The buildings were once barns and homestead housing of an old farm. They stand in a semi-circle which frames a makeshift courtyard hold art that relates to its original purpose. This configuration makes a natural connection between the shops, a traffic flow guiding visitors in the front of one shop and out the side where the next awaits. Out front was a horse and buggy. It was a large horse. I don't know whether this was part of the places decoration or an Amish visitor or employee. For the shopper that likes old-timey styles this place will be loved. Of most impressive are expensive but craftily handmade quilts sold in the last building. I am not into Amish country fashion, but the tour of these shops reveal its quality to me anyways. A nice place to visit.

I have no sewing experience at all so I was looking for a quilt that was already made. The quilt I was interested in only had a sample on display and was not for sale. The shop was only selling the kit. However, when I asked the owner if I could purchase the sample, she said YES!! I was ecstatic!!! I highly recommend checking out the Quilt shop and the Essenhaus shop connected to it. As an added bonus they accept credit cards here!

My husband spotted an "Old Guys Rule" (his favorite t-shirt sentiment) quilt hanging on display and located the kit. I had never purchased a quilt kit, but he talked me into it. Fast forward to August this year. Due to shelter-in-place orders, I completed enough of my UFOs to start a new project. My husband has been anxious for "Old Guys Rule" to put it in the RV. Unfortunately, when I started cutting for it, I discovered that I was short 2 fabrics. (just needed inches more). I contacted the shop and owner, Susie, responded the next day. They no longer had either fabric in stock, but she did an exhaustive search of the neighboring quilt shops and found one of the fabrics I need. As it turns out she was not able to locate fabric to match my background, so she replaced the whole background fabric for me! I highly recommend this shop, not only do they have beautiful fabric and quilts, but great customer service.

They do practice social distancing of encourage masks and offer hand sanitizer. Employed are nice and helpful and it is local owne which I love. Items are sort of laid out with planning but it's very random things and sort of pricey. They offer a little bit of everything from dishes to toys to Christmas etc. some things are missing packages but they achieve putting it all back together and make throngs look nice. The best part about this place e for me was the corner of fireworks. Great selection. With. Great prices and a lot of small to medium size options to do at gold.
