Tucked in a small Publix plaza, Tapout Fitness offers premiere martial-arts infused workouts with highly trained coaches and trainers. If the name Tapout sounds familiar, it's because Tapout Fitness is an extension of the Tapout clothing brand, that officially sponsors combat sport fighters in UFC and WWE. Personally, as a lover of MMA and UFC, I was immediately impressed. Unlike other kickboxing/boxing style gyms, Tapout Fitness is truly focused on teaching proper techniques of each fighting style. Each trainer has extensive martial arts experience and tailor makes workouts that professional fighters practice with all the time. Some workouts are fully focused on kickboxing combinations and techniques, while others also include resistance and interval training exercises with battle ropes and kettle bells. So regardless of your fitness level, you're still getting an amazing workout. On the days I feel like going solo and working at my own pace, I really enjoy the Tapout 20 circuit workouts. Although, they're promoted like a 20 minute workout, I usually triple it for an extra sweat factor. I've been enjoying Spinning lately, and this is definitely one of my most favorite places to get my sweat on! Upon walking in, you'll notice that this isn't like your average, bigger "chain" spin studio. This place is a boutique-like, small place with an intimate feeling. They have a "lounge" type of area with seating, coffee, and you can even purchase pre-made food from their huge cooler. The bikes here allow you the option to either clip into the peddles with your spins shoes, or to strap in to the peddles with your regular sneakers. They do not have shoes for you to use, so make sure you wear good shoes if you do not have spin shoes. They do provide a towel if you don't bring your own! The spin room itself has about 25-30 bikes. They are Schwin bikes with above average comfortability for your butt! This is very important! Haha I must say, if you're looking for an awesome ass-whoopin' ... BROOKE is your girl! This woman is amazing. Her class is exciting, fun, high-paced, high energy, and just everything you want in a spin class! She pushes you so hard, but makes it clear to make the ride "your own" and do the best that YOU can. She's uplifting and empowering and I really look forward to spinning in her class! We've been going to the their free outdoor workouts at the fountain across from Village Tavern at Pembroke Gardens until their new facility in Pembroke Gardens was completed. The Studio is a decent size with lots of new equipment and two bathrooms, including one shower, which is a great help for those going straight from a workout to work or other event. With the new facility complete, we've been going to their indoor classes for about a week now, and have to say that the coaches are amazing and so is the process. The workouts are generally 45 minutes and you rotate through different exercises each day, their are mounted TVs that show you how to do the exercises and the coaches help guide you as well. On Friday, December 9th they are going to have their grand opening party at 5:30 pm, with food, drinks, vendors and raffles so get ready!!!

These are quality classes where there's something for everyone, beginner or novice. I find the classes are always challenging and I've been working out for a while. Yet don't be intimidated if you're new either b/c they do a great job at modifying until you're ready to add that extra weight, rep, whatever it is that you need. As I mentioned before this studio is not pretentious. No one there has to look like silicone Barbie or Ken to give you a good workout or work out beside you. It's a friendly laid back atmosphere, but you'll still get a great workout. The instructors are all great! They teach to their own style, but are always challenging. Stacey is the best Pilates Reformer instructor hands down. I believe she has over 20 yrs of experience. Everyone's always shaking & sweating (sometimes limping, in a good way) from her class. Jimmy is hardcore, like a drill sergeant, but always changes it up and will offer modified versions if you need. Colleen and Darnell are also great and always change things up, so you're never bored. They're both so encouraging, motivating and have the best music. Lastly, regarding the billing when I had any issue (which was maybe once) I'd call or ask in-person. I think sometimes technology & billing can require a bit of a learning curve, so be patient and bring it up if it wasn't resolved to your liking the first time. I find it's likely oversight than intentional because that was the case with me. I hope more great things are to come and that they expand their members, space and classes!
