I kept driving by Base 6 and decided to give them a-go since I like HIIT classes and I workout better in group classes than alone. It's been almost a year since I've been going to Base 6. The classes offer a lot of variety. You are able to push yourself as much as you want or take it easy if you're having an off-day. I am probably one of the least coordinated people and I never feel embarrassed when the entire class is working out on their left side and I'm on my right b/c I can't follow direction. The coaches are very knowledgeable regarding the exercises and correct your form when needed. They also try to push me but know when to back off when I give them the stank eye. The class formats can sometimes be a little hard to follow, but the coaches offer great direction and explanation of the format. The owner, Brian, does a good job keeping the routine engaging and fun. There are always themed classes around the holidays and group challenges. There are familiar faces any time I show up to work out which makes you feel like a small part of a community. Even if you're afraid of HIIT- like classes, give them a shot, you may enjoy it.

This is the most intense full body workout I have experienced compared to any other gym - period! I even did Crossfit consistently for six months and this doesn't compare. I thought maybe some of the other reviewers hadn't worked out much which is why this seemed so hard...nope I was wrong. Be ready for a seriously hard workout every single time. But you also leave class feeling super accomplished and ready to tackle any obstacles! The coaches are encouraging, upbeat and pay attention to form. It's a different workout every time so your body won't get used to any one movement. Now it's important to point out that even if you aren't mega fit it's ok! You can modify anything and take it at your own pace. It's not some crazy bro competitive atmosphere either, people are there to work on their personal goals and fitness - that's it! If you want to build muscle/lose weight, sign up for the free week stat. You're likely to get into the class even if your waitlisted FYI, just be good about checking your email! Parking is easy. Be sure to bring a water bottle and a small towel for sweat!

The instructors (Ryan and Cory) were welcoming to this newcomer and every day is different, so it was easy to jump in despite not being a regular. Each class involved multiple rounds of exercises targeting different body parts of the body utilizing free weights, body weight, other equipment like jump ropes and steps, and lots of cardio. It's not easy, but the classes really fly by! The instructors were motivating throughout and blasted music to keep up the energy. I went early in the morning and street parking was easy to find outside. They have some cubbies to put your stuff, as well as a water fountain, but don't expect too many other amenities like towels or showers.

Too often this is overlooked! - They always encourage you to introduce yourself to everyone. Small detail, but it's nice to know who you're working out with. - The circuits are always different and a killer workout! Both of the trainers I had during the various classes that I tried out were great! If you are new to this gym, you may find it a bit overwhelming that the instructors don't always make a point of showing you proper technique for a movement. There are a lot of different ex cerise's that they use at this gym. If you put your hand up or call the instructor over, they will gladly show you what's up and how to do the movements. If you attend a class on the weekends be prepared for it to be packed! I went on a Sunday and found the stretching session to be pretty uncomfortable because there was what seemed to be about 20 people in there. They sometimes have you do a bunch of sit-ups and other ground exercises on their standard rubber floor and it is a bit uncomfortable on the back and the spine. I definitely wish they had a different kind of flooring or that they put out the square foam mats on days where we had to do a lot of floor work.

I finally built up the courage to visit this studio for a Zumba class and my mind is a little fuzzy…read morein my after class exhaustion but that is a good thing. The establishment is located in a plaza that can get busy during peak evening hours, mainly, due to the daycare centers. My suggestion is to always turn right out of the plaza and go to the Parker Rd light during those times. It's less of a headache in the long run. Within the facility, there is an office or two, bathrooms, and a cubby area for belongings. The studio itself is nice. It's a medium-sized room with two walls occupied by full-length mirrors and a window respectively. It's comfortable right now (only referring to Zumba) but I can see the need for an additional Zumba time each day, in the near future, if more bodies show up & decide to become regulars. The class was lead by Keith, the owner of the studio and it was high energy. Keith is engaging, full of stamina, entertaining, and an interactive instructor. He can use an assistant to help him juggle various tasks in between classes (i.e. greeting, punching cards, questions, liability release, etc) but he manages. The playlist was non-stop, the music had great rhythm, beats, and sound (thanks to his new subwoofer:)), and the class was full. The class schedule seems to be organized well, offering one of each class available, at least, once a day including weekends. The class times were recently adjusted but seem to work well for most 9 to 5ers. He also has several trial and/or discount offers out there. I look forward to continuing the Zumba classes lead by Keith and the other instructors and eventually working into the other classes available. The studio is also offering virtual classes now so I'm excited to experience that. Now I'm going to moisten this rattle in my chest & nurse my sore, dancing feet but you can soon look for my cameo in Step Up XIV, thanks to Let's Do This!!!
