I have been very happy with the Brazilian Blowouts I have had in the past at Fabu. This time, however, Michele did my Brazilian Blowout and it did not look right from the moment she finished. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured I'd see how it looked after I washed and styled. I washed one time with a sulfate free shampoo, the same one I have used every other time I've had this treatment, and my hair still looked frizzy -- like I'd had no treatment at all. I called the salon, and they were immediately confrontational and blamed me because I did not buy the BB products (I did use the BB ionic bonding spray that I had at home), which I've never used in the past, and have previously had no issues. I caved and spent $50 on the shampoo and conditioner, which did not help at all. TL;DR: spent over $450 for a service that has worked great in the past, but did not work this time. Salon blamed me, offered nothing in return, and now I have to have frizzy hair for 8 weeks before i can get it fixed. At a different salon, obviously. read more

I recently found out about this salon and I couldn't be happier! It's so unassuming in a little strip shopping center but don't let that fool you. It's ran by some of the nicest people and I have a blast every time I go, it's like seeing old friends. Mckenzie is the stylist I go to and I will never use another person again. She is absolutely incredible and so skilled I couldn't ask for better. I have very short hair and she gave me the most beautiful, long extensions that blend seamlessly which is quite the impossible task. It's hard enough to find someone in the area that does hand tied weft extensions let alone someone who does them so perfect. She takes her time, she listens to what you want, and I am always left happier than I ever thought possible!! She even added in matching highlights that flow so perfectly with the extensions you can't even tell where my hair ends and they begin. Mckenzie is by far the most skilled stylist I have ever met and I would trust her implicitly with any hair style, hair cut, color, or extensions! read more

Highly, highly recommend McKenzie at Fabu for haircuts, highlights and lowlights...especially if you have naturally red hair. I absolutely love the dimension she created and the haircut. McKenzie not only cleaned up my hair, created a flattering shape, and took out weight without creating fly aways but she fixed another salon's highlights/lowlights after I let it grow out for a few months. McKenzie really knows what she is doing and does so very professionally. I felt she took care in processing the color and limited any dryness that occurs via highlights/lowlights. She does what you ask, is very attentive, and clarifies to make sure she understands exactly what you are trying to achieve. The whole experience was very pleasant. The appointments at Fabu tend to book out a few weeks to around 6 weeks but they have a waitlist for appointments that open up due to cancellations. I live in South Carolina and travel to Severna park to see family once every couple months. Lisa is always able to fit me in some how and when I tell you this woman is a color genius I mean it. She's given me more confidence with the absolute best red color of my life. I have more people stop me even months later to tell me how beautiful my color is. I've never been to a salon where the staff seem like family until I came to Fabu. As soon as you walk in the door, you're greeted by a friendly face. I highly recommend it. I will never come back here again. I called and made an appointment for an eyebrow and lip wax. I showed up on time, and the lady took me back. She asked me what kind of haircut I wanted. I never spoke about a haircut on the phone. I told her that my appointment was for an eyebrow and lip wax, and she looked a little puzzled but took me back. There, I should have seen a red flag. She applied the wax to my eyebrows and lip all wrong (I have been getting this done for 9+ years) and applied the waxing strip incorrectly as well. You are supposed to apply the wax in the direction of hair growth, and press the strip down that same way. She dabbed and pressed in random spots and then when she ripped she ripped the correct way, but not all the wax came off. Not the end of the world, but I had to come home and pluck my eyebrows for 20 minutes. For someone who was waxing, she did not pay very much attention to hair removal. She then told me I was finished, and I reminded her that I did have an appointment for brow AND lip. She once again applied the wax incorrectly, and this time, removed little to no hair from my lip. I have to make another appointment somewhere else. Clearly she was not trained in waxing and I am very disappointed. If i had not had a gift card, I would have not paid for this service. It was terrible and did not accomplish anything. I cannot speak of the hair service but due to the waxing, I will never come here again. read more

I previously had a horrible cut/color at a salon, so I when we moved to MD I was reluctant to try a new salon. Finally after more than a year of not doing a thing to my hair, I bit the bullet and tried Fabu'... No regrets. My appointment was with Joy, I explained my previous experience and she listened to what I wanted, offered suggested and did a fabulous job. The entire staff were very friendly, very busy but very laid back. It was very comfortable. I will be going back to Joy and bringing my Daughters as well! read more
