I have been attending this F45 location for almost a year, and among all the options on Class Pass, F45 has been the most approachable. The model of having the screens showing the exercises, the demo from the instructors at the beginning, and their coaching during the class make this a worthwhile exercise. While the routines here don't feel as intense as the Burkingame location, you absolutely will get a workout. And any class with Dionne or JR will be a great time. Showers, changing rooms, 2 bathrooms, water filling station, lockers (bring your own locks) all available. San Bruno parking has an awful system and aggressive enforcement, so don't forget to pay. read more

I've been going to F45 on the unlimited pass since last November. I used to do Orangetheory (founding member at San Mateo), spin/TRX at Wheelhouse, Pure Barre, boot camps, and personal training--so I've tried it all. F45 gives me a great mix of similar HIIT-style workouts, but in a more fun, community-driven, and cost-effective format. I love that there are separate cardio and strength days--it keeps things balanced and never boring. Compared to OTF, F45 feels more well-rounded. I do sometimes miss machines, so I'll take a day or two to hit the gym, but F45 is my main workout. This location is conveniently located close to 280/101. It's spacious, clean, the equipment is well maintained and the coaches are always upbeat and supportive. The unlimited pass is also flexible and lets you visit other studios which is convenient when I'm running late from work or traveling. I've checked out F45 in SF, San Mateo, Burlingame, Pittsburgh, and Newport Beach Highly recommend if you want variety, structure, and a strong fitness community. read more

If you like group fitness classes like Barrys or Orange Theory, try f45! I've heard of f45 for awhile but never got a chance to check it out until recently. Please note, this review is only for the San Bruno location but I have nothing but positive things to say! Came here with a few friends to try out their Varsity workout which is their cardio class. I usually go to the gym to weight-lift on my own but what I really appreciate about f45 is the variety of equipment used during the class. From ropes, to rowing machines, to barbells, it was a fun class that went by much faster than 45 min. The trainer Patrick was very attentive, and motivating. Facility was clean, everything was well organized, and there's music! I'd be curious to check-out their other classes but if you're looking for a quick workout that'll challenge you, would check this location out. They have showered and some lockers along with a few changing rooms! Only thing is parking can be a bit tricky. read more

Got my annual membership here about 2 months ago now. Best decision of my life so far lol. I've tried so many workout classes, different gyms, different workout styles, and this has been the one that's worked for me. For the first time I've been enjoying ACTUALLY going out of my way to workout. I got the annual membership, and it came with a free Lionband Heart. It's basically a band you put around about under your sternum, and it automatically detects your heart rate when you step into the gym. It's so fun since you get to have that competitive feeling of wanting to push yourself harder to beat other people's heart rate. The coaches are GREAT. Love coming to Coach Patrick, Coach Rachael, Coach Melissa, and Coach Dionne's classes. The people and coaches are VERY nice, this is ACTUALLY the first gym I've gone where they ACTUALLY practice a "No judgement zone". They accomodate people with a pretty busy schedules since each workout is 45 mins long and it targets about 600+ calories to burn every class. Better than staying 2 hours at a gym where you don't really know what you're doing. This place practices your form in weights, even with cardio exercises. They also provide accomodations if you need to switch your workout with something easier, etc. Really love this place :) read more

I went in for the first time for the circuit class. Dione was the instructor. She made me feel welcome and explained how everything worked. She was kind and patient with me by providing me modifications of the exercises due to a few injuries I have in my body. The group vibe was great and everyone seemed to be friendly. Definitely recommend this gym!! I came to check out this studio while I was on a work trip. Loved the atmosphere and vibes all around. The coach was super helpful and involved when I was struggling at some stations. They made sure to check in with me before the start of the class to make sure I didn't need modifications or if I had any injuries. If I could give F45 San Bruno 10 stars I would. I have been a member since the place opened. I took a break during change of ownership for about a year and returned back in January 2023 . I have tried many gyms in the area , none have me kept me motivated. I have attended classes in other F45 gyms in the Bay Area , and out of state , none to compare to F45 San Bruno! How does F45 San Bruno keep their members motivated? The coaches: Can't rave enough about the wonderful coaches. They are so knowledgeable, and will take the time to work with you to achieve your goals. The community : These will be your life long friends! I have attended other gyms in which no one (not even the coaches) took the time to learn my name. F45 is the opposite , you'll feel like family as soon as you walk in. The workouts : We are talking about ONLY 45 mins of work! You'll leave feeling dead, but in a great addicting way , you'll return the very next day for more! I was kicked out of this gym and not allowed to take class for arriving 5 minutes late. I had taken multiple classes here, always arriving 10-15 minutes to start my warmup, and not once did I see anyone get kicked out for arriving late to class. I've trained and coached at Boxing, Muay Thai, and Crossfit gyms, and never seen anyone not allowed to take class for arriving a few minutes late. There's nothing posted on the website or in the gym, stating you'll get kicked out for arriving late. read more

Hands down one of the best gyms I've ever been to! I started going to F45 San Bruno the very first day they opened. I was skeptical on trying out the gym at first because I was alone, I did not know anyone, and I didn't know much about working out! But the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with smiling faces and such good vibes! Like I have never met these people before in my life but I felt like I belong in there. After that first workout, I became one of their consistent members ever since. I have brought in multiple friends to a few classes and guess what? ALL of them signed up as members! Fast forward to a few months later, COVID hit and the gym had to close down. F45 San Bruno hosted Live Sessions via Zoom and the coaches always go above and beyond to make sure everyone is still giving their best efforts regardless of not being able to coach in person. Coaches have extensive training knowledge. If you're a beginner, they will guide you and educate you about whatever you want to learn. If you're fitness level is advanced, best believe they will constantly test your physical and mental limits! Members have different fitness levels and wide age range. Don't ever think that you're too old, too young, or too inexperienced for this gym because they will work with you and you WILL level up. I walked in not knowing anyone in this gym but I have gained so many good friends with good heart and strong mindset. One of the best decisions ever! read more

I struggled with my form on a station or two, but another member came running to help and the coach provided modifications. This review is long overdue! :) I've been a member since they opened in 2019 and haven't looked back since. I've tried every conventional gym under the sun and a few studios but was never satisfied until I found F45. I enjoy the different workouts every time I come in and the energy from the coaches. They always give me the extra push I need to stay motivated. My schedule usually allows me to train with Chris and Jeff but all the coaches are GREAT. Even when the pandemic hit, it was nice to see their coaches were still dedicated to their members and hosting zoom sessions regularly. I'm also a huge germaphobe so it really helps this studio is clean and tidy :) Members are also respectful of each other and wear their masks and wipe down equipment. read more

Love this gym! Absolutely cannot say enough about how amazing this place is. I was a little shy when I was ready to enroll back into a gym but the trainers not only welcomed me with open arms but the other members did as well. I don't think I've ever been to a gym where I have felt so accepted and encouraged. On top of the overwhelming positivity in this place, the actual venue and equipment is top-notch. Every part of the gym (from day one) was clean and the gym stayed spotless class over class, week over week. This gym and the trainers and members are definitely more family than friends at this point. Even when COVID hit I felt encouraged to keep up my workout goals via Zoom classes and the trainers made sure that I kept giving it my all even if we could not all be together in person. I did a strength training class on a Sunday with Coach Patrick. I was there a little early and as soon as I walked in he and the other staff members greeted me and welcomed me. They first started by asking me questions about my history of training and injury to make sure I can perform the exercises safely. After, the staff members did a great job of showing the exercises ahead of the class and pointing out on how I can improve my form. The feedback was super helpful and made me feel as if they knew what they were talking about. Once the class started I was able to interact with other members in the same class. The staff did a great job creating an environment for us all to be comfortable with each other via ice breaking questions. Throughout the process, I always felt like it was a judgement free zone and everyone was super encouraging. As the workout happened I always felt safe as the staff were monitoring my progress for correct form and preventing injuries, but at the same time pushing me on the workout. read more

I love F45 San Bruno! The workouts are dynamic and fun, and the coaches are awesome. They're constantly cheering you on, making form corrections, and pushing you to your limit to be your best. I enjoy coming in to the gym because everyone is so supportive of each other. The pandemic created some challenges, but the team made every effort to get zoom classes going, keeping them fun and new every time-like adding extra finishers at the end! I like that you can either come in for in-studio workouts, or do live zoom classes. It really helps with my busy schedule! The facility is well kept, the equipment is top notch, and they follow strict protocols for those coming in to workout- mask-wearing, temp checks, sanitizing, disinfectant spray at each station. I LOVE F45 San Bruno. I've been wanting to be part of a fitness community that would help me become the best version of myself for a long time and I've finally found one that works for me and is at a convenient location. The ENVIRONMENT- Its very team focused. While it is a group workout, you're only focused on doing the best that you can do. There is a different themed workout everyday. Cardio based on Monday/Wednesday/Friday & strength and resistance based on Tuesday/Thursday. Saturday classes are a combination of both. This model has been especially helpful for me as I am trying to lose weight but also don't have much strength + lifting experience. There's different stations or pods that you rotate through throughout the 45 minute workout. The TEAM- The owners are very professional and responsive. You can really tell they care about their community. All the coaches are awesome and all the members I've taken class with are friendly. They really have cultivated a team environment. F45 is great for people at all levels because while we are all doing the same work out, you can easily challenge yourself by adding more weight/ more reps within the workout period. The TECH- This studio is super tech savy & that's one of my favorite parts about it. The warmups, workout, timer are all on TV screens inside the studio so you can always use as a guide. You also sign up for classes through the app & there's a feature to add to your calendar so you don't forget which I really like. This helps me keep the commitment on days where I don't really feel like working out after work. Since I've signed up for the class, I'm committed going. Also, if you have the F45 Lionheart Heart Rate Monitor, it pairs with a TV screen in studio and during the workouts you can monitor your heart rate. F45 is also "with the times," and has a specific gif for just about every work out if you're like me and like to post on your Instagram story every time you work out :) The money- Initially, this gym was expensive for me if I'm being honest. I learned quickly though, that its sooo justified. In 2 months I've already been to this gym more than the commercial gym I previously had a membership at for 2 YEARS! The equipment/ studio is clean, there's a water bottle refill station, definitely the cleanest/ fanciest bathroom & changing rooms I've ever seen in a gym! Plus the coaches are knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to help. Class sizes are limited and there are always AT LEAST 2 coaches there. They are constantly rotating around the studio, helping correct form and challenge you to push yourself a little harder. Once I realized I am basically getting personal training in a group setting, this is an easy payment for me. I would much rather put my money towards this, even if it means altering my budget a little and cutting some things out that are not necessities so that I can afford it. I finally found the gym that I'll stick with for a long time! The staff is awesome! They're really friendly and ready to get you into shape, providing feedback and encouragement throughout every workout. The space is nice, clean and has a good setup. I was looking for something that had short bursts of intense cardio and challenging strength training and I finally found it. It's the kind of workout that kicks your butt, then you feel great a few minutes after class is over. Put into it what you're ready to put into it...everybody I've worked out with so far varies as far as goals and I feel like it works for people at different ages and fitness levels. I'm definitely seeing some good initial results from my classmates...y'all are looking great! The main thing that I like is that I don't get bored with the workouts. They have lots of different equipment to work with and everything gets integrated in. I don't personally enjoy cardio workouts very often, but the variety at F45 actually makes it one of my favorite days to be in class. read more
