, hours after my workout this morning. I am so happy these mega effective workouts that fly by are growing in popularity, because it's the only way I like to workout. read more

I love this F45 gym. Not only is it new, clean and well kept, but the trainers are also amazing at motivating and creating a community. The workouts (like all F45s) are intense - but you can make it your own at any level. The trainers are always helpful in giving modifications to make things more or less challenging for each individual. I myself have an old back injury, and they are always so careful in making sure I am working out safely and effectively. Literally I speak to them before and after each workout to set me up for even more success the next time. IMO, the set up of workouts is a perfect combination of working out out in a group, but also solo working out. Although you're surrounded by other people, you are doing your exercise during each interval which is different than what others are doing. You may have another person or two at your station, but you are doing your workout and yours alone during that time. It's a fun way to feel like you're working out with people without the bad side of competition that sometimes comes along with a gym buddy. What's even more impressive to me is the community they've already created in such a short time. You get to know the people who go to class around the same time as you, and get excited to see each other every day. This goes for other gym members as well as instructors. Everyone really cares about each other. Even during the COVID19 pandemic, the instructors (special shout out to Alexa!!) made at home body weight workouts that are still based on the F45 normal workout to keep us from going insane at home. And instagram has made our community keep in touch by motivating each other while practicing safe social distancing. It's always in hard times when you can see how amazing people are, and F45 LIC has gone above and beyond. Would give more than 5 stars if I could! read more

In my 20+ years of living in New York City, I have frequented numerous fitness facilities, but F45 LIC stands out as a disappointing experience. The lack of transparency and clarity regarding their policies and fees was disheartening. Rules seemed to change arbitrarily, and additional charges were imposed under the pretense of maintaining high-quality service. However, this appeared more like a strategy to exploit customers rather than a genuine need. The staff's victimhood stance, coupled with their inability to provide clear answers, added to the unsettling atmosphere. Ultimately, I chose to leave F45, as the cumulative effect of these hidden fees and the overall environment was not in line with my expectations of a fitness community. F45 is a welcome addition to LIC. The workouts are challenging, varied, and enjoyable. It is the most efficient workout going around. The facilities are new, giving the studio a fantastic feel. The trainers are wonderful. They help with any questions on your form and push you to new heights. And the owner of the gym is super friendly and accessible. F45 LIC has been a shining light in 2020. I have been a member since day 1 and am continually impressed with how Scott and his team work to build not only strong members but to build a community. During the lockdown the trainers and other members were some of the only other people I saw! F45 LIC has adapted this year with every change in government mandates. They have offered us the opportunity to continue our health and fitness lifestyle (virtual, outdoor boot camps, inside with strict health and safety protocols) when so many other aspects of our lives were uncertain. The workouts are challenging, results are rewarding, and the trainers highly knowledgeable and friendly. I feel like they took the time to get to know me and my strengths and goals; they push me every session and constantly encourage me. As coach Alexa says, "you're stronger than you think!"
