This is a long overdue review. I have been going to Cori for nearly six years now from my freshman year of high school, to my sophomore year of college in a few months. It's crazy to think about. She is amazing, not just at doing hair but also with creating a welcoming atmosphere and just being a friend. I have been in Coris chair, Jenn's chair, and more recently in Sophia's chair consistently now for the past 4 years- everyone I have been working with has always done amazing work and I always walk out feeling great. I have been getting my hair done by Megan at The Hair Station for well over a decade. I've followed her to three different salons and I am thrilled that she is now overseeing this salon. Megan always knows exactly what I want and offers great suggestions for times when I feel like trying something new. She is also honest with me if I want to do something that will not look right. I have also had services done by other staff and had my kids' hair cut at the salon. All of the staff does an excellent job. I came here after my previous stylist cut her hours back too far. It's close to the Guinness brewery, was easy to find. My stylist Lorelai seemed new, but she did a great job! Everyone here was so sweet and welcoming. I love the way my hair turned out. I have thick, 2c/3a curly red hair and they were able to make my roots red and cut my hair by two inches. I felt that my hair dresser took her time to make sure my hair turned out perfect. I really loved the end result. My two complaints would be that I wish they used more conditioner with my hair. I have a lot of difficulty finding a hair salon that knows how to style curly hair, but I think they did good enough with blow drying and styling it. The other big complaint and the reason I gave three stars and why I won't be coming back is because mask use is not enforced here. Wearing a mask is optional. I really wanted to turn back when I stepped inside this place and realized nobody was wearing a mask, but I felt awkward about canceling my appointment the day of and while I was standing right there. I really loved this place, but I am also pregnant and so close to having a newborn. I cannot risk getting Covid. I am vaccinated and wear my mask everywhere. I appreciate when businesses enforce mask use. It makes me feel safer. But it is the business' choice if they'd like to enforce a mask rule. Unfortunately, this is the reason I can't come back, but hopefully in a different world when Covid doesn't exist anymore, I would love to come back. read more

I'm glad I ended up trying The Hair Station. Everyone was super friendly and was taking COVID precautions seriously. The shop (which is a reclaimed house) is set up in a way that allows everyone to social distance easily with chairs being in separate rooms. All the employees just seemed happy to be there and to really enjoy what they do. Megan cut my hair and was great. She was super meticulous and put in a lot of effort to listening to what I did and didn't want. Great experience - will definitely be going back. read more

I came to know about this salon from Groupon. LOCATION- Very straight forward location, on US 1 South just off 895 South. DECOR- The decor is very simple but the salon is very clean and hygienic. I would suggest that you don't focus on the decor and instead appreciate their services. HAIRCUT- The stylist did overall layers with side bangs for me. This style has added volume and bounce to my thin and scanty hair. I love my new hair cut! SERVICE- My stylist was Cori. She is young, smart, friendly, energetic and very open to take suggestions. I took my photos for reference and Cori was very confident that she could do these styles for me. However, she also added her touch by recommending the variations like length of the hair, etc based on my hair type, texture and density. PRICE- I didn't buy the Groupon coupon, instead asked the salon if they could match the Groupon price. They gladly matched the price. Shampoo and haircut was $22 (Groupon price). I paid a little over 25% tips for the wonderful haircut and customer service by Cori. read more

Horrible customer service! I was so excited to schedule an appointment here and was bummed to have to cancel when my daughter woke up sick this morning with a fever. I called as soon as they opened to let them know my situation and was notified that I would be charged 25 percent of the service fee for cancelling within 24 hours. If this was something in my control- I get it. However there needs to be some grace for circumstances like this. I tried to be respectful of the stylist and her time by calling as soon as they opened to give as much notification as I could- I am beyond floored that the customer service here is so lacking and would advise everyone to beware before making an appointment here. read more

Not a fan of those chain salons & because they are way over priced for just an ok cut. They were busy, but still made time for me to go in. I found this place on Facebook and I am so glad I did! April is the best and made me feel so special.
