Fantastic bookstore! Everything is well organized, the store is spacious and accessible, and they don't mind if you hang out and browse. Even if you browse for an excessive amount of time. Really nice people work here and are more than willing to help answer questions or find a book for you. And the space is no different than when it was Better World Books minus the basement which is now off limits. It is a great place to bring the kids, with plenty of toys and games for them to play with while you peruse the stacks. I do have serious concern about the longevity of this place, though. Prices are a bit higher than they were when this was the aforementioned Better World Books location, and it went out of business. Regardless, we are more than happy to pay a few extra dollars to support a local business! Fables is a great addition to downtown Goshen, and I sincerely hope it lasts! read more

I was searching for a copy of a book that has not been in print for quite a while, and happened to see that a cheap copy was available through this bookstore (on amazon). Now, the last time I had ordered this book, was through Amazon and a completely different book came in (bear in mind I ordered it from a different bookstore). so I found this same book but decided to call the bookstore this time and ask if they had a copy available as advertised on Amazon. One of the employees, Veronica, did an excellent job at making sure that my needs were well taken care of, and even went so far as to find the physical book herself and describing its condition, rather than just confirming through an online database at the store. Overall, it was an easy, and quick process, of which I am appreciative of. Moreover, she did this while maintaining a pleasant attitude. read more

This is such a cute and cozy bookstore. You will want to stay all afternoon looking to find the perfect book for you or your children! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The children's section has a sitting area with small seating just their size! And they offer books that you can't find everywhere. The particular book I wanted wasn't even in stock and they ordered it without hesitation and said they would call me when it was in to pick up! They even have local authors! Stop in and visit. Nice book store. Open aisles. Clean. Seating all over. Good signage to help locate different genres. Kids' activities.

I could not ask for a better book store! I went in looking for a used copy of 1984 and found several copies in different prints, including my favorite version. I then spent a good chunk of time exploring the rest of their selections to my great delight! I will be back! read more
