My husband teases me because my eyes lit up on our first call with Michelle the second she whipped out her color coded spreadsheet and started to explain her process. Boy did they not disappoint. I told so many people that I wished that Heather, our Executive Planner, planned more things in my life. Monthly calls with her for the two years leading up to the wedding were the highlight of the month. She could not have been more responsive or done a better job of keeping us on track. It was particularly reassuring to know that we were in good hands given that we were planning this wedding from afar. It was so helpful to have her team recommend pre-vetted vendors so all we needed to do was review their websites and have a quick chat (and of course we loved all their recommendations). Michelle was the one with the artistic vision who did all the gorgeous design work. Let me tell you, this wasn't just a few "vision board" photos. This was a 60+ page design document complete with suggestions for invitations to floral to drinks that matched! Then she and the team brought it to life. The wedding itself was an absolutely dream, above and beyond what we'd hoped, but that also wasn't a surprise because we'd known all along that we were in the best hands. Everyone commented on how relaxed I was on the day of the wedding, but that was because I trusted Heather and the team with 100% confidence and they did not disappoint. My mother-in-law now wants to be Heather's assistant! Boy are we going to miss working with this team.

I had to stop what I was doing and approach him to restate what music I wanted, at which point he told me he didn't even have the music for the father daughter waltz! Then I asked for the microphone and it wasn't working. When he finally got it working, there was horrible feedback that deafened everyone, then he motioned that I needed to move to the middle of the room, which got me flustered and ruined my speech. He also kept playing 5-10 seconds of a song, then he'd stop and start a new one. I sent him multiple songs I wanted played throughout the evening, and he didn't have them. He played Baby Shark at my 15 year-old daughter's Quinceañera! Then he started playing random songs we didn't want, so we had to keep requesting specific ones. And the music was really loud. Also, the mike wouldn't work all night long. I don't think he actually read any of my emails. I was REALLY disappointed. I wish more than anything that I had splurged more on the DJ. Everything else was beautiful, and although TJ is a genuinely nice person, he's not a competent DJ. He stayed 15 minutes later doing karaoke with my daughter and her friends. I told him he was off the clock, and he said he was staying "as a friend," which I thought was very kind. I later discovered that my mom slipped him some extra money for staying later, but all she got for it was 15 minutes. I told him when we first hired him that we needed karaoke. He said no problem. His screen with words didn't work, so people had to find lyrics on their phones, and then the microphone didn't work for most of it. In my person opinion, he just ruined the evening. It's a night I can't get back.

While we waited, we were made to feel like a bother as many employees stood around the back, looking at us, rolling their eyes and sighing as if we walked in right before close. They had others who asked to sit outside and were told they weren't doing patio seating anymore. By the time we were seated, almost 20 minutes had gone by. I politely apologized to the girl who seated us about how large our party was, and mentioned how upset all the employees seemed by our large party. She didn't know what to say other than, "We had a water spill on the other side." Anyway, she walked to the back, told her co-workers, and I could see them looking at our table once again with irritation. Caleb, our waiter, was very nice, but it wasn't enough to offset the rudeness of the other employees. We all ordered an ice cream and 3 baskets of fries. By the time I got home, I was extremely sick. I was the only one who got sick, and I was the only one who addressed the rude behavior. Coincidence? Maybe. Next time, we will take our business where it's wanted.
