I typically don't pay attention to the employees when I'm there, but then I realized they were following me around like a hawk. I only touched stuff if it's something I'm potentially interested in. No big bag I had a small fanny pack. What made it worse was that then I watched other people walking around with their baskets being able to freely shop. Maybe because I keep my headphones on and just look for what I'm looking for, but they felt a certain way. I don't go in corners of the stores or anything. I just go there to shop. Like I said, I have been going here for most of my adult life. I felt super uncomfortable and yucky after that. I will not be returning. My mom has cancer and lost most of her hair from chemo, but was about to go into a major surgery the very next day so we wanted to go and look at options. To begin, I felt like their options were very limited. Most all of their wigs need to be ordered to even see in person it seems, even in common colors. My mom found a wig she thought was ok but it wasn't in the color she wanted. From there, I feel she was pressured to make a decision. To even see the wig in person you need to place an order. She went ahead and placed the order with the daughter/front desk girl and paid for it upfront. They said the option was to pay for 1/2 upfront or in full. Little did we know my mom would be in the hospital for the next month after this due to surgery complications. The mother & daughter that run this wig shop were very hard to get in touch with when I asked if we could get a refund because my mom was still in the hospital, from there it escalated to straight up rudeness and bad business. Nowhere online or in-store does it say these policies. We were forced to pay a 25% restocking fee on a $3000 wig we never even laid eyes on. There are plenty of other wig shops online and around that do not have such terrible policies. Especially a place that claims to be there for cancer patients. I personally feel that the business takes advantage of people and would never go back there.

So, why did I come here? I mean, western wear is not MY thing. I came because at the end of this month, my department is dressing up for Go Texan Day and nothing in my closet screams western. I was on my way to another boot store to check out their western ring selection and decided to detour to Joann Fabrics to find a turquoise pendant. Surprisingly, Boot Barn was conveniently located next door. I love convenience! I've never been in a boot store; ever! So, upon walking in, I was in awe! Wall to wall boots. Shelf after shelf after shelf. Well over 300 pair!The aisles were spacious enough to maneuver through the sea of boots and everything was so well organized. I found myself in the middle of the store like a big kid when the store clerk, Jerroll, came over with big smiles to ask if I needed help finding anything. He was dressed like a true cowboy; leather jacket, blue jeans, cowboy hat and boots. Yaasss!! I told him I was looking for the jewelry section and he walked me right over. They have a nice and reasonably priced selection of earrings, bracelets, rings, etc. I had no problem finding my rings here. Another store representative, Kim, walked by to see if I had any questions or needed help finding anything. Both store personnel that I came in contact with, showed me that they were willing to help. I don't THINK I have any plans to go back because again, I'm just playing my part for the 1 day at the job. However, for anyone whose lifestyle leans more in the western direction, Boot Barn would be a great place to go. They have a loyalty program and for a limited time, you can get half priced carnival packs. Yeehah!!
