I have been going to Holly for awhile now. The LED light therapy does help acne (I wasn't sure at first). I had the 60 minute facial and 30 minutes LED light therapy yesterday ($90 without tip). My skin looks less irritated than it did previously. She said to get a treatment every 4-6 weeks to see results. She said i was controlling my oily skin too much, which was enlightening. Holly is quite literally the best esthetician! Seriously, if there was an award for Best Esthetician, I would nominate her without a second thought! Anyways, I first started seeing her about 2 years ago and I hated my acne. I was 27 and I struggled with constant breakouts on my nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin, and I would get painful cystic acne along my jawline around my time of the month (good times -.-) that itched and sometimes felt like I'd been punched in the jaw. I had tried different products in the past, including crazes like Proactiv and prescription products from a GP and even a dermatologist. At best, I'd get semi-clear (meaning less but still very visible acne) skin for about a week each month before hormones did their thing and messed up my skin. At worse, my face look and felt like I had rubbed it against a tar street at 2pm in the middle of summer. I finally had given up on trying anything and just maintained what I already had with baby shampoo (of all things), while anticipating additional painful breakouts during my period. So when I finally saw Holly, I wasn't expecting much. My friends and I had wanted to see what it would be like to get a facial and we also decided to get a pedicure to top it all off as a "spa day". I was nervous, which Holly understood given my history, and she patiently listened to me rant about my "horrible skin" and all the products I've tried. She then assured me my skin is not horrible and we would work together to find what my skin needed to look and feel it's best. She started me off on a mild skincare routine with Skin Script to get my skin used to the new product and slowly bumped me up to a more robust routine. Once it seems like the product we were currently using wasn't going to do the trick for all the acne, she switched me over to Face Reality. Now, with a set schedule for when and how I wash my face, some minor life style changes (e.g. changing my pillow case each night), and regular visits to Holly, my acne is nearly non-existent. I can't even recall the last time I had a cystic acne issue, and the only times I have significant breakouts now is when I break my routine for several days or when I travel (apparently my skin hates changing climates). Even then, the breakouts are nowhere near as bad as they were in the past. I really can't thank Holly enough for all her support, guidance, and help! I was 27 and felt like a teenager with my huge patches of acned skin and scabs from scratching and picking. Holly made it easy to go from that to acne free skin. Without her, I really don't know what my skin would be like now, nor do I want to know. I am incredibly lucky to have found her, and my skin is just as grateful! read more
