They do not know how to do color here. The ladies vary in skill and quality. They over book appointments and then are rude when they ask you to wait 30 minutes or more because they don't know how to schedule appointments. Have messed up color and hair multiple times and then are mad when you question it or ask them to fix it. It's definitely cheaper here than other places but there are better aveda locations. You get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommended tried to stick with this place because they to support local businesses. But there are better salons in Columbia and Baltimore. Customer service is also terrible except one lady. read more

I have had facials at numerous places. Some good some not so good. I was searching for a place to go monthly and I found this place because it's about 5 mins from where I work so I thought I would give it a try. I booked a facial with Rose and WOW. Without a doubt the absolutely best facial I've ever had. The room is so cozy and relaxing , Rose is so friendly and knowledgeable and she doesn't chat the whole appt which is a big plus for me since I want to relax. My skin has never looked better. Had an awful experience today! My stylist was booked up all day all week. I was told another stylist could cut my hair and I said well blank usually does my hair and she knows how I like it and the receptionist told me blank will speak to the other stylist and give her tips on how you like your hair and I said OK that's fine so I show up at my appointment on time I meet the other stylist. We had a great conversation. She's cutting my hair. I'm telling her exactly how I want to cut which is I like super choppy big hair is that what I got? No it is not. I got all one length not style just blow dried a simple blow dry and on my way I went. I thought when I got home I could see the layers that I had asked for however, that is not the case. This is the absolute worst haircut I've ever had in my life. I look like an old lady however, I am an old lady, but I do not identify as an old lady lol I called the salon back and told them I wasn't happy with this haircut and asked if I could come back in and I was told come back at 6:30 but the call disconnected I called back and was told all the stylists were busy the rest of the week and no one could help me end of story. So I go on vacation tomorrow with this gosh awful haircut!! Im looking into wigs! read more

After purchasing a coupon for a bikini wax, I was hesitant to try a new place because you never know what you may find but this salon is really nice. Meaghan is the best. She colored and cut my hair and couldn't have asked for better service. She gave me a head massage and it was amazing. She's super sweet and friendly. Not once was there that awkward silence. I'll definitely go back to see her. Update: I bought the recommended shampoo and conditioner for my hair after getting it colored and I kid you not it didn't even last a month. Overall I had a nice experience as I have in the past. I used this salon to have mine and my family's hair and makeup done for my wedding over 2 years ago. I went in Wednesday 7/29/2020 for a haircut (trim), gel manicure and a regular pedicure. It was a relaxing experience and I was glad to see all of the precautions that were in place to ensure everyone's safety. The two stars are really directed to my manicure. When I finished my hair cut. I was going to pick out nail colors and saw they offered dip so I changed from Gel to dip. I have been using dip polish for about 4 years now. Before we got started MJ mentioned she may do the process differently. I told her that I appreciate the heads up. I have had the process done differently when I go to different salons. It was really nice to have a heads up. That way during the process I didn't think to myself what is going on. I do feel that MJ did her best with what she had to work with. Her process was not much different then how my nails have been done before. I am very disappointed in the quality of the product and tools she had to use. Like I said I have been doing dip for 4 year. I have had my nails done by many techs at quite a few different salons. I believe the gel base coat that was used is bad. I have never experienced just a goopy mess when getting my nails done. Which in turn really ruined the manicure. Again I do feel that MJ was doing the best she could. I did feel that she wasn't very experienced with the process. My nails are super bumpy and have missing chunks. We talked throughout the process. I told her different areas as well as she noticed some things that needed to be touched up. She did..what she could. Part of the problem was she was not using a new buffer. Which made it difficult to get the dip as smooth as it should be. I was expecting to pay more for a mani pedi at a salon. However; I also expected quality product. I was not happy with my nails leaving, but it is such a long process and based off of the product that was already used. I did not feel they would have been able to be done properly. I was really excited to have a couple hours of pampering and having everything done in one place. I'm not sure if Angie or MJ is in charge of the product stock for nails. As a costumer choosing to pay more for services based off convince. This was not worth it for the manicure. I think I was even more bummed that it didn't turn out because MJ and everyone in the salon are great! I've always had a nice experience. Again I feel like this was more of a lack of fresh product and tools. read more

I recently bought one of the yelp deals for this salon. I paid $25 for $50 worth of services (shampoo, condition, cut and blow dry). Though I would like for the hours to be open later, the staff is very accommodating. I called early in the morning and was able to book an appointment for the same day. As the deal states, you must book with either Nicole or Meaghan. I booked with Meaghan. She was very nice and attentive. Her head massages that she gives while shampooing your hair almost put me to sleep! It was so relaxing. She listened to all my concerns. I have had a history of hair loss that have caused me to be very skeptical of certain hairstyles...even now, my hair is still kind of thin. She gave me advice.on how to style my hair and also recommended me some products. FAST FORWARD: Two weeks after my initial appointment with Meaghan, I booked another appointment with her to get my hair styled in an updo. My boyfriend had surprised me with tickets to the US NAVY Day Ball and so I wanted to look my absolute best! I showed Meaghan a picture of my dress and accessories and she was able to whip up an absolutely stunning hairstyle. It was elegant and complimented my dress very well. She also made sure to load me up on hairspray since my appointment was at 12pm and the ball started at 7pm. I would highly recommend coming here. I will be coming back for sure! read more

I originally came to this salon back in November after Alexander's of Annapolis ruined my hair back in November. Let's just say I now go there every 6-8 weeks to get my hair re-highlighted and cut by Crystal. A couple things for people whom have never been here: 1) Meaghan gives EXCELLENT head/neck massages while she is shampooing your hair. SOO relaxing! 2) They go over and above to make sure you are comfortable. From doing simple things like taking your coat when you arrive to offering you something to drink (from water and tea to wine if that is what you'd like) they treat you like family from the moment you walk through the door. She did my hair for my rehearsal dinner and I have to say I looked HOT. 3) It *IS* an Aveda salon, so with higher quality products that do not harm your body comes slightly higher prices. I am the QUEEN of couponing (Groupon, Living Social, etc) but I come here and pay full price. It's WORTH IT to walk out of the salon feeling fantastic! 4) If you go home and decide you don't like something, they WILL fix it and they will fix it FOR FREE. I got my hair highlighted before my wedding but then decided I did not like the way the front came out (nothing Crystal did wrong- I was just being super ubber picky because after all IT IS MY WEDDING). Crystal came in two hours early to fix it the way I wanted it and then did not charge me- sounds like proper management to me! 5) The owner Angie is also a stylist. I like that about her- she's not stuck in a backroom everyday and therefore she knows her customers. It also shows that she has a healthy enough business that she does not feel the need to be stuck in the back all day fixing the books or fending off creditors. 6) It is CLEAN and does not smell of hair products, even when multiple women are getting highlights done. The moral of the story is this- they will take care of you. They are excellent, down to Earth people and this is the first salon in my history as an adult female that I can say I am a regular customer at. read more

This salon is my little hidden gem in Pasadena. They are convenient (allowing me to schedule same day appt's), have great hours and the staff is amazing. The fact that they sell Aveda products is an added bonus. Crystal has performed services such as hair color, haircut, flat iron and Brazilian Blowout for myself and my daughter (she is THE BEST with kids). June has performed man/pedi, tourmaline facial and eyebrow shaping and pays a lot of attention to detail with her clients. I used a groupon to receive a bikini wax with Gina and it was definitely the best place I have been in Baltimore for a bikini wax. This experience was great for a number of different reasons: 1.) The wax used was a quality product (it was almost painless), 2.) I was supplied with lotion after to soothe the area and remove the rest of the wax (unlike some other places), 3.) Gina was very friendly and professional, 4.) the atmosphere was very relaxing. The only downside is their hours are not great. I wish they were open longer on Saturday and had hours on Sunday & Monday. Definitely a great place for a bikini wax. I will definitely go again if I can find a time that works for me! read more

I was so impressed with hair stylist Meaghan at Vanity Salon. She is a natural in the hair stylist business. After trying many different popular expensive hair specialists in Maryland and spending loads of money, I was still unimpressed with my hair cut, color and highlights. I was heading off to Europe and thought I would try someone close to me in Pasadena. Vanity Salon had a Groupon so I tried it. Meaghan was my hair stylist. She was better than anyone I had ever gone to. Everyone in Europe commented about my cut and highlights. She knew just what I needed and made my visit to this salon easy and pleasant. The highlights were natural and just the right touch for me. Her head massages were also wonderful. I can't stress enough how wonderful this stylist is. I will go to Meaghan every time I need a haircut, color and highlights. The cost of the visit with Meaghan was less than anything I had paid at the other top stylists in Maryland. The very helpful girl at the front desk gave me an appointment with Meaghan....I was not disappointed! My whole experience, from the time I walked in, until the time I left, was a positive one. Everyone is so nice and the salon is very clean. I had read about the scalp massage Meghan is known for, but you truly don't know what you're missing until you have gotten one for yourself...it was amazing! We consulted on what haircut I was getting and she really listened while adding suggestions on what would be best for my type of hair. I highly recommend Vanity Salon for your hair needs. I found this salon after recently moving to Maryland and have been extremely pleased with the salon. The first time I visited the salon was to get a trim. Angie gave me a great cut and I was very happy with it. Several weeks later I decided to go in for a drastic color change since I haven't colored my hair in over 3 years. Really enjoyed this salon, but after several visits, the prices just kept going higher, higher, higher...with no advance notice. Imagine my surprise when I went to pay... I complained to the owner after my last visit, who told me that Aveda was "raising the prices on us..." Also know of two other ladies who had the same thing done to them. Moved to Arnold not too long ago and have been searching for the perfect salon. The Vanity Salon fits the bill! It is definitely worth the 15 to 20 minute drive to go and see them. The prices are great (I paid over $100 for my last stylist eeeek!), the staff and atmosphere is friendly and laid back. I was also able to get an appointment the day I called. Michelle cut my hair and she did an amazing job helping me to figure out what would work best for me. I always have a great experience here. I just recently went to Meagan for a haircut after trying another place in the area and being devastated with the outcome. She cleaned it up and I'm loving the result. I love Aveda products, which originally drew me to this Salon, and I don't have a good reason to 'try' another place again. For the most part the waxing has been solid, I prefer my eyebrows thick and natural looking and this last one was a bit too thin for me, but no worries, it'll grow back. I went to this salon today and it was my first time. The salon is so relaxing and pretty. I received a facial by Bri who was awesome! I would recommend her to anyone. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the products she was using on my face and explained everything. She made the experience very relaxing and enjoyable. I also had my eyebrows waxed by Bri and she did a great job on that as well. I got a pedicure by a gentleman in there and he was great. He engaged in conversation and it was nice to see others have great customer service because it seems pretty rare these days. The only thing I wish I would have done different was to get a total amount of what the services would cost. I was surprised at how much salon services costs because I rarely have that kind of treatment. But either way I highly recommend the services at people at this salon. read more

It's been a long time, literally years, since I have felt comfortable getting a regular hair cut. I've had so many bad hair cuts, and having moved to this area just a few years ago, I had never found the right person to return to. I had my hair cut by the same person for over 10 years before moving to Maryland. And then for 7 more years it was meh hair cut after meh hair cut. Now I have Crystal, and am so grateful for her! I look forward to getting my hair cut now, and this place is so nice. Friendly staff, it's always very clean, they have comfortable seating, offer you beverages and no long waits. I can even bring my 7 year old and have never felt like she's in the way or being a bother to anyone. They involve her in conversation, ask her if she would like a drink, and she enjoys coming along if I have to bring her with me. Crystal even cuts her hair now, too! I had a conditioning treatment, blow dry, cut and style with Jamie. She is super sweet and talented. The cut was a big transformation as I took off 12 inches to donate but my hair looked awesome when she was done with it. My only complaint is that my hair does look a bit choppy now that it's not styled the way she did it in the salon. Still, I am very happy with the haircut, as well as the overall service, the relaxing salon, and being around so many friendly people! I made an appointment on a whim, and it actually turned out to be a great place. It's unassuming, since it's in a small strip mall, but the folks inside are great.
