I text to make an appointment and she immediately responded requesting a $25 deposit which I sent instantly. I text her all day on the day of my appointment with no response, but I assumed she was busy so I just drove to her salon and text when I arrived as my email confirmation said to do. No response. I waited 30 minutes. Still no response. I knocked on the door. No answer. I requested a refund through Cash App for my deposit since she was a a no-show and still haven't received my money yet. She sent a nasty text back only when I informed her that I was reporting her fraudulent business but has yet to refund my deposit. She also blocked me on Instagram and deleted my comments asking for my deposit back. Things like this are what give black owned business and small business a bad name. The sad part is a local celebrity referred me to her but said she had terrible customer service so to be careful. I should have listened.

After calling multiple places and speaking to a lot of people, I decided on Shear Salon. The salon is a bit hidden, but that is kind of nice. The place is huge and airy with very tall ceiling. It looks like a warehouse which is cool. They have wine and beverages as well as cookies when you walk in. The two girls behind the desk were very kind. The person doing my hair was Chiquita (probably spelled wrong). She was very outgoing and not snobby at all. She listened to what I wanted and walked me through all of the steps she was taking. It took over 3 hours to complete my hair and she was great through all of it. I got a ton of compliments on my hair. So, if I had to change 1 thing or suggest 1 thing it would be that they get reclining chairs for the shampoo area. The sinks are great because they move and rest on your shoulders. However, I have metal in my spine and my body just does not relax when sitting in the odd position. I highly recommend this salon and recommend Chiquita too!
