Great lively spot with excellent variety! Trillium is such a fun spot to meet up with people. The atmosphere is definitely loud, but it has a great, lively energy that makes for a fun night out. One of the best parts about this brewery is that they distill their own spirits, so you have plenty of great options even if you aren't in the mood for beer. They don't offer traditional flights, but you can ask for two half-pours (about 5 oz each) to try a couple of different things. Here is what we tried: Out of This World: This mixed drink tasted like an upscale mai tai. It was beautifully cloudy and made with real passion fruit puree. Delicious! Coffee Pot & Kettle Stout: Absolute creamy goodness. This was my personal favorite, though I usually lean toward stouts anyway. Fort Point IPA (with Citra): My husband is the big IPA lover, and I usually attempt a taste with a lot of apprehension since I don't care for super hoppy beers. However, this one was surprisingly good! It felt more like a fruity, juicy hazy IPA. The listed pine notes were very subtle and gave it a really nice, balanced finish. read more

Great beer selection, solid food options and an excellent staff. Interior space was quite crowded with minimal to no space at the tables and bar...even on a Monday early evening. I would expect the outdoor space would come in handy once the weather warms up. Conveniently located right off of Seaport Blvd. surrounded by some other good food and dessert options. Lots of parks in the area, including Fan Pier Park, which offers some spectaculay views of the Boston Skyline...particularly after dark. Metered Street Parking was actually manageable, especially in the later post 6-pm midweek hours in the Fort Hill Square Area. Meters are in effect through 8pm with a 2-hour maximum, so if you arrive after 6pm and feed the meter until 8pm, you are all set for the night! The South Station (Red) T Station is also nearby. Both options are a short walk to Fan Pier Park. There are also lots of garages available in the immediate area as well. read more

Brewery # 412 I am reviewing Trillium with my head in clouds because I am a fan of beer and after having a Congress St Hazy IPA in the panhandle of Florida about a year ago, I couldn't wait to try this brewery and their beer didn't disappoint. I got 5 oz pours of all of their IPA's and was in heaven. The Really Big Bird and Galaxy Cutting Ties were amongst my favorites. I wanted to try multiple stouts but unfortunately most of their pastry stouts were not on tap. They were only in 18.5-ounce bottles so I could only order one. I got the Macaroon Macaroon, which was a collab with Veil Brewing in Richmond VA (another phenomenal brewery that I have been to). It was dessert in a glass. I had the lady friend with me, or I would have opened and closed this place that or passed out in the corner. I was in heaven. She ordered some spinach and artichoke dip but I don't remember it. The staff were attentive and friendly despite it being crazy busy for the World Cup. Fantastic merch as well! We love stopping by Trillium for a beer and some munchies. We usually have our dog with us and he's allowed too--on the patio of course. The patio is first come, first serve. It's easier if you go inside and order your drinks at the bar vs. waiting for someone to wait on you outside. We love their beer! The food is decent too. This past weekend, we ordered the chicken wings and the carrots. Both were tasty but not my favorite. Next time I will try something else. We also stop by often to pick up beers from the counter in the back. Service is always fast and friendly. They always offer me a box to carry it home. We were visiting Boston and I had a huge craving for a soft pretzel with beer cheese dip. The parking situation is really hard. We had to park in a lot a few blocks away for $25. Came here for trivia with a larger group and had a great time. We were able to make a reservation for table which made it really easy. Trivia is run by Geeks Who Drink, I like their format and the trivia master was a chill guy. I didn't get any drinks but the food was good overall. We got the butternut squash papusa, brussel sprouts, jerk rib, and short rib ragu. The jerk rib was probably my favorite. We also got a skillet brownie desert that was very good and they were nice enough to serve with extra ice cream that I requested (leading to the perfect brownie to ice cream ratio). Trillium has a great selection of beers to choose from. As for food options, it was hit or miss. We started with pretzel and Asian short ribs. The pretzel was ok, big but with ours came with cold cheese sauce and a spicy mustard. The shorts ribs was the highlight of the meal. Now the downside was our server recommend the pastrami sandwich. Stated it came with a good size serving of pastrami. Well unfortunately that was a lie. There was very little meat and really looked like a veggie sandwich since the pastrami was barely visible and could hardly taste and overwhelm with onions, peppers and jalapeños. Great outdoor brewery perfectly placed with a fabulous view of the harbor through the arch at the grand Boston Harbor Hotel. Despite a line we were served quickly and with a friendly chat as well! Plenty of seating or friendship style standing tables and when we were there there was also a New Orleans themed food truck. There were quite a few delicious IPAS on tap and plenty of others if they aren't your thing. One we ordered kicked as he was filling our cup so the treat was we ended up being able to try THREE! Stopped here on a nice sunny day and decided to sit up in the rooftop. Heads up, majority of is is uncovered, so if you are susceptible to sunburn or don't like the direct sun on you, plan accordingly. I was surprised it wasn't busier, as several other places around the city were slammed on this afternoon. We were able to get a seat up there without waiting. I had the triple berry beer, which (as expected) was quite sweet, but actually very refreshing on a day like that. I wouldn't drink multiple of those in a sitting, though. We also ordered the calamari, which was tasty and a nice portion size. The bartender was a bit rude, which caught me off guard, but maybe just a bad day. Came for the check-ins and food. This is located in a convenient location by the water, and seems trendy and busy with tables full both upstairs and downstairs (they also have a patio). We walked in and there was no hostess. The bartenders stood around and did not greet us. We had to go ask for service so that we can be seated (why?) and then once we were seated, it took a while for a server to take our order. Once we got our order, we never got our waters refilled and only were checked on to see if we'd want more alcohol. The menu was alright, though a bit basic. Food tasted fine. Presentation was basic and the little cup of fries seems stingy and unnecessary when there's already a tray. The alcohol was fine. I was pleased they had cocktails in a can (they have a distillery with a wide variety of spirits). No ciders though. The beer selection was good although the menu on the wall was not updated. It would've been good if we could just order from the wall but apparently the drafts and to-go menus are not updated. Overall very subpar service and unwelcoming pretentious vibes. Beer - really good!! I actually had one of these when I was up in Kennebunkport Maine and was super excited to go to the Trillium brewery in Boston. However, we had the absolute worst bartender ever on Friday, May 1 around 6:00 PM. We came in happy and excited after a perfect day. We had just commented on how nice everybody in this part of the country is. We are from the south and we are always just friendly by nature. We were on our way to a harbor cruise and in a bit of a hurry but we knew what we wanted. One of the people in our party ordered and when the Bartender did not acknowledge what he said he repeated his order - the bartender's response was "I have ears man." So many other things he said and did that were unacceptable customer service. It's really not hard to be nice. read more

Came in here for a brew before leaving with some coworkers after dinner. It was very lively, we wanted to go upstairs and check out the terrace, but it was closed for a private event. - bummer. The staff mentioned they have live music there and it fills up quickly on the terrace, and recommended getting there earlier on a regular night, even as early as six or seven. There were barely any tables, only the standing room tables were open. I tried a sour, I can't remember the name, but it was fruity and delicious, I believe it was Apple. They have cute merch, and the place is warm and inviting, I wish they would have stayed open a bit later but it was a weeknight I suppose. Tetreault for one of their mixers in thier cocktails did not taste the way it is described. We expected more spice like the cinnamon and nutmeg and instead this drink served like an old fashioned was way more tart. Tasted like a super lemon old fashioned. The regular old fashioned and their homestead bourbon was excellent!!! Yum! The outdoor area is nice but keep in mind the outdoor area IS the front entrance. We made the mistake of walking all the way to the other side thinking this was the back because it was all blocked off. A sign to say " this is the entrance" would have been nice so we would not have dragged our luggage there. Drink choice are interesting. Didn't try the food. Coming from Southern California and having great breweries like monkish around I needed to come to Trillium to try their hazys. Didn't even know there was a happy hour until our server let us know that they do 1$ oysters for happy hour. Of course we had to order them. I had 3 beers and 2 half pours. The entrance of this brewery was in a courtyard but the building itself is pretty big, inside is open and very clean. We were greeted and seated immediately due to the time we arrived and our waiter was awesome, super friendly and attentive throughout service. We tried their canned vodka drinks, the half and half was tasty. We also ordered wings, pizza, smash burger and of course the oysters, twice actually. I stopped by Trillium - Fort Point on a Saturday afternoon this past Summer to meet up with some friends. On a weekend, the place was packed with people of all ages. I was surprised by the number of families with full strollers and toddlers running around the inside tap room and outdoor patio. We put our name on a waiting list for a table for three and grabbed drinks in the meantime at the bar. Trillium has a great selection of sour beers, my favorite. I got the Habitat: 2024 Blend #2, which had a tart blueberry and raspberry flavor. What I didn't realize was it was a 500 mL bottle, so quite a bit more than your average pint glass. Tasty nonetheless. For food, I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich with cherry peppers, Russian dressing, and munster cheese on a demi baguette. For the price, it was a good sized portion and they went heavy on the Munster cheese. The sweet cherry peppers mixed well with the savory pastrami and Russian dressing. It came with crispy fries as well. Overall Trillium - Fort Point had a nice atmosphere and during the summer, plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy all they have to offer. Delicious beer and awesome Happy Hour! Came here after hitting up the Holiday Market and their beer hit the spot. They have a great selection of beer and the IPAs are really good. I totally forget what beer I got but I know that the IPAs I tried were great. We also were able to enjoy Happy Hour with $1 oysters. Man, oh man. We can get oysters in Hawaii but these oysters are so fresh, they literally tasted like the ocean in a GOOD way. I had oysters the night before we came to Boston so I had something to compare it to and these oysters were fresh! Salty yet sweet - Perfecto with the lemon and sauces. I will say the vinegar sauce they provided was like straight up vinegar and way too strong for us, but the other cocktail sauce was good. Staff was great! Accommodating and friendly. Great place to hang out and catch up with friends but nothing crazy to write home about! Appreciate their wide range of drink options, from IPAs to snouts, cocktails to sodas. I got the dirty chai and was surprised at how lemon-forward it was. There was some spiced flavors at the end of your sip but 90% of the drink felt like an alcohol lemonade instead of any tea or chai taste. For beers, the Bees and Belgian Blonde were both good. The tropical fruit salad was on the sweeter side and not as tart, so perfect for me. The space is pretty big and our server was nice. WTH! What happened to this place? I visited about three years ago, and while the beer was amazing then (and thankfully still is), the food used to be exceptional as well. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was completely bland and came with soggy chips. The French fries tasted like someone dumped an entire pound of salt on them. Even the bread seemed stale, like it had been sitting around for days. It's such a disappointment because this used to be one of my favorite spots. If you're planning to come here, I would honestly recommend stopping by Trader Joe's first to grab some snacks. Cool brewery with a nice vibe. The beer list was really interesting with different options across the types of beers like IPA's, stouts, saisons, and sours. I'm a huge stout fan and was excited to try out some of the different stout options they have here. The bar area had a number of tables, some were open to the bar and some were reserved for the host to assign tables. I sat at the bar and was a bit confused with the beer list as much of the list actually appeared to be bottles. I wasn't sure if I was looking at a to-go beer menu rather than the actual draft menu, so I asked the bartender if this was the draft list. He said the ones in milliliters are bottles, I still didn't understand if those could be drink at the bar as often breweries require bottles to be drink off premise. Overall the bartender was very rude and treated my questions as if these were obvious things and I was being very annoying. The next people to sit at the bar next to me asked the exact same question. I presume the bartender may be frustrated answering these questions a lot, but they should really make the menus more clear or have friendlier service. I got a nitro stout which I really enjoyed. It looked like you could have any of the bottles on the menu at the bar, but they were cheaper if you bought them to go at a separate station. It also looked like you could get 5 oz pours of beers and effectively create your own flight, I'm not sure how the price would come out on these and how worth it it would be since these were not marked on the menu either. I did grab some beers to go and am excited to try them. I like the place, but would suggest some changes to make the menu more clear, on bottles, the sizing in oz for the bottles, and that the bottles can be drink at the bar. Headline: $1 oysters, Mon-Fri, 2-4pm. We took advantage of a weekday afternoon to gorge ourselves on said oysters, which were nicely shucked, with lots of oyster juice and very little grit. They didn't tell us where the oysters were from, it just said "local selection" on the menu, but they were a good size. We also tried the carrot hummus, which was a thinner, runnier texture than your typical hummus. I especially liked the uber-crispy pita chips on the side. The food menu has your standard burger, fried chicken sandwich, salad, and wings options. Didn't try any of the beer except for a sip of the Daily Selection (some apricot-y flavor) so can't opine on it. It was too hot to sit outside, we opted for indoors. You can make reservations for a table in advance. A little hard to find - the entrance is set further back from the street, but just look for Trader Joe's. Street parking is notoriously challenging in Seaport unless you pay an arm and a leg for garage parking. We ended up circling a few times and found a spot. Aside from the weekday oyster special, they also do trivia on Monday nights! Except for the fact that Seaport is such a pain to get to for me, I'd come here more often. read more

Okay, I really wanted to give this place another fair shot but it just isn't that great. Maybe this is a good place for drinks but not for food. I got the pretzel again but they changed the pretzel to be one twist one instead of three logs and I think it has to be the smallest pretzel ever made, hand included in image for reference. This is absolutely not worth the money and the cheese sauce it comes with is grainy. We shared a blueberry cobbler which was just okay, the blueberry part was extremely soupy and hard to eat. In addition to the food not being good, the service was not great. First, I asked what the flavor of the day was for the slushy and the server didn't know, which is fine but then she made it seem like a chore when she asked if I wanted her to check. Later, it took her a while to come back around so we could order dessert and she didn't know if they offered the cobbler anymore and then took a while to go check. At the end of our meal, we waited over 15 minutes for her to even walk near us so we could ask for the check and when we finally got her attention she seemed annoyed we even asked. They make quite a few beers which seemed like a little too many for a place that makes craft beers. The two that I had were ok, but they were also a bit on the expensive side for a place that makes their own beer. Loved Trillium! My husband and I hit this up on our very last day. We walked a few miles instead of taking the train, knowing we'd be sitting on a plane for 6 hours. It's tucked away next to a Trader Joe's, has a small patio, but has a spacious indoors with a bar and tables. I had smaller pours of the fruited and hard seltzers with the hard lemonade being my favorite. I should've just ordered two pints of it. The food was spectacular. I'd highly recommend the pretzel with the beer cheese. The smash burger and fries were rich and delicious, while the salad with peaches and goat cheese balanced everything out. The server was excellent, attentive, but kept his distance and gave us space. The air conditioned interior provided relief from the heat and humidity outdoors. The beer was tasty and left us wanting more. Cannot wait to return here on our next visit to Boston. read more
