This place advertises that it's one of the best in Hilton Head, that they've won all of these award, yeah they clearly printed them off of the computer. They didn't use a light to examine my face for impurities, they never removed blackheads, toner or serum. They just felt like they kept using the same foaming cleansing stuff over and over again. They wrapped my face in a warm towel while they laid some flimsy eye patches over my eyes so they could massage my neck and feet. Overall the experience reminded me of an old run down Chinese restaurant that turned into a spa. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on this place. read more

Had the best facial while I was here on vacation. I don't normally have super oily or dry skin, but I was having some dryness around my chin the week leading up to the facial & when I left, my face was smooth as butter. I wasn't even expecting the best part - which was getting my neck, shoulders, arms, & feet massaged, as well. They even wrapped my arms/hands in these warm mitts after massaging with lotion & it was the most relaxing thing in the world. I tried the Skin Specific facial the other day and was completely underwhelmed by the service and the facility itself. My aesthetician was 10 mins late which was fine because I wasn't in a rush, but it wasn't the best first impression right off the bat. My aesthetician never asked me what I was looking to get out of the facial (ie. exfoliation, extractions, etc.), what my skin type is, or what products I use at home, so she basically went in blind... which did not fair well for my skin. From what I could tell, the only products used were cleansers and masks, which I have at home.. so I was really disappointed to say the least. Not to mention, half of my facial was really just a massage of my upper chest and arms, which is great, but it was not what I paid for. I was very disappointed with my Spa experience. My husband surprised me with a 9:25am appointment for a Spa Manicure. I arrived at 9:24am and read a sign on the door "Sorry for the inconvenience. We're closed!" A woman came to the door. When I told her I had a scheduled appointment, she replied "No you don't! Your appointment was at 9:15am!" Not having the confirmation email, I apologized and she rushed me inside. The employee hurried me through my manicure appointment. I was very dissatisfied with the look of my nails and the overall experience. The biggest complaint was the highly inappropriate conversation the nail technician had with me during my appointment. I couldn't wait to get out of there! I arrived home and verified the appointment was scheduled at 9:25am. read more

My mom, sister and I have started a tradition of massages on vacation. We picked Faces based on the reviews and pricing. Prices were very good. A lovely little place in the Village at Wexford. Promptly greeted and brought to our rooms. We've all gotten massages before but this was my first maternity massage. Just being able to lay on my stomach was glorious. I almost asked about being able to buy the pillows I was laying on. The masseuse was excellent. Perfect pressure and quiet. Left feeling relaxed. My sister had gotten so badly burned that they couldn't work on her back, so she got a scalp and head massage. We appreciate the flexibility. My mom, a talker, appreciated that her masseuse talked with her. Looking forward to going back next year. read more

I booked an appointment for a Brazilian wax here after having a lot of difficulty finding a place to regularly get this service. I was able to book online as a first-time client, which was a big plus for convenience. The reception staff was very nice and professional, and I was super impressed with their front counter software. (That's an odd thing to notice, but it matters!) The spa area itself was very soothing. They have taken time with the lighting and music to create a nice little oasis. Arielle worked on me - she was quick, and thorough! In the past I've been thoroughly bummed out by paying sky-high prices for a wax service that didn't take off what it was supposed to. Absolutely no regrets here! The price was a bargain: only $50 before tip. Will definitely return and hope to try their other spa services. read more

I always visit Faces when I'm in HHI. They have a lovely, welcoming spa with terrific staff. I'm a big fan of their pedicures and massages. During my last visit to the Island, I had a back injury while on vacation. I went to Faces for a massage and had an exceptional experience. Best spa on the Island! These guys really know their stuff. I've been working with a fabulous esthetician for a few months now and my skin looks better than it ever has. Forget dermatology clinics, these guys did in weeks what dermos tried for years to accomplish. You will not find a more knowledgeable staff in the HHI area. They are constantly concerned with sanitation often throwing money away instead of cutting corners. These guys are very friendly and easy to work with, extremely personable, professional, and flexible. I had a wonderful experience from the moment my wife and I stepped into the spa. We were greeted immediately and they had our names/appointment already pulled up. Super fast service and awesome customer service when I had to re arrange my appt and services due to our vacation schedule. Got charged for testing out a nail polish on my finger. I left the room and one of the employees working for FACES told a girl in my party that I was young and reckless... So unprofessional. I also got charged for it and they didn't even tell me. So I had to go back and get it refunded on my card. Just really immature and unprofessional. read more

Very hurried in and out service, especially for a local. My Pedicure was as bad as it gets. No talking, no asking how I would like my pedicure done, no offering of a drink, just all around rudeness.. She said she had been doing tourists all day, (said it to the other person beside me) who was also giving a pedicure. I received a spa sampler from a charity event for Faces and thought I would give it a try. I have never felt more rushed through services in my life! The "backrub" was done in the corner of the waiting room...while many other guests sat and talked. Not relaxing at all! I understand this is a quick treatment, but it would have been so much better in a private area. The facial was quick. The steam was not even put towards my face and there was a quick extraction. Basically, I had my face washed and cream applied. Very quick. I have had many facials that were shorter and much better. Then the pedicure. I upgraded from the one included in the package. The chair was comfortable, but that is the best thing I can say. My toes were painted so quickly and carelessly. There was polish all over the cuticles and they were very sloppy. It looked like a blind monkey had painted my toes! For a pedi in Hilton Head, don't waste your time or money. Head over to Sea Pines and visit Le Spa for a very nice pedicure! Sorry Faces! The nail techs are exceptional and when I had my massage I left there feeling like a new person. The massage therapists do deep tissue massages as well as a basic feel good massage. My wife and I booked a couples massage somewhat last-minute while visiting Hilton Head. We tried to also book pedicures, but again, it was the day before when we called, and none were available. My wife and I quite enjoyed our massages. The staff was friendly and pleasant to associate with. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star rating for me (and I've seen other people mention it in reviews) is the changing situation. Any other massage I've been to, I've changed in the room where the massage took place. Here at FACES, there is a designated bathroom/changing room, with a locker to store your things, and a robe and flip-flops for you to put on. There is also a shower and a steam room in there, and the masseuse invited me to use them after the massage. Now, at face value (sorry for the pun), this all sounds like a great idea. However, there are two distinct problems with this that made me slightly uncomfortable. First - after you put your things in the little locker and change into your robe, you then come out of the bathroom and sit in a cozy little waiting area. Problem is, that the cozy little waiting area is for like anyone else there. I'm sitting in my robe with other ladies who are there for nail or hair treatment or whatever.... not massages cause they're not wearing robes! It was just a little awkward... Second problem, is that the nice idea of the shower after the massage got a little muddied, because the bathroom/changing room (at least the men's) was also the bathroom for all the rest of the store's clients!) So, when almost getting in the shower after my massage, there was a knock on the door... well I felt very uncomfortable with the prospect of taking a nice leisurely post-massage shower (which I was invited to do) while there was someone potentially outside waiting to use the toilet. I think this perhaps is a predicament being overlooked, because in other reviews I've read that mention this, there were also other problems and low ratings and think the management focused on those issues. So - Good rating, but there is are inherent issues with the way your system is designed to work! read more

I first visited Faces Day Spa back in 2008-2009. My husband gave me a gift certificate and I received a Massage and Facial. Both services were great. I went back another time for a pedicure which wasn't very good. I felt I could have done just as good of a job myself at home and felt like the application of nail polish was kinda thick and gooey. However, this was back in 2008-2009 so it may have gotten better. The main reason I am writing this review is more so in regards to their products offered in their onsite store and online. I have been using some of their products ever since and still do to this day. We're military so I've moved several times and still order my facial supplies online because I love them that much. Not overpriced (although they have gone up since I first started ordering) and each of the bottles last me 3-4 months. I am 37 years old and nobody believes me. I always get compliments on my skin. Several people do a double take and say "wow, you have great skin, it glows" really, I've been told this so many times so like I said I really believe in their products. I use : Triple C&E , oil free hydrating fluid, Ultimate Scrub, Stress Recovery Lotion, I also think their Solar Defender Spf 30 works really well however I wish it were a little lighter. I also love that they now include samples with your order so you can try other products. read more

Queen for the day treatment made me feel like a peasant--since now I'm out $200.00. The aero massage was just blah. The facial was decent. The mani/pedi was not worth it. I also waited so long just to be seen, even with an appointment. I was very disappointed with the services provided, and was shocked that it was voted best at Hilton Head Island. The next time I head to HHI, and decide to get spa treatment at FDS, I'd only get the facial services. read more

Amazing!! I am getting married soon and trying to clear my skin up so been getting a monthly facial. On my second monthly visit and my face is 95% cleared up! I am visiting from out of town and chose to go to Faces for a mani/pedi. It was, hands-down, the best I have ever had. The spa is beautifully appointed, relaxing, and very welcoming. The nail technician who performed my French mani/pedi, ShaQuanna Hamilton, is not only the consummate professional, but an artist as well. I felt pampered throughout and so relaxed I napped through most of my pedicure! I will definitely be back next time I visit Hilton Head! read more

Got a half leg and bikini waxing, not inexpensive, and the woman performing the service took an hour to complete it and didn't feel the need to chat the whole time, which was a delightful respite. I went for the 80-minute creme de la creme facial, It was great, but actually 60 minutes long. She "touched" by feet, neck, & arms, but wasn't a massage, so don't expect that;). Cindy was excellent. After having massage therapy by different therapist, Cindy is the best. I am in constant pain and she helped my mobility and relieved some of the pain. I wish I lived in Hilton Head so I could have more appointments with her. The massage table lowered to help me and the sheets were fabulous. My mother and I have been coming to Faces for many many years and, are always excited to have our annual "girls spa day" when we go to HHI. This year we were treated so poorly I was appalled. We arrived for our two 80 minute massages and subsequent pedicures only to wait over 30 minutes before MY MOTHER ONLY was called back. Then, she was told that they didn't have enough therapists for both of us and, only one of us was getting a massage. Interestingly, while this was all going on I was still sitting there patiently waiting for my massage. No one had the courtesy to simply let me know they were low on therapists. My mother expressed that this was not okay as we booked them together and were there together. At that point, my mother came out and told me with a sheepish therapist nodding her head behind my mom in agreement. The therapist did not even tell me herself...she made my mother do it. We were offered to be "fit in" some other time that day (although no specific times were offered) and, then were told by the therapist that the girl that was supposed to take care of me was at the Faces Lash store just a few doors down and was unavailable to treat. The same therapist then told me that they could fit us in a few days later...she then turned on her heels and retreated to the back of the store leaving us alone to simply digest what had just happened. I then walked up to the young woman manning the front and asked what was going on at which point she looked at me and said, "well what did they tell you??" I asked to talk to a manager and she just looked at me and walked into the back. Finally, a young woman came up and indicated she was the manager and that they were sorry but, the therapist who was supposed to help me had called in sick 30 minutes earlier! I was shocked that for 30 minutes I waited when they knew there was no one to help me. She indicated they would be happy to get us in another day (although we had told them we were only there for a brief vacation) but, never once apologized or explained exactly why they even took my mother back for her massage when they knew I would not be able to have my massage as well. The whole thing just felt very shady and rude and, no one seemed to care that we had waited so long or that our services weren't being rendered that day. Additionally, the general manager called my mother over a week later and, indicated the therapist who did not show that day had gone in to labor...now the 3rd story that we had been told about the allusive missing therapist. This place used to be the best on the island but, now it is just a shell of its former self. read more
