The burger was more take it or leave it and the brie and berry pizza was... a bit too weird for me. The churros were hard and not great, and the cannoli was fine. Very cute addition to Malden Square. I moved to the south a few years ago and still can't believe how much Malden square is growing. My friend and I met up for drinks, and I can't believe this is the old bank. Such a great use of space with a unique atmosphere. We didn't order food, but several people got food and sat at the bar, and it looked good! The wine selection isn't the largest, which, duh, it's not a wine bar lol, but I was happy with what they had. There are also a few mocktail options, very cool. The food is what didn't really impress me. The ramen tots was good, but didn't have a distinct enough flavor in my opinion. I wish there were more vegetarian options for pizza since we had some dietary restrictions in our group. We had a friend that got tacos which was the biggest confusion. They had too much sauce which really dwindle the integrity of the taco's tortillas and it became quite soggy. A group of us came on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly not crowded. We ordered a few beers and got the truffle + goat pizza. Food is a bit on the pricey side. I tried 3-4 beers and the beer is decent, nothing to rave about honestly. We all enjoyed the truffle + goat pizza (8 slices). It had a nice bottom crust, and the flavors went well together. Service was good as our waitress checked in on us often. The space looks quite nice, like an elevated sports bar. They have several TVs at the bar, booths with chandeliers above them, regular seating tables and high tops. Bathrooms are clean. My husband works in the area and has been absolutely raving about how amazing Faces is. I finally got to see it for myself, and wow was he right. This spot in Malden has a Cali-chic vibe to it with amazing beers and zero pretentious vibes. While I love a good brewery, it is rare that I actually enjoy all of their beers. 5 star atmosphere, 4 star beer and food. Stopped by on a Friday night and had no trouble getting a table for two. It definitely filled up throughout our meal, but it's not nearly as packed as most other Boston breweries. First of all, I can't say enough good things about the space itself. It's a huge open room with a big bar in the middle, and the decor is so cute. Think typical funky brewery vibes meets trendy touches like huge chandeliers, plant walls, pink flamingo wall paper in the bathroom, etc. Now for the important stuff: the beer. Our absolute favorite was the Progression. It's not super hazy, but has everything else you love and expect from a NE IPA. We moved on to some 5 oz pours next and tried quite a few things. I thought the Ultrawave and Jacuzzi Lovechild were good as well, though my fiancé was not a fan of the Ultrawave, he said it tasted like it had rum mixed in. The Lychee Strawmonster sour however, was absolutely undrinkable. It's soooo sweet that all you get is a syrupy sugar taste. I'm not one to leave craft beer behind, but we had to hand it back to the server after sampling it. Overall the beer menu seems a bit hit or miss compared to other local spots, but it all depends on your preference. Food-wise, we tried the fried pickles, mesquite dry rub bbq wings, and Chorizo + Pineapple pizza (loved the creative pizza options!) Im so happy to have Faces Brewing in the area! I stopped in for sunday brunch with a friend today and loved it. The aesthetic inside is lovely and the couch seating, greenery and lighting makes it feel like youre in a cozy living room. We sat at the bar and had 100/10 service from Monica!! The coffee was really good and so was the wildberry sour! We shared the Lox toast to start and it was so good. The bread was perfectly crisp but soft and the pickled red onion was a perfect edition. First time checking out Faces in Malden and the brunch did not disappoint! The set up and decor is gorgeous inside and it's super spacious. Fantastic spot to meet up with friends, watch games, and just hang out! Came here with a few friends on a Friday evening and the place was lively but not too busy. We had no trouble grabbing a table for 8+ people and the staff was more than accommodating for when our numbers fluctuated between 4 and 8, allowing us to switch tables as we pleased. We were given more than enough attention with our waiter returning to ask if we needed anything else quite often. Their pear sangria was delicious and had a great portion size as well. The pickles were tasty as well! I would just say their food in general was a little pricy - I'd probably eat elsewhere and get drinks here after. The beer hall was big and lively on a Saturday night. The beer menus was a little smaller than I was expecting and the beer itself was fine. The real standout was the food, although the tacos were a little smaller than I had hoped they were delicious. I got the buffalo chicken tacos and they were made perfectly, nice crisp, perfect amount of sauce, and a fresh tortilla, but it was not enough and a little expensive for the amount of food. We did look up the story on our car ride and our whole family was captivated by it. We get there and my eyes were immediately drawn to the right side of the room with the wall of hanging potted flowers. Very junglesque. I immediately fell in love with the table that was an old vault door- pretty nifty! The hostess alerted us they do not have high chairs so I asked for a table near the window that had the best chairs for my toddler to sit in. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon. They were hosting a birthday party and a baby shower. This place is large enough to accommodate this and have people eating/drinking in the restaurant which was not packed (maybe only 3/4 tables seated.) But our waiter seamed uninterested in servicing our table. We barely saw him and we didn't get the vibe he wanted to tell us about their beer. As I walked into the bathroom I saw the beautiful gold and black art deco wallpaper in the rear, the beautiful vault door and the well done graffiti inside the vault (tasteful.) I stepped into the ladies restroom and how beautiful! The flamingo wall paper and gold mirrors with the faces logo on the bathroom stall doors. Top notch attention to detail here! Immediately I felt this place does not give off typical brewery vibes. As I walked back to our table I walked under a row of chandeliers! What I don't understand- the logo is 3 dog heads and how that ties to such a fancy interior. The ramen tots, lightly seasoned. needs more! The salt and pepper wings: perfect crisp and great flavor. I've had Faces before, almost a year ago and Iaonly tried there apps and it was your standard. So this Saturday when my friend and I went we were hoping to get brunch. We called prior and was told by the host that it stops at 3, we made it by 2pm and once we were seated and served it was around 2:10 give or take. All this to say, once our waitress started to serve us we asked for a brunch meal and her response had my friend and I floored. Her response, "brunch ends at 2pm." This is why they didn't get a 5 star from me because there is lack of communication. Our hearts were initially set on brunch but we ended up ordering dinner. For starters we ordered their corn dog it was good and fried, it had this great sauce that was paired well with it. Then my friend and I ordered the Southern chicken. I had high expectations for this sandwich and Faces succeeded. It had a hint if spice with coleslaw that was filled with flavor and fresh pickles. The fries were light and airy. Faces Brewing is an incredible gem in Malden, MA, just a quick ride on the orange line from downtown Boston. My friend and I walked in for brunch without a reservation at 11:15 on a Saturday and were immediately seated. The ambiance is beautiful featuring private tables for small and large parties, greenery draping the walls, along with a very large bar in the center. Our waitress, Monica, was a delight, as was the entire team working! We tried family style dining ordering the fried pickles, poutine, burrata and prosciutto, Brussels sprouts, and a breakfast platter. Everything was absolutely delicious, though we agreed that the brussels sprouts were lacking in flavor amongst the rest of the really flavorful dishes. This is strictly a food review. Food was mediocre at best and the music was very loud so you couldnt even really hear the person sitting next to you. Service was normal. What we got: Pretzel bites: this was good, the beer cheese was very tasty! Poutine: straight disrespect to call this poutine. There was no gravy at all. Basically fries topped with some short ribs. Nashville hot chicken sandwich: the chicken slice was so thin that it soaked up all of the oil that went into frying it. When I bit into it, it was a big bite of oil and a little spice. Sausage and peppers pizza: this was ok but as a new yorker, my standards for pizza are pretty high. The bottom doesn't have a crunch but it was great and crisped up as left overs when reheated on a cast iron pan the next day. Flavor was good though!
