Alright, she uses a stripless wax (not much of a fan of stripless waxes). Ok, so maybe I am accustomed to having certain things done a certain way especially when it comes to the intimate grooming of my lady bits. These are some of the things I expect during my first and every visit to my aesthetician that just didn't happen at my very first visit. There was no sense of privacy. Even though she is in her own salon, she could have at least offered to excuse herself while I disrobed, then re-entered the room. Good thing I didn't have an issue with getting undressed in front of someone who is about to perform professional services on my intimate areas. I wasn't offered a sani-nap to wipe off any sweat that accumulates in the bikini area - (the removal of sweat is for the clients health to keep the sweat from entering the open pores and optimum recovery). There wasn't any soft, relaxing music playing to soothe me, the client. Instead the news was on. THE NEWS. She didn't hold my skin taught to reduce discomfort. *alarms go off in my head. But she did apply pressure after the wax was removed. I was charged an additional fee to remove the hair outside of the bikini line. (really?) The wax was too hot which meant that she had to blow on the wax. If you know anything, you know that particles are released from your mouth and onto the wax and onto my most delicate parts. With my Brazilian, I advised her that I wanted to leave a "little" hair in the front. Although, I neglected to specify whether I wanted a "landing strip, Charlie Chaplin/Hitler", or a simple triangle, she didn't ask either. When she finished, I was not even offered a mirror to see how it looked. When I got home... I saw why I wasn't offered a mirror! She left a lopsided and crooked triangle! How can I proudly show that off! If you've been waxed before, and had to experience having wax applied that is too hot, then perhaps you have experienced whiteheads (or pimple looking bumps) that eventually go away on their own. When she went to tweeze the stray hairs that she missed, she pinched my already tender lip. :-( The wax was applied haphazardly, there were times where the wax had actually stuck my lips together. EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! When attempting to remove the wax from the back, there was wax applied to my exit hole! (When I got home, I SAW there was STILL hair back there, how do you get wax all over the anus yet manage to leave hair back there!) It's a BRAZILIAN! That means NO HAIR, especially back there! I am used to being in unusual positions to give optimum access to the hair back there, but I was only instructed to "bring my knees to my chest". That's it? Wow, I thought she has got to be incredible to get all of the hair without me having to me either be on "all fours", or lay flat on my stomach and "spread em" to get all of the hair. No. She left too much hair back there with the "bring your knees up to your chest" method. Upon leaving, she didn't offer any post wax instructions. I guess it is a good thing I know the rules. For the next four hours or so: Do Not Sweat (no working out) Do Not have Sex (damn!) Do Not go Swimming Do Not lay out in the Sun (no problem there) Do: Exfoliate your skin in two - three days Also, I turned my phone off as I believe that it is unprofessional to have your phone going off during a paid service. Not so in her case. There were several distractions where her phone was ringing during my service. Uhm, maybe turning off or muting the phone during my time was an oversight, But.... To answer the phone WHILE you are applying hot wax to my Va-Jay-Jay is so not cool. Perhaps, I caught her when she was distracted or preoccupied with something else perhaps not.

Courtney is a really nice lady and making an appointment is super convenient. I love the email and text reminders! But if only my appointments were just as pleasant. I purchased a Living Social package for 2 Brazilian waxes for $39 back in April 2014 but after my first visit, I have been dreading going back. It was SO painful! In fact, I think it was more painful than my very first Brazilian! Thankfully my pain tolerance has increased since then or I may just have to call myself a masochist. But given the number of good reviews, I thought maybe she was having a bad day and decided to give it a second try. But after my appointment today, I really wished I had just sacrificed my 2nd visit on my voucher. First off, the comments regarding privacy are right on point. However, It didn't really bother me that Courtney didn't offer to step out for me to undress. But what did bother me was that she was doing the following: 1. Talking/picking up the phone before and during my wax appointment (I know it wasn't work related because she was talking to someone about a car payment 2. Courtney constantly having to blow on the wax that was applied to me at differentiating temperatures. Now, to her defense, she did mention that if I was coming up on my cycle (which may be), my body was more sensitive to the temperature of the wax but I really felt like it was burning me at some points and yet perfectly warm during other points of my appointment so the inconsistent temperatures of the wax made me think differently. 3. On both visits, she paid very little attention to me cringing or closing my eyes in pain and applied little pressure after yanking off the wax to make sure the amount of pain felt would be lessened. 4. Lastly, Courtney didn't apply any oil/product to remove the leftover wax or soothe my skin after the wax was complete I will also agree with other reviewers that this is not a "zen" or spa-like atmosphere. You won't find any dim lights, tranquil music, or aromatherapy candles here. These things don't bother me but I thought I should make it known that it's very much get in, get out type of business. Like I said, Courtney is nice but if you're going to her for waxing services, just be aware of the type of service that you're paying for. For me, I felt the cons outweighed the pros and unfortunately, will not be returning.

She looked awful, I felt so bad. I went three times, second to give her another chance and third out of principle as I paid for 3, but she's no good.
