Finding the perfect gym, that motivates you and feels like home is rare. I've searched high and…read morelow; and I finally found it at Tapout Fitness. Tucked in a small Publix plaza, Tapout Fitness offers premiere martial-arts infused workouts with highly trained coaches and trainers. If the name Tapout sounds familiar, it's because Tapout Fitness is an extension of the Tapout clothing brand, that officially sponsors combat sport fighters in UFC and WWE. Personally, as a lover of MMA and UFC, I was immediately impressed. Unlike other kickboxing/boxing style gyms, Tapout Fitness is truly focused on teaching proper techniques of each fighting style. Each trainer has extensive martial arts experience and tailor makes workouts that professional fighters practice with all the time. Some workouts are fully focused on kickboxing combinations and techniques, while others also include resistance and interval training exercises with battle ropes and kettle bells. So regardless of your fitness level, you're still getting an amazing workout. On the days I feel like going solo and working at my own pace, I really enjoy the Tapout 20 circuit workouts. Although, they're promoted like a 20 minute workout, I usually triple it for an extra sweat factor. Tapout Fitness literally fulfills everything I ever wanted in a gym and I couldn't recommend it more! I love it here!

I am beyond late with hopping on the OTF band wagon, partially because of the pandemic, but…read morehonestly because I'm just lazy. Even though it took me awhile, I'm 100% happy that I finally jumped the gun and joined. If you've never heard or seen OTF, it's about an hour work out class that mixes together cardio and weight training. Everyday day is different in regards to the work out but it always incorporates running on the treadmill (or bike/elliptical), the rower, and then the weight room. They have cubbies and lockers to leave your keys or purse in, a couples of bathrooms, a water fountain to refill your water bottle, and most importantly sanitizing wipes to wipe in between switching machinery/stations during the class because no to germs. I originally signed up for a free week trial and afterwards signed up for Orange Premier which provides me with unlimited classes. It's the most expensive one, but it's also worth it (about $170 a month). Separate from the monthly membership price you can also buy an OTF band (heart monitor) which you put on your arm and it reads your heart rate during class and shows what "zone" you're in depending on your HR. I've compared it with my Apple Watch and it's almost always the same in the amount of calories burned, so it doesn't really matter if you buy it or not as long as you have a smart watch/fit bit. Another thing is that I specifically love this location and the coaches here, a couple of years ago (pre pandemic) I did a free one day trial at the Pembroke Pines location and was not fond of their coach that day at all. My absolute favorites are Carl, he's nice, personable, and down right inspiring and motivating. He always finds the right words to say to help push you when you need that little extra help to finish the block. Then there's Nikki, she's a sweet heart and just as motivating as Carl. I always try to schedule my classes whenever it's them. So if you're looking for a place that will make you leave dripping in sweat and feeling accomplished, you've found it!

I'm paying for a membership that isn't cheap, and I don't deserve to be treated so poorly by the staff. Terry, the first person you see when you walk in, is the worst receptionist I've ever encountered. Then there's Nathalie, the instructor, who kept giving me rude looks as if I had done something to her. Seriously, what is going on at this place? This level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable. I've already contacted corporate to report my experience because no member should be treated this way

They have dynamic pricing for their starts-every-10 minutes workouts with the super early peak 5am-7am slots being over 10 credits each (over $22). But their off peak workouts can go as low as 4 credits each ($8-9). Perhaps because it's new, the studio is sparkling and bright with two of its walls being completely glass windows. The equipment is a pleasure to use, since it hasn't been worn out. The foam pads for resting arms during plank exercises are plush, the sandbags haven't been broken in the middle and have intact sturdy handles, and the medicine balls don't have threads sticking out or about to open stitching. This makes it easy to focus on decoding the movements on the screen in each station and doing them 3 times each. Plus, like each Sweat440, they have towels available to use! My sweaty self thanks them. Each workout for the day has a focus on lower body, upper body, core and cardio or total body. 4 stations for 40 minutes in total with a minute between each station and starting every 10 minutes means you will be able to get the workout in, with no excuses. The movements are shown on a screen at each station, so you don't waste any time asking someone what the next movement is. It does mean you have to grasp the movement in 30 seconds and go when the buzzer goes off, but there is always a trainer going around on the floor if you need to ask for clarification. The only thing you have to think a little more about is how heavy a weight you want to use for the next movement. There will be 10, 25, 45 pound free barbell weights available for something like a goblet squat or squat press, and there will be a full rack of free weights to do something like chest presses, renegade rows or Romanian deadlifts. It's up to you to decide how heavy you want to go, but it's good to start light since you'll be doing it for two more rounds. What I like with this location is that I've always seen at least two trainers present, one at the check in desk and one on the floor cheering and correcting form. It means if you have an issue with your account or a question, you don't have to wait for the trainer to come off the floor to address it. I jammed and skinned a finger in the weight rack once and was able to get a trainer to give me a bandage for my bloody finger right away. The location is great in the heart of downtown Miami Lakes, where a lot of restaurants and shops have been coming up. If you're in the area, I definitely suggest you check this studio out and get your sweat in!

Hands down the best box in South Broward! Prior to joining Siege I researched several boxes in the…read morearea in hopes of trying to determine which of these would be best for me. My main considerations at the time were price and location, I figured everything else would just come together after I'd settle in at the box. I sent emails to three boxes that are relatively close to each other. I got responses from both Fever and Siege immediately meanwhile Crossfit Storm never replied. I decided to check out a crossfit competition that weekend since I knew both boxes would be competing and i would get a chance to meet some of the coaches, members, etc... Immediately upon arriving at Crush games I seeked both boxes out and noticed Siege was a dominator. In addition to that, I felt the members seemed friendlier. Meanwhile the other box had somewhat of an arrogance to them which I did not care for. I confirmed that once I spoke to a coach who made it clear to me that their box was superior and that "you get what you pay for" when I referenced other boxes having no contract, etc... All in all, the proof is in the pudding. Siege finished top three in this competition showing me it's more like "you get what you put in." That weekend was a deciding factor for me. Not only did they represent their box well at a competition, but they proved themselves over and over again by actions. No frills, no egos, no arrogance. I joined Siege along with a friend who dropped his box to join them as well and neither one of us have regretted that decision. Their schedules are convenient, their coaches are awesome and even though it's not the closest or cheapest box, I also know it's the right one for me. You can say you're the best but I rather you prove it...Siege has done that time and time again. I'm not the fastest or the strongest nor do I have this insane endurance or mental toughness you see exhibited in the crossfit world...but what I can do is waaaay more than I ever imagined doing when I started proving that with the right support system in place, anything is possible.

I have been going to Siege for about two and a half years now. I love the programming, the coaches,…read moreand the camaraderie. Siege has changed my life and my relationships for the better. Recently, I was traveling all throughout Florida for work. For eight months I dropped in at different boxes every week, sometimes a different box every day.. And let me tell you.. NO BOX COMPARES. The people were nice, the programming was ok at most. But no box has managed to fully utilize the one hour workout the way Siege does. Every day starts with at least a 400m run, followed by a warm up, a strength/endurance/gymnastics/skills WOD, the met con, and more often than I'd like, a buy out. The coaches are with you every step of the way, from demo-ing all the movements (even the warm up!), to providing scalable movements to athletes of all levels. They are constantly providing encouragement throughout the workouts and are always there to help you correct your form to prevent injury. But what I love most about Siege is the people. The camaraderie continues even after the hour is over. From the running club to the whole30 group, to ladies nights, happy hours and beach WODs, there is no place like home.
