I was at JC collections today and I have been going here for years. They have two locations. I typically will stroll up and down the aisles, looking for whatever pieces call my name. Today, one of the employees made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I had my headphones on, and I was walking up and down the isles, looking for earrings for a trip coming up, and the employee came up and took my baskets stating I was not able to carry my basket around , I was a little confused since I had been there years with no issues. I typically don't pay attention to the employees when I'm there, but then I realized they were following me around like a hawk. Which I get it to an extent, but I wasn't doing anything suspicious I typically walk in the center of the isles and just look at everything. I only touched stuff if it's something I'm potentially interested in. No big bag I had a small fanny pack. What made it worse was that then I watched other people walking around with their baskets being able to freely shop. Maybe because I keep my headphones on and just look for what I'm looking for, but they felt a certain way. I don't go in corners of the stores or anything. I just go there to shop. Like I said, I have been going here for most of my adult life. I felt super uncomfortable and yucky after that. I will not be returning. Harwin Central Mart - Accessories Near Me - Houston, Texas

Instead of hanging out with the kids I decided to hang out with the ladies and do a little shopping. Most of the items here are targeted for women along with kids and they do have a great selection of stores with variety in the back. Two levels of shopping but a lot of the main stuff is on the first floor and for guys, you can actually find some cool things especially when you go to the custom T-shirts or if you're looking for stuff that ranges from watches, perfume, sunglasses, or any of the other knick-knacks. If it's clothing for men it's probably going to be custom embroidered shirts or the ones with the dazzle but one thing for sure, you will get your big jewelry on here if you want, but an elegant way. Whether you're looking for sorority-fraternity, girlfriend theme shirts or a party shirt with a statement, this could be your place as I managed to get a few custom print shirts for just under $20. I picked out my design and the color of shirt and the location of where I wanted it and I am definitely happy with the quality of everything. A lot of the stuff on the 2nd floor was closed when we came and after about 30-40 minutes it all looked the same. Would like the see the stores shake it up a bit and be different but I get it and knew what to expect. read more

I was insulted at the door by the some beauty dealer, she talked about my face, I didn't like that very much. If I had low self-esteem, I would have taken her comments and left, but thankfully those days are over for me. I ignored her rude comments and proceeded towards JC Collections, I didn't know where to go at first. Usually when I visit a jewelry shop, I have other female friends with me, but this time I came alone. No biggie, I found a nice cool shop that prices were fair. There were big shiny things all over my eyes: necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, every type of jewelry you can think of they had it. All bright and shining like the sun. I didn't like that they didn't have a lot of tiny earrings like studs. I wish the prices didn't have .99 at the end of all of them, that was annoying. However, the earrings and necklaces I did purchase were super cute. read more

This is a one stop shop for a mini-version of all Harwin has to offer. My favorite store on Harwin, Accessory Plaza, even has a small small shop located in this mall. (located on the far left side) Another favorite here is the best scarf/pashmina shop I've yet to find here on Harwin. Most pashminas are buy 4 get 1 free which comes out to $5 a piece! They have a great selection of solid colors, prints, and different decorative scarves. This store is located on the far right side about half way down the row. This mall has many other shops from terribly cheap clothing, some great jewelry (and some not so great), jewelry making supplies, beauty supplies, luggage, and much more. It's definitely worth stopping by! read more

This shopping center has a jewelry material shop, multiple clothing and accessories shops, and my favorite, the jewelry store with all the bright lights. They apparently also have jewelry store upstairs where they sell real jewelry pieces. As soon as you walk into the mall, you'll be greeted by one, if not more, sales person giving you a flyer and telling you to go upstairs to that particular jewelry shop... of course they always happen to be having sales for the past year. I never go because that's not the reason why I check this particular mall. Most stores give tax except with a certain minimum that varies by store. Definitely good to browse and see what you like. read more

New unchartered area for me and this was the first stop.. While Parking lot was packed on a Saturday, everyone panned out within.. Yeah! This is 1 big warehouse with individual Stores/Stalls within where each carry a plethora of Whateva - Costume jewelry galore, watches, wigs, sunglasses, readers, purses, gowns (Quinceañera, Prom, Gala), scarves, hats, shoes, make-up... Etc I'm a sucker for unique and cool treasures ..(especially in the jewelry dept!) and enjoyed myself perusing for treasures. I give the place props for easing the Guilt of shoppers by littering the halls with park benches for those less excited, to have a place to hang out on ;-) I enjoyed the adventure, checking out the area and SCORING a few finds ;-) And if I was in the area again - I'm sure I'd mosey on in for a lookey-loo ... Ps - as long as you go in and enjoy your score for what it is.. An inexpensive, Cool and unique item that may not have the longest life... Then you're golden and will enjoy :-) read more

When it comes to accessories I give this place 4/5 stars, as to overall experience and stores I give it 3/5. Almost everything here is reasonably priced, you just have to look at the right store. There are some stores here that charge $5 for a really simple bracelet that should only be $2 max in my opinion. As far as clothing goes, a lot of the things that I saw were saris and Chinese designed blouses/dresses - beautiful but not my style. The only reason I would go back to this place would be for accessories or for ribbons. Yes, hair ribbons. I don't remember the name of the store but I believe it was new and they sell some of the coolest ribbons I've ever seen. In short, if you're in need of accessories and on a budget this is the place you want to go to first! Otherwise just go to a regular mall for clothing. read more

Harwin Central Mart - Beef and cheese quesadilla. - Accessories Near Me - Houston, Texas

I've been frequenting Harwin Central Mart since the very first day it opened. My pashmina scarf collection is out of control because of this shopping center, and I've found many gifts here over the years. Bring cash though, unless you plan on spending lots of money, because most stores require at least a $10 minimum purchase before they'll let you use your credit card. Most of the stores inside the shopping center don't have signs, so unfortunately it's difficult to tell you at which ones to shop. Really, if you have time you should stop by all the stores inside at least once to get a feel for what they're selling. Most of them are small enough that you can just poke your head in for a few seconds and then decide whether to browse further if something catches your eye. Yeah, there is some overlap with some of the inventory, but there's also plenty of new stuff to see at each store. In my opinion, scarves and jewelry are the best options here, though you can occasionally find some nice purses for around $30-40. If you are looking for "good" knock off bags you will be hard pressed to find them here since the police have really cracked down on counterfeits in recent years. However, if you ask nicely and appear to be trustworthy, the purse shop owners will occasionally tell you where you can go off-site to a guy they know who has "guccipradalouisfendi." Other times they will just try to sell you their blatant "MD" bag (versus a real MK, or whatever). Anyway, onto the scarves! The scarves come in solids and patterns (florals, paisley, leopard!, abstract, etc.) and are made of some blend of pashmina wool (made from a goat!) and silk. The majority of the scarves are 70% pashmina and 30% silk and are sold at most of the stores for either $3.99 or $4.99 each, although you can typically also find 100% pashmina scarves for $5.99. The more pashmina, the softer the scarf. There are some very unique and beautiful scarves here, and I can't stress that enough. Most stores have a deal where if you purchase 5 scarves, your 6th is free. This may sound like a lot, but when you see how many hundreds of options there are, it can be veeery difficult to narrow your selection down to just a handful. Just this weekend I picked up 10 for myself and 8 (5x3 + 3 freebies) to hoard as last minute gifts for female friends/family during the holiday season. I probably have over 100 scarves now - yikes!. They are sold packaged in plastic and laid very flat, so they store and stack easily. When it's time to hand 'em out as gifts, just remove the plastic packaging and fold one up into a pretty box, and nobody will know how inexpensive their beautiful gift really was. As for jewelry, you can find Sterling silver and 18K gold in a couple of the shops here, but you will pay normal retail prices, so skip the fancy stuff. You want costume jewelry here. The stores do a good job of carrying trendy jewelry, as well as more timeless pieces, with average prices running from $5-20 depending on the weight and detail of the item. The quality is similar to what is sold at Charming Charlie, if not better on many things, but is generally at least half the price. During last year's JCrew jewelry frenzy, I found plenty of $5 knock-offs that look just like the $100 real thing. There are some really good looking Kendra Scott-inspired pieces now, too, for under $10 (as compared with KS's $60+ price tag). The trick is to pair these pieces with your cute date outfits, fancy work & cocktail party clothes, and mix these cheapo pieces in with your real stuff, so no one will second guess your bling. You can find just about anything you're looking for here. If you have a special occasion dress and need the perfect, unique, piece of statement jewelry to match and can't afford to spend a pretty penny, I can almost guarantee you will find what you're looking for here. It just takes a bit of patience. In fact, I bought my wedding "pearl" jewelry here - earrings and a bracelet - for about $20, and, believe me, they actually look more authentic than some of my real pearls do! Finally, some of the stores in the Central Mart also sell some (junky) clothes and wigs -skip these unless you are looking for costumes - as well as quality luggage and real designer perfume at a fraction of the cost. If you are planning a ladies-day-out, definitely bring your girlfriends, mom, grandmas, and daughters here. There is something for every age group. If you're up for a solo outing, there is NOTHING sketchy about coming here alone. I have probably come here alone more often than with family/friends, and I always feel completely safe. All the shop owners are very friendly and helpful, and Harwin Central Mart is a really nice place to shop in an otherwise ugly retail neighborhood. Love this place! Don't wanna visit several different locations on Harwin for all of your wholesale needs? This is a one-stop shop for any kinds of jewelry, scarves, suitcases, sunglasses, belts or whatever you're looking for in a jiffy! I'm not really picky about my sunglasses (I lose or break them), so I don't really wanna spend a fortune on them. There's a shop I go to which is the first storefront slightly to the left that sell perfumes and suitcases that also has 2 aisles for designer knock-off sunglasses. They have a promotion of buy-2-get-one-free (for $20), which I've taken advantage of twice. I'm so happy to have a pair in my purse, two in my car and two more in the Hubb's car, so I'm never without! And they have cute designs and colors for any mood I'm in. If you're into the real stuff, they do have name brand glasses at the register counter, locked up. read more

Wholesale prices = more bang for your buck :D Sure, the product quality isn't necessarily suitable for like...Kim Kardashian or anything, but overall their selection is trendy and you can find a bunch of stuff that doesn't "look" cheap (sneaky sneaky). For example - I have some faux Coco Chanel stud earrings I got from one of the stores andddd no one has doubted their authenticity (woo hoo! ;) I like to get my clutches from here too as well as belts, sunglasses, etc. All of the Harwin St. shops have affordable, wholesale stuff, but some shops are sketch and it's hard to tell the ghetto-fab difference sometimes. Central Mart is great because it's a really nice, security guarded shopping center with a good amount of parking (nice bathrooms too). Think along the lines of a "Charming Charlie's" or "Sam Moon" paradise. read more

I loved the shops here and got some amazing deals on accessories. There is a hair bow shop with tons of great bows for little ones. I especially loved the holiday bows; snowmen and turkeys made out of ribbon. My nieces are going to love them. My favorite was a bag shop that does monogramming for a great price. I got my daughters backpack for this year with her name monogrammed on it. So unique and adorable. Only one complaint: my very patient hubby was with me and there is nothing for guys here. Witnessed an elderly woman walk from the back of parking lot cold and struggling because some lazy person decided to park in handicap parking. Worth going to Suzi's alone for the wigs! Though they have tons of gorgeous drag queen jewelry in some of the other shops I've been buying lately. They have another wig place upstairs where the employees meanmug you when you walk through the door, glare at you like you're going to steal, and refuse to let you try anything on, but I just pretend that place doesn't exist. Suzi's also has some great accessories like fans, clutches, lashes, fishnets, contacts, rings, etc. especially if you don't want the flashier jewelry from some of the other places. Harwin, a street dedicated to nothing but fashion and jewelry for a low price. I sure do wish they had this in San Antonio but I guess I'll just have to stick to good old Sam Moon, Versona, and Charming Charlie. I recently came here before leaving Texas for a girls trip to New Orleans and our group wanted to make girls trip shirts. This mall is two stories full of fashion, jewelry, and even a monogram place! A friend of our told us about this t-shirt shop that can make anything and decided to take a look. I was surprised at how big it was full of many different designs they had. I came up with the design and added the words "Yeaux Leaux" (YOLO) on it for this trip. I told the lady what and how I wanted it and she told me to pick a shirt from the side. I'm usually a medium but since these shirts were cheaply made I had to get a shirt two sizes up. They also had a fitting room to try on the shirts that fit best which was a plus. Only bummer was that it took an hour to get six shirts done, reason for that is because there was one person working the entire store. Custom shirt came out to $20 which I thought was a bit pricey but it was for our trip. I really liked the stores and what they carried and it wasn't even crowded for a Monday morning! I definitely have to come back next time I'm in town. Really awesome place to check out. read more
