I booked this appointment online and gathered all my paperwork according to what the website said. It was almost an hour and a half drive to get there, but when I arrive, there was still plenty of parking in the lot. One of the first things you notice walking in is the amount of security in the building. There are a lot of guards who were all friendly and helpful. When I entered, they directed me to the line for appointments and then I was directed through another doorway because I was there for my drivers license renewal. I was able to walk right up to a window and get taken care of. Apparently everything that says on the website for the paperwork I needed wasn't accurate based on what I needed in house. I ended up with several items I didn't need and I needed one more proof of identity. They asked if I owned a vehicle and if I had the registration on it. I acknowledge that and offered to go out to my vehicle to grab the paperwork. The woman told me that wasn't necessary and looked everything up online and told me she was able to verify me from there. I was sent into the waiting room with my number and found a seat easily. I was only there for a few minutes when my number was called. I went in the back room and into the window. I was directed too. When I handed her my paperwork, she took a look and said I was missing a second form of identification. I ended up going through a very long explanation about what I had gone through out front and the fact that the woman told me she had verified it and I would be good. Eventually, I must've said the right thing because she did something and then said I was all set. While I was a little flustered by this, the woman was very friendly and understanding. She also realized I was past due for the license plates on my vehicle. Apparently that paperwork went to my old address and never got forwarded to me. She was able to take care of both the registration and the license for me and I was very grateful. After I paid, I went and sat in the waiting room again and waited for them to call me with my updated drivers license. I went out to the parking lot and put the sticker on my license plate so I would be legal again, and I was on my way. This was one of the fastest experiences I have had at a DMV and I actually spent less money than I thought I would. While this was quite a long drive for me, I was glad that I could get it taken care of quickly and efficiently. I had heard from other people that the wait times here could be quite long so I was pleasantly surprised.

I am a white American woman and an attorney, and I immediately noticed the shift in their energy when I later approached the same clerk. I was treated with respect, even though I was less polite, while that man was aggressively escorted out of the building by security. The gentleman was correct when he told them they were required to verify his eligibility through the SAVE system. As an attorney, I can confirm that SAVE is the proper tool in these cases, but many DMV employees appear unwilling to do the extra work. This is unacceptable. DMV staff should not pick and choose who is treated like a human being based on race or immigration status. If the gentleman who was mistreated happens to see this, please know there are witnesses who saw what happened

Jimena is one in a million, and she doesn't have one ounce of laziness. I use her for both my RV and auto business Avery's Autos. Jimena is lightning fast. Jimena has superpowers if you ask me. I overnighted a title that needed to be transferred into my customers name so our dealership could get funded and the very next day she sent me a copy of the title done and overnighted back to me what I needed. I used her over a dozen times and never a problem. Jimena is very transparent and responsive when I need her to the point that I get a reply in 30 seconds. I also love that when I send her a customer that she takes excellent care of them. There are not enough words to say how great she is. Jimena also is honest to tell me that it cost less than expected.

I made an appointment for 12:45 and checked in 15mins before my appointment and sat down for maybe 5 minutes before my number was called. I brought with me so many paperwork and documents to renew my driver's license and Debra said hold on you may not need all of it which took a heavy load of my shoulders. After a few questions about my mental state, if I've had a seizure moment and voters choose. It was than time to take a photo for my new license and $69 payment. Debra was able to get me out around 1:05. It would have been sooner but I was just talking to her about how in New York you would be in the DMV for at least 4 to 6 hours before I left 10 plus years ago. Thank you thank you thank you Debra for an easy none stress experience.

I came to assist someone as a translator for his appointment. The employee at desk 34 asked for his immigration documents (without being specific about what was needed), and he mistakenly thought he did not have them. We started to leave, but before exiting through the automatic doors, he realized he had his work permit and immediately returned to provide it. The employee stated that she had already closed the appointment and had the next customer waiting. I understood the schedule, but I politely asked if she could see him after the next customer since the appointment had taken less than a minute. Instead of showing understanding or attempting to find a solution, she refused in a dismissive manner. I then spoke with the manager, who stated they had 70 other customers waiting. I acknowledged that, but explained that this situation could have been resolved quickly if they were willing to assist. People who work directly with the public should have strong customer service skills, including patience, professionalism, and the willingness to help when possible. Unfortunately, both the employee at desk 34 and the manager made me feel that they lacked these qualities. As public employees, their salaries are paid by taxpayers, and citizens deserve to receive respectful and professional service in return. Someone who treats the public poorly does not represent the level of service that taxpayers deserve. I hope this interaction is reviewed and that appropriate feedback or corrective action is considered. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy.
